CHAPTER 28: A Movie

After school, the students began streaming out of the classroom. Just as Togon stood up to leave, Crystal called out to him, "Hey, wanna go catch a movie after school? I got free tickets."

"A movie? What's that?" Togon asked, confused.

Crystal misunderstood, thinking that he was asking about the movie they were going to watch. "Its Axeman's Revenge 2. The first one was fantastic! This one's gonna be great too!" She replied enthusiastically, "So are you coming? Jenelle and Kelsey are coming along too."

"Umm..." Togon glanced to Gabe. Should he go? But he would feel insecure in this strange world without the protection of Gabe, the only one who knew who he really was.

"Can Gabe come along too?" Togon asked Crystal.

Crystal shook her head, "No... Unfortunately, we do not have enough tickets for her and all her bodyguards. But you shouldn't always stick with your cousin. You should hang out and have fun with us too! It's going to be fun, I promise."

That's right... he should try to be less dependent on Gabe. The "movie" sounded fun, and it wouldn't hurt to explore this world once in a while.

"Ok then, I'll inform Gabe first then I'll join you." Togon agreed to go.

Gabe glanced across to Togon, who was chattering away with his table partner. What's taking him so long? She had to go for her fencing practice.

Just then, Togon finally looked up and headed in her direction.

"Umm... Gabe? I'm not following you back. My friend invited me to a movie," Togon said hesitantly.

A look of surprise flashed across Gabe's face, then disappointment, then her usual poker face returned. "Do whatever you want."

"Uh... ok, then I'll be leaving now..."

"Wait, I almost forgot," Gabe said, stopping him. She swiped Ivan's phone out of his pocket and passed it to Togon.

"Use this to contact my bodyguards once you are done."

"Huh? Contact?" Togon asked, staring at the sleek rectangular object in his hands, confused.

Gabe quickly briefed him how to use the phone to call someone. "Press this button here. All the contacts would be inside. You can call Max to arrange to pick you up," Gabe said, pointing to Max's number.

"So what happens when I press on Max's 'number'?" Togon asked.

"You will be able to talk to him through this phone."

"Huh? How?" Togon was getting more muddled.

"You'll find out." Gabe said vaguely. She then turned on her heels and walked out.

Is Gabe still angry? He thought that Gabe had decided to forgive him when she helped him out in class just now. But it was still worth it to go to this 'school' place and explore more parts of this world.

"Come on, Togon! We have to catch the bus!" Crystal yelled and dragged Togon along.

Together, Togon and the girls rode on a big carriage called a 'bus'. Togon was amazed to find out that there were actually carriages that took people to places on a fixed route.

"Hey there, young man. You got to pay your fare," the bus captain called to Togon, who got on the bus without paying.

"But I don't have any money with me right now..." Togon looked to Crystal with pleading eyes.

"Gosh, how could the nephew of a billionaire forget his money... oh well, I'll pay but you'll have to treat me to a meal next time," Crystal said jokingly and paid the fare for Togon.

They took the bus to a mall and had their lunch before going for the movie. Carrying their drinks and popcorn, they entered the dark movie theater.

"What's going to happen now?" Togon asked nervously when they took their seats.

"We wait for the movie to start, duh," Jenelle said jokingly, "Is this your first time watching a movie?"

"Yeah, I never came to a place like this before..."

"WHAT???" The girls exclaimed simultaneously.

The other people in the cinema turned and glared at them for their disturbance.

"How's that possible! Are your parents very strict?" Kelsey asked in a lowered tone.

Just then, the dark screen in front of them came to life with a bright flash of light. Togon stared with wide eyes, shell-shocked.
