It was all in the news in every source, written with bold letters and happy smiles in the photo.
Alpha Lucas proposed to her.
Heaven accepted him.
He proposed to her.
She accepted him.
With a shrill aggrieved squeak, Alpha Ava tore the article of the newspaper, mercilessly twisting it into an angry fold.
She got up from her office chair, kicking it back as it fell with a thud, showing how many fireballs were ensuing its way out of her mouth.
"H-How could this happen? How did she do it!?" Alpha Ava barked. "Damn it, how!?"
Her aunt Sheryl did say anything, instead unlike her she kept a calm face and read the magazine through her rimmed glasses.
"Why don't you say anything!?"
She still didn't glance at Ava and spoke calmly, "It doesn't take a genius to find out they are mates, it was bound to happen. You shouldn't bother it, we still do stand a chance—"
Ava cut her off. "You don't understand, that human is complicating my plan. We need to do something about it and too quickly. Before I lose the opportunity."
"Even before that human it wasn't like your plan was working out." Sheryl pulled a glass, filling it with water. "And besides, our plan is quite different from your goal, isn't it?"
"I want to kill her, she destroyed it. We can't stay silent anymore, we shouldn't!" Ava slightly painted, running her hand through her hair. "Don't you think this is the right time to execute our plan?"
"We still have to see—"
"I'm the Alpha!" She yelled. "I decide when or what we should do."
Sheryl rolled her eyes. "Darling, why don't you go and take some rest? You are going out of your senses, you desperately need some sleep."
Ava spoke with determination. "I'm not going to leave any of them."

"Do you like it?"
Lucas looked at the titan white dial chain watch which I had bought him with my first pay. It was an expensive one but it was worth it.
Lucas hadn't expected this, well I was a fool to not bring him his gift on his birthday but the next day when he was leaving to another pack for work. I was in a hurry and I thought I had kept it in my bag only to realise that I had left it wrapped in a gift cover on my bed.
What a shame.
How much I regretted not bringing it at that moment. Lucas, like a gentleman, didn't laugh at me or shook his head, instead he admitted that even he forgot stuff to bring in his many main meetings.
Well, everybody does forget to bring stuff on their important days.
"It's beautiful," he answered, looking at his hand where he wore his gift.
"I'm glad," I said.
"You do know right?"
"Huh?"
He gazed at me. "It's considered that when a mated woman brings a gift for his man after he had proposed it means that she accepts the further process of mating."
I chuckled foolishly. "I-I bought you your birthday gift and moreover, I did accept to become your Luna."
Lucas' eyes sparkled when I said that, his eyes boring on to my face as he walked towards me. One step forward from him had me move one back. I stared at his suit-clad chest, my heart bursting with quick thumps.
He had an intimidating posture, his broad shoulders cornering me to the wall in his room. His honey eyes spoke the volumes of love and longing passion of affection whilst his scent danced with my senses, disturbing the brain's usual tasks.
The cold wall hit my back as Lucas trapped me using his palm. I wasn't scared of him, not at all. His face, his eyes, his moves and his vibes all had their own way of protecting me, even if he wanted he couldn't do anything. He was in love with me, a love greater than anything.
"Do you know what that means?" He whispered, his body gave me enough space to turn.
"I accept you."
His lips twitched upwards as his eyes shined, even more, his wolf was coming out. "It means you accept our bond, each and every cell in my body. You accept my ability to turn into a wolf, my power, my title, your title, your job, your value in my pack and your responsibility. You accept bearing my mark too."
It felt as if my shoulders were lowering with each word he said like I really had tons of work to attend and complete in any possible way. I bit my lip, wanting some air to breathe. When I tried to push him he didn't budge instead he enclosed the little place he spared me to breath.
"Lucas," I called.
"Heaven, you are my Luna. You know what that means in human language?"
My brows furrowed. "What?"
"It means you are my wife."
Wait, wait, wait, wait.
What!?
"But it's fine. It's unofficial now. After your Luna ceremony—which is basically a marriage function—you will be considered as my wife officially and then I'll mark you."
This time when I tried to push him, he did move away. Closing the buttons of his suit, he continued staring at me. The need to hold me flourishing in his bright nearly gold eyes.
Skylar told me once about this Luna thing and ceremony when she found out about me. It didn't shock me nor was I confused, but what shocked me was this wife thing.
Sure I liked him a lot but I wasn't ready to be his wife, sure I want to be his wife but not now. Not at the moment.
"Heaven?"
I looked at him again, his honeys occupying their space back again.
"Are you bothered by it?" He asked. "I'm sorry—"
"Why are you?" I chuckled. "I'm fine, the day has to come anyway, but about marking, I'm not comfortable. I don't want it, I'm sorry."
His brows twisted in pain, chest quick with its moment as his eyes narrowed on me. I knew it hurt him, I didn't intend to, I was merely stating my opinion. The marking was another sacred step to seal a bond, It was stronger, effective and used more to scare the unmated males away. A lady bears a mark—a bite mark on the neck to be exact to show that she was someone's possession, and the most irritating part was the females were the ones who enjoyed it more than men. But I wasn't comfortable with it and thanks to God it was an optional step.
He gently sighed, Breathing to calm himself while posing his hands on his hips. "I understand. It's not necessary, If you don't want it I won't ask you again."
"Thanks."
He smiled, knots formed in my stomach when he took my hand in both of his, running gentle circles on the back of my palm.
"Would you like to go on a date with me tomorrow night?"
"You want to?"
"If you want to," he said, warmth flooding from his touch.
"Hmm, alright."

"You're going on a date with Alpha Lucas tonight?" Maya asked, shocked to hear about it.
Ashley slightly pushed her head to the side, shaking her head at her weak understanding. "Duh, they both are dating."
"I'm so happy for you." Skylar smiled at me with that sister look.
Maya drew circles on the area where Ashley put her Delta pressure. "I said that because Alpha Lucas didn't seem the type to go on dates."
"Every guy changes after he finds his perfect match," Skylar explained, throwing the bottle of water when Ashley signalled her.
I nodded in response. It was nice meeting all four of us talking like best friends, it felt my friendship zone went to an extension.
Ashley and Maya both were very nice women like Skylar, they treated them as their friends irrespective of how our kind reacted towards them.
I leaned back on my chair, breathing in the fresh natural air of Maya's house. She liked planting small plants and nourishing them like her own child, no wonder her house smelled so fresh and natural. Her whole house was filled with different plants, most of the names didn't even exist in my dictionary.
Maya showed us her backyard, greenery blessing every part of it, butterflies playing around the leaves and birds singing with a rhythm as if inspired with the unique beauty of her garden.
Flashbacks of the time when my father was working on a plant reminded me, he was just as happy as when he first saw me after the first day of my school. I was too small, the images were blurred, the sound of his laugh was clear. My dad was the best dad in this world, he always understood me whenever I fought with my mother on anything.
I bit my lip, fresh tears were barely under my control when Skylar hit her shoulder not hardly with mine.
"Is everything alright?"
I gave her an 'I'm fine' smile and nodded.
"You don't look like that," she remarked as we walked on the road towards our house. Ashley lived on the other side of the road and mine and Skylar fell in the same neighbourhood.
"I'll be okay," I sighed. "I have to be. Tomorrow I have a date."
Skylar gave me a glance before breaking into a short laugh. "It sounds so weird from your mouth 'tomorrow I have a date.' I used to think that you would stay single forever."
Now that was magnifying.
"Forever is impossible, but I agree with the fact that I didn't believe I would go on a date willingly. Well, I guess it's because it's not planned by certain some idiot." I smirked.
Skylar took a moment to get that I was mentioning her, when she wiped her face at me, her lips moving away in bewilderment.
"What did you just say? You were the one who wouldn't try to know them, okay? All those guys were my best picks for you, how could you—"
I laughed loudly as Skylar bit her lip, running behind me as I squealed when I thought she near to grab my hand.
It was an actual fun to see her angry face whenever I disrespected her actions, she wouldn't feel bad about it, I knew. She trusts me so much that my every insult goes away into thin air after some cat-mouse run.
I just hoped that this never changes. I wanted us to stay like this forever.
