Chapter 4 - Aden Mils

Callon watched as the young man slowly approached him. As he watched him come over, he could not help but admire him. The young man had loose curly blonde hair that was the perfect length to not cover his eyes. He has bright golden eyes that made one almost not able to look away. He has a tender face with a pair of elf ears, but also so refined that you could tell he had a noble upbringing. Wearing a long white sleeves cape with a long-sleeved light blue laced up shirt, he looked very captivating. Black pants were settled into a pair of tall knee-high boots, they did not have any heel to them, so Callon could visibly tell that he was a lot taller than the boy. As Callon was admiring the boy, he heard a snort come from the shoulder of the boy.

Callon could immediately tell that the snort came from the boy's soul companion. Looking at the soul companion, he also had elf ears just as the boy. With blue eyes, and short curly blonde hair with just a piece of it sticking up. The soul companion is wearing a midnight blue hoodless cape that has stars patterning the back, there's clock hands working as the clasp. Directly underneath the cape he is wearing a high neck black long sleeve shirt that is tucked into a pair of white pants. His black boots also have midnight blue clock hands at the top of the boot.

'Big brother, the boy's companion is speaking to you, but you're too busy staring right now.' Callon suddenly heard Reil voice in his mind. He snapped back to his senses, and slightly blushed feeling embarrassed from blatantly staring.

"What did you say? Big brother wasn't listening." Reil spoke to the now quiet companion sitting on the boy's shoulder.

"I said, why does he have two soul companions? Is he in the Heavenly Realm? Why is it that he cannot talk? My Aden cannot speak either. My name is Enver by the way, his name is Aden Mils. We are here on a trip, just looking around." The soul companion named Enver just kept rambling on. Callon's eyebrows furrowed a little when he heard the boy, Aden, does not speak. For some reason, his heart ached when he found out he would not be able to hear him speak. Callon also felt a little anger start to rise because there must be a reason why Aden does not speak, but he knows it is not his place to ask. At least not right now.

Callon suddenly spoke, interrupting Enver's rambling.

"I do speak, I was just slightly distracted. What were you asking?"

"Why do you have two soul companions? Are you in the heavenly realm already at such a young age?"

"I don't know why I have two. I suddenly woke up this morning and there they were, laying on my chest. I don't know what the heavenly realm is, so I cannot be sure if I am or not."

"YOU DON'T KNOW ANYTHING THAT SIMPLE?! You just awakened? There is no way you can be in the second soul cultivator stage then, ah. Let me explain to you then. Soul cultivators have two stages, these stages are broken into four ranks each. The first stage is called Origin Spirit Realm. The ranks go as follows Origin – Profound – Spirit – True. The second stage is called Heavenly Spirit Realm. The ranks are Heaven – King – Emperor – Saint. There is only one Emperor spirit cultivator in the world of Arlenia. He is the ruler of the neutral land Orlun, and headmaster of Orlun Soul Academy. Arlenia is divided into four lands. Where we are is the human land called Candum. The dwarven land is to the east of Arcgate. To the south of Candum is the land of the elves, Arestin. If you were to go to the southeast of Candum, that is where you would find Orlun. More to the southeast of Orlun is a forest the Unknown Groves. This is where students of Orlun Soul Academy go to train. That should be all. Any questions? By the way, the only reason I am even explaining any of this to you is because Aden here asked me to, it seems he is taken an interest. So, thank him, not me."

Callon stood there frozen, taking in all the important information he has been waiting for. After a few seconds, Riel suddenly speaks. "Big brother is taking in all the information, he did not know anything, so we thank you. He is not particularly good at socializing, but I can tell he wants to get along with you. Especially you Aden."

Callon suddenly comes back to his senses after hearing what Reil has said. He looks up just in time to see Aden blush before he quickly covered his face with his hands. Callon also blushes, as if he had done anything embarrassing just then. A silence fills the area until suddenly Callon feels a pull on his hood. He looks over to see Neil staring at him. For only the second time since awakening, Neil speaks to him in his mind. "Uh, Big Brother. If you want to get along with someone, you also have to introduce yourself and as well." Callon feels even more embarrassed after realizing he had not introduced himself even though they had given him their names and so much information that was valuable to him. Callon clears his throat to rid himself of the embarrassment and then speaks. "I forgot to introduce myself, as Reil said, I'm not good with socializing so bear with me. My name is Callon. The girl on my right shoulder is Reil, and the boy on my left shoulder is her twin brother Neil. They are my soul companions who have just awakened today."

As he is speaking, he watches Aden face and reactions carefully. This only makes Aden blush once again. Before Callon could say anymore, there was a sudden noise behind him. When he turned around to look, there stood a middle ages handsome man that had short hair and slight stubble. He approached Aden and Callon, staring blankly at us both. Once the man noticed that Callon had two soul companions sitting on his shoulder, a sudden smile blossomed onto his face.

"Hello young man, my name is Gregor. I am the director of the Soul Hall in Candum. I was told by Marj to come here, and I can say that I am not disappointed. I overheard your conversation, and I think it would be a great idea for you to enroll in Orlun Soul Academy. What do you think?"

Callon just looked indifferently at the man, not really understanding how the man got to that conclusion so fast.

Both Aden and Enver were inwardly shocked how he could go from having a blushing and almost smiling face, to being completely indifferent in the next.
