Japan

The woman had finally calmed down and spoke about the circumstances that had led to her becoming a hybrid. She introduced herself as Morgan and explained that she had managed to escape after being bitten by getting on a boat and fleeing from the port. After which, sea creatures destroyed the boat, but during that time she grew scales and become very strong so she killed all of the sea creatures. With all of his questions answered, he told her to rest for a while before she decided whether or not she wanted to join his crew in their attempt to wipe the infected from Japan.

With that, Matt gave Alpha the order to swim along the coast to look for possible military settlements. It didn't take long for them to find one as one had been created fairly close to a port. It had walls made of stone and rebar in some sections and other sections were fully reinforced with actual concrete. It was obvious that the base was still under construction since there were frames everywhere that were meant for pouring and laying foundations of the walls.

They hadn't even made it to the shore when a sort of siren was sounded and people began to run for cover while others formed a defensive line at their approach. Matt made Alpha stop at a spot where he could wade ashore. He made the rest of the group wait before coming ashore so that they wouldn't end up being attacked by the settlement. Matt made his way ashore with his hands above his head in a show of peace. The soldiers kept their weapons aimed at him while a man, who looked to be in his fifties approached. His attire and the stars on his shoulder signified that he was a general and judging the number he should be a major general.

"(Who are you and why have you tried to enter the backside of this base?)" the man said in Japanese.

"Sorry, I don't speak the language. I can only speak English." Said Matt

"He asked who you are and why you tired to enter the base from a convert angle." said another man stepping forward.

"My apologies for coming in from this side, but it was faster considering my mode of transportation. As for my name, it is Matt." Matt said.

"What mode of transportation are you referring to?" the man said after relaying some information back and fourth to the general.

At about that time, Alpha raised her head from the water. This startled a soldier holding a rocket launcher which prompted him to fire at her. The rocket didn't even make it to the water before Matt caught it with his bare hand and then deconstructed it. This made all of the soldiers go on high alert as this was their first time seeing a hybrid with is strength, speed, and abilities.

"(Are you trying to get us wiped out?)" The general said glaring at the soldier.

The soldier in question walked forward to stand a few feet in front of Matt where he got down on his hands and knees.

"I'm truly sorry for firing recklessly. If my life is enough to pay for this then I will gladly give it." the soldier said.

"Its alright. I understand that you were surprised by her appearance." Matt said as he extended a hand to help the man up.

"I'd like to welcome you into the base as a sign of good faith." said the man beside the general.

Matt nodded and motioned to his group to come ashore. As they did, the soldiers could not help notice that they were all hybrids. James jumped from the turtle shell and landed a few feet from Matt with a thump. Chris simply ran across the water to appear on Matt's other side also a few feet behind. Morgan was still on the turtle and Matt was thinking of building a bridge for her to cross when she simply stepped out on the water. When she did, scales formed on her feet making her stand motionless for a moment then she quickly ran across the water to quickly stand behind Matt while peeking around him to look at the group of soldiers.

The general took note of all this and motioned for the soldiers to disperse as well as for his group to follow him. They made their way to a command building where the group was offered cold water.

"What is it you hope to accomplish by coming to this settlement if you do not mind me asking?" said the man beside the general.

"We were hoping to get the lay of the land as well as to stock up on supplies. We don't intend to take them for free and will provide something in return for them." Matt said.

"What do you propose to trade for supplies and what supplies would you need?" the general said this time.

Matt looked at the general for a moment, making note that the man hadn't spoken any English till just now making him feel that he was being gauged the whole time.

"The supplies we need would be food, access to the records that you have gained on the area, and refuge for the survivors that we locate during our venture outside as well as us from time to time." said Matt.

"That is a lot to ask for when you still haven't stated what you will give in return for what you ask for." the general said.

Matt smiled after the general spoke. It wasn't a smile filled with warmth, but a feral one filled with killing intent. The general could almost smell blood in the air and began to sweat as he realized his mistake in breaking courtesy with a guest.

"I will finish the walls surrounding the base and wipe out the infected horde that has gathered outside. Does that sound fair enough for payment?" Matt asked never breaking eye contact or dropping his smile filled with killing intent.

Both men stared at him with sweat dripping off their foreheads as the general said, "I meant no disrespect in what I said. As for what you have proposed, it should be a hard task for your group to handle should it not?"

"Did our leader say anything about the rest of us being involved in this deal? I think you fail to realize the situation that you find yourselves in. The man you are making demands of could wipe this settlement out and not receive a single scratch." James said before going quiet after receiving a glare from Matt.

"I never intended take the things that this settlement has worked hard to acquire. It was always my intention to off my services in return." Matt said.

The general and the other man breathed a sigh of relief hearing this and nodded in acceptance of the terms given by Matt. Truthfully, they received the lions share of what had been proposed.

"Also, I would like information on the hives that have appeared in the area." Matt said.

The general nodded and sent the man next to him to gather all of the information and supplies that had been requested by Matt. The general then lead Matt to the walls while his group began to wander the settlement with the exception of James. Upon arrival to worst looking sections of the wall, the general gave the order for the workers to clear the area so that Matt could do his work. With the workers gone, Matt made his way to the piles of building materials and deconstructed them. The general was shocked as that was all the materials that they had to finish the walls. Matt then placed his hand on the wall and began to spread his power out.

Matt, wanting to test the extent of his power, began to spread his energy as far as it could reach. Much to his delight, it only took a minute or two for it to cover the entire wall. With that done, he began to reconstruct the walls, freeing them from the imperfections and making them stronger. After ten minutes, the walls were complete and stronger than before. The general could only watch as all of this happened wondering if what the man named James said was true about this one man being able to wipe out their entire settlement.

Matt then scaled the wall with an access that he had created and took a look at the horde outside. Any zombies that had been touching the wall at the time that he has making changes got deconstructed and added to the energy pool that Matt was using to reshape the walls. Taking note of the size of the horde, he nodded in satisfaction as the number would give him a large amount of energy and would most likely allow him to condense the energy in his vessel to a liquid state.

They then made their way back to the command post to look at the state Japan was in so that he could finish up his business on the way out. It was only a matter of time before he would sweep this land of its infected.
