Relax (Part 1)

The door to the classroom swung open. "Hello students! Who's ready for today's lessons in Hero Agency management?!" Prez Mic's classroom was silent. Prez Mic looked around. He was used to his classroom not responding to his hyped up introductions, but there was a very different reason behind today's silence: 11 of the 20 seats were empty. "...Where is everyone?"

Chris punched Kirishima, sending him sliding several feet. Despite that, Kirishima remained upright and shouted. "Is that the best you got?!" Chris charged forward and punched Kirishima even harder. This repeated process was similar to when Kirishima trained with Ojiro in the forest: by constantly being hit by a powerful force and then rehardening his skin, he was improving his quirk's durability. Chris was also getting practice by trying out new kinds of punches, such as punching around someone's guard or by targeting weak points on a person. Across the gym, Denki took a deep breath. "...Alright, Tokoyami! I'm bringing the pain this time!" Tokoyami glared. "Dark Shadow!" Dark Shadow emerged. "Bring it on, blondy!" Denki blasted Dark Shadow with his electricity. Dark Shadow grunted in pain, but remained still. This training was to improve Dark Shadow's daytime fighting abilities, since he normally weakens when exposed to high amounts of light. Denki could also take this time to let loose and increase the amount of voltage he can use before his brain fries. Itsuka and Jason were sparring in a corner, trying to improve their martial arts, given that Itsuka's quirk was only useful if she could fight well, and Jason needed to improve his base physical abilities in order to keep up with his classmates. Kyoko lashed out at Iida with her ear jacks. The faster student quickly dodged. They were trying to improve each other's abilities as well: Kyoko was working on using her ear jacks as a weapon without her support gear by working on both range and accuracy, and Iida was working on dodging attacks mid run, and was starting to figure out how to turn on a dime. Momo created a staff in her hands and swung. Mina ducked and rolled away before using her own staff to swing at Momo. Momo blocked the attack, spun the staff, and swung at Mina again. Both girls had great control of their quirks, so their training was focusing on their speed and skill, so they could avoid attacks long enough to get a chance to use their quirk. Shoto was by herself in the final corner, rapidly transitioning between her fire and ice, trying to adjust her body to both extremes while also improving transition time. This also helped her prepare her body for using both quirks simultaneously, which could one day mean Apocalyptic Shock can be a consistent move in her arsenal.

All Might's jaw hung open as he watched the students train from the gym's doorway. Aizawa walked in. "I see you found them." All Might turned to Aizawa. "Is this your doing?" Aizawa shook his head. "Up until a few minutes ago, I was with my class. I just heard that 11 students from Prez Mic's class were absent, including Iida, Itsuka, and Momo, which is a surprise to me. However, once I heard the other names, I figured this is where they would be." All Might looked back inside the gym. "...What are they doing…?" "Training." "I know that, but why are they skipping class to train?" Aizawa sighed. "It's only been a week since the Battle of Boardwalk Tower. The fights are still fresh in their minds. Some of them came closer to death there than ever before. The League of Villains may be weakened now, but they believe they need to capitalize on that victory by preparing for the next battle." Aizawa's eyes narrowed. "However, this nonstop training is not going to go well for them."

That night, Midnight and All Might entered the school's computer lab. Everyone else had gone home for the day, and everyone else had gone back to the dorms. However, Jason, Momo, Mina, and Kyoko were all at computers. They had their phones out as well, each and every one of them on call with someone. Midnight gave a nervous smile. "...What are they doing…?" All Might's eyes narrowed. "...I think they're…" Jason unmuted his phone before continuing to type on his computer. "Talk to me, Team One." Chris's voice came over the line. "Nothing. They may not even be in Santa Cruz anymore." Momo looked over at Jason's phone. "Shigaraki is too prideful to leave the city. He would want to stay close by in order to plan his next move." Jason nodded. "Agreed. However, it's nearly impossible to track the League of Villains since we don't know the limitations of Kurogiri's quirk. It could be an infinite range, or it could have no cooldown. Either of those things mean trouble, since they can be anywhere in the world." Kyoko looked at her phone. "Patrol Two, do you have anything?" Denki's voice came over the line. "Negative. Red Riot and I have been driving around this part for hours. No sign of anything." Kirishima could be heard in the background. "I've been driving for hours. You've been sitting in the passenger seat on your phone." "Let me drive then." "I don't trust you driving my truck!" Mina unmuted her phone next. "Teams Three and Four, any update?" Shoto spoke first. "Team Three here: nothing to report." Iida ws next. "Team Four: Nothing to report." Momo sighed. "We're getting nowhere. Team Six, anything to report?" Tokoyami spoke on the phone. "Negative. Just a few low life thugs. I dropped them off with the police." All Might closed his eyes. "...They're running their own hero Agency…"

Midnight stormed up to the four people in the computer lab. "Hey!" Everyone muted their phones and looked at her. "You students need to remember your place! Tonight is a school night! Log out of your computers and-" Jason stood up out of his seat. "Excuse me, Midnight. We are very busy here. If you do not have any business with us outside of shouting, then I must ask you to leave." Midnight stood there frozen, having never had a student politely tell her to shut up and go away before. All Might was stunned as well. Itsuka walked past the teachers. "Excuse me." She walked straight up to Jason's desk. "I called the Endeavor Agency and verified they received our reports." "Good. The patrols just did their hourly check in. I think we should recall them at midnight." Momo turned in her chair. "Jason, I finished drafting the email to ask to coordinate our patrols with the Endeavor Agency, so we're not patrolling the same place twice in a row." Itsuka looked at her. "Did you also include the request to share information?" "I did, but I doubt they'll hand anything over, since we're not in a secure environment." Jason sighed. "Thank you, Momo. I'll look over it in a moment." All Might and Midnight just stood there for a moment, staring at the scene play out.

Aizawa tucked Eri into bed. She was already fast asleep, holding onto the teddy bear that Momo had made for her. Aizawa quietly walked out and shut the dorm door. He then walked into the lounge, where several other teachers were sitting in civilian clothes. Nezu was sitting on the couch's arm rest. "Welcome, Aizawa. How is she?" "Eri is sleeping now. Let's get this meeting over with so we can do the same." Midnight sipped her coffee before speaking. "Alright, let's cut to the chase. We have 11 students who seem to think they're running a Hero Agency, and we can't stop them because they have their Probationary Hero Licenses, which allows them to do everything except request police raids on private property." Pres Mic took a beer from the six pack he had and passed the rest to Aizawa. "They're skipping classes, but their classmates are giving them the notes so they're still getting passing grades." Aizawa took a beer too and passed the rest to All Might. "So the issue isn't with them keeping their grades up: the issue is the risk of our top hero students getting burnout before they even enter the world as real heroes." All Might just took the remaining beer and set it on the table, not taking a can. "I worry for their mental health. I've seen too many heroes go down this road of focusing on nothing but work and they end up losing sight of the real reasons why they chose to become a hero." Nezu crossed his arms, looking down at the ground. "If each and every one of them was motivated just by the want to become the best, then they would've given up already." Nobody spoke for a while. Then All Might looked up with a smile. "I know what we need to do."
