In all the werewolves stories Skylar had told me until now, mine seemed a bit different from them. I was living in peace, a mate holding no ounce of cold behaviour and to my relief, we didn't have a crazy holding grudge against us, except—I guess Ava. But she was an epitome of being ladylike so I didn't think she would attempt to do anything.
Alpha Lucas had been like an angel to me, treating me like his queen. It was an amazing feeling, I had almost forgotten that I was living in a world where werewolves existed. I guess I didn't fear them anymore.
If it wasn't for that incident that evening then I would have understood Lucas more properly and more early. I remember the incident, it was around five in the evening when I was going back home where Skylar and I used to live after buying my necessities. Around the corner, in another alley, I heard growls, like the aggressive ones.
When I stepped forward to see it, there I noticed a young girl being held by a crazy werewolf, he was growling while she apologized for something I wasn't aware of, by the looks of it the werewolf was having none of it and growled again holding her too close to himself.
Oh, God.
I didn't want to think over it again, but the image of his deadly white fangs drenching in her blood was not a nice part. Her neck was bleeding out of those nasty holes and he purred, lapping her blood. That was horrible! I swear.
Anyway, that was the sole reason for me to distance myself from Alpha Lucas, now that he seemed like a decent person I wanted to spend good quality time with my mate.
I took a right turn from the signal, my palms skillfully balancing with the smooth steering wheel. Lucas gave me one of his cars to get to our date address. Apparently, he was too busy and thought it would be a good idea if we met at the location. I agree that this part was a bit unromantic of him but at least he wasn't cancelling it, I was counting on it and was very excited about it.
There were still three hours for our date so I thought it would be nice if I drove to some good shopping mall out of the pack, not to buy but to roam and pass time.
I drove into the underground parking, quickly parking in the vacant space before anyone occupies. I turned to my side collecting my purse and my phone from the seat before going out.
I closed her door with a push, looking around for a lift when I heard the familiar voice of a lady.
"What a coincidence," Alpha Ava smiled, her pointed dark blue heels clicking as she approached me.
I raised a brow. "What are you doing here?"
Her scary smile only grew, although for strangers it might only look like an innocent smile. "Can't I come here?"
"You followed me?"
She gasped, placing a hand over her chest and said, "Luna Heaven, you're so rude."
"Why did you follow?" I asked, my tone showing how demanding I was.
"Can't we talk like friends?" She offered.
I sighed continuing my walk as I heard her follow me. "We are not friends, we can never be."
She grabbed my arm and stopped me. "I need to say something to you, it's very important."
"I'm busy," I blankly said, she tightened her hold when I attempted to walk.
"It's very important, you need to hear me." She gave me a tight smile which only had her receive a death glare for me.
Fine, let's see what she has to say.

To say I was surprised would be an understatement I was nearly knocked off with the amount of shock that struck me like a bullet to my heart when I saw the one and only—the one and only neighbour, who had treated me like her child when I was going through a hardship.
"Mama Sheryl," I whispered as I got up from the chair when I saw Mama Sheryl enter through the café door where Ava had brought me for the important talk.
I wasn't expecting this, the days we spent like mother and daughter were clear, she was very young and beautiful just like how she walked to where we were.
She glanced at me and smiled. "Hello, Heaven. I'm happy to see that you have grown up to a beautiful woman."
I gulped as tears fought for their arrival. The day after my father's funeral I was having a panic attack and the only person I could seek at that time was her, but like all others, she left me and looked how normal and unconcerned she looked.
"Don't you wanna sit?" Mama—no Sheryl raised a brow, pointing her hand at the chair I was sitting before, her white dress screamed rich and face brightening unusual like before. She changed completely from a broken and kind-hearted woman to a rich and—
I still had to find out after that.
I sat not wavering my gaze from her.
Sheryl greeted Ava as she greeted her back, that's how I got to know that they were relatives but didn't know-how.
She turned to me and noticed my pale face. "Heaven, are you alright?"
"Where were you all these days?"I demanded, my question valued more than hers
I thought she ignored me too when I saw her casually put her belongings on the coffee-coloured table. "I'm here to answer that, my Luna."
"What are you doing here?" I asked, my face losing its colour even more when I realised. "Are you a werewolf too?"
"Don't you understand English, she said she will explain," Ava snapped, but I bothered less about her.
"Are you a werewolf or—"
"Yes, I am," she confirmed. "I am a werewolf."
I blinked back the tears which trailed down anyway. "But how?"
"I'm here to explain it to you," she said. "You are in danger, Heaven."
"What danger?"
"Alpha Lucas isn't a good person," she said
How dare she—
"Save it," I grabbed my purse, ready to leave when Sheryl grabbed my wrist pulling me down on my seat.
"I am not joking." she looked serious, my heart for some reason clenched in fear, I tried to free my wrist but she kept her hold firm.
I glanced at Ava and she sighed. "It's true I like him, I was jealous that you were his mate but not me. But our main goal for this is to bring Alpha Lucas down. I still like him no doubt, I thought I could give him a chance to change or change him myself but I realised late I was wrong. I was on the urge of killing you but now I forced my main goal to bring him down."
"Why?" I whispered.
"He is a traitor," A familiar male voice spoke behind me as I turned behind connecting my eyes with blue ones.
My heart nearly stopped again when I saw who he was.
"Michael," I whispered.
