Relax (Part 2)

Endeavor was silent. He just stared across his desk, where Aizawa and All Might were sitting. Aizawa was dressed in his hero gear, same as Endeavor, while All Might was wearing his bright yellow suit. The clock ticked in the silence of the room. "...Let me clarify. You want my help in sponsoring an all day vacation using my own property." Aizawa sighed. "I definitely said it in more detail and in a less selfish way, but that's the short version." All Might piped up. "You see, Endeavor, we need to remind these students of why there are heroes in the first place. Yea, there's always going to be villains to fight, but the reason we fight the villains is so we can protect the ones we care about: to make a better world for everyone else. We want to-" Endeavor raised his hand, silencing All Might. "I get it, All Might. I understood when you two brought it up first. I meant to ask why you want my help in particular. There are heroes out there who would jump at the opportunity to sponsor a UA event, regardless of how small." Aizawa leaned forward. "We aren't here asking for the help of Endeavor, the Number One Hero. We're asking for the help of Enji Todoroki, the father of one of the students who can't stop working." Endeavor looked down at his desk. He imagined his family back when Rei still lived with them. He remembered how happy Shoto was. Then something odd happened: he imagined Shoto's friends at the dinner table too. Endeavor smiled, which shocked Aizawa and All Might. "Very well. I'll help you. I'll take the weekend off to get my property ready. Feel free to stop by and help out so we can plan."

A week later, Jason sat down in the 2B Lounge. "Alright, I think that's everyone." Tokoyami was the last one to walk in. "I was training. This better be important." Denki smiled up at him. "Dude, sitting in your room with the lights off is not training." Tokoyami ignored the blonde as he sat down next to him. Chris leaned back in his chair. "So what's going on?" Momo waved towards Shoto. "She had something to tell the ten of us." The entire group looked at Shoto. Shoto pulled out her phone and read the text she had received earlier. "Hello Shoto, I wanted to invite you and all of your friends to our place this coming weekend for a get together. We will be barbequing, so please get everyone's preference on what food they like. They are also free to bring their own food. Hope to hear back soon." Itsuka blushed slightly. "You think of all of us as your friends?" Shoto looked at her. "Yes. I want all of you to come." Mina jumped across the table and hugged Shoto. "Thank you so much!" The group laughed together for a bit.

Another week passed. Beverly Harper's car came to a stop outside of the Todoroki residence: a gigantic house with an amazing view of the famous Santa Cruz shoreline. The mother got out of the driver's side. Chris and Momo got out of the back. Jason exited the passenger seat. "Ok, there needs to be a rule against you two making out in the back." Chris chuckled a little while Momo just blushed. Beverly looked at Jason. "Then I guess you and Shoto won't be able to do that either." Jason tried to think of a response, but just sighed in defeat. Kirishima parked his truck right behind the car before getting out with Mina. The six people got out a few bags of food and snacks from Kirishima's truck except for Chris: he was holding a cake that his mother had made for the occasion. A very nice car drove into the driveway. Endeavor got out of the car and quickly walked to the other side, opening the passenger door. Rei stepped out and smiled. "Thank you, Enji." Jason looked over and smiled. "Mrs. Todoroki. It's good to see you again." Rei smiled at Jason. "Hello there, Jason. Please, just call me Rei. Oh, is this your mother?" Ms. Harper smiled as she walked up. "Hello. I'm Beverly. I assume you're Shoto's mother?" The two moms began talking. Shoto started coming out when she saw Endeavor approach Jason. The two stared at each other. Everyone was silent. It really looked like the two were going to fight. Then Jason stifled a laugh. Endeavor tried to hide his smile. Then they both started laughing as they shook hands. "It's good to see you again, Endeavor. Glad to see you're doing well." Endeavor finally stopped laughing. "Likewise, Jason." Shoto was dumbfounded. "...wha… what the…?" Jason looked past Endeavor and smiled at his girlfriend. "Hey. We brought food." Shoto just blinked a few times before smiling. "...at least we don't have to break up a fight between you two…"

As the group began to move up to the house, another car parked. The back door opened as Eri ran out. "Chris! Momo!" Everyone turned. Momo put her bag down and got on a knee, opening her arms up to hug Eri. The little girl hugged Momo. Chris held the cake with one hand and pat Eri's head with the other. Then he looked up at the driver. All Might got out of the car. Chris nodded to him. "How's it going, All Might?" The retired hero sighed. "Lots of paperwork. I'm glad to see you all agreed to go to this little get together." Shoto looked over after taking some of the bags from Beverly. "Welcome, All Might. Will you be joining us today?" All Might shook his head. "No, I was just dropping off Eri since Aizawa is busy today." Endeavor looked over at him. "Maybe you should stay, Toshinori." All Might looked at the current Number One hero. "...are you sure, Enji?" "We're going to have a lot of food made. Besides, how can you get these students to relax if you won't do the same?" All Might sighed and started walking up to join them. Hoto smiled at her friends. Iida is already inside, and the others will be here shortly." Mina shook her head. "He always was the early bird of the class." The group all gathered the bags and walked up to the Todoroki home.
