/Intro/

 I fell in love with her smile because it was odd- her words were sweet, but she looked strange. Her smile would unwind once she was alone, her eyes narrowed in tiredness, her legs looked weak, her arms almost dropping her books, and her stomach growling out of hunger, but- around others, she played the part of a hero with a smile. She saved many, helped others, defended herself, and took care of everyone, no matter what. She acted one way but was another- everyone saw her as a perfect doll, but I only saw a broken girl giving a smile for everyone because it brightened their days- her smile made them happy, and it made her happy too.

He wasn't like regular people; he didn't push me aside- he kept me close. He wanted to hear me, see the real me, and that scared me. He was able to tell the truth, see what others didn't, fight for what he wanted or knew what was right, no matter what I did- he always saw the happiness... why was he ok with being rejected? Why was he ok with pushing me over the finish line? Why was he ok with losing? Why was he ok with anything I said? Why was he ok with me yelling at him? Why was he ok with me? Why did he want me?

First Glance

  It's been months since the whole cheating fiasco; yes, I'm Ad's girlfriend after the entire thing, but the thought of him doing it again is still in the back of my head... It has been a weird summer.  Apparently, the school was set on fire, and no one knows who did it since the school footage was burned with the school.


  After the school burned, we were put to do online school since they have to rebuild it.  It's around September, and they still haven't finished.  Right now, I'm at the beach tanning with a few new friends- I met many new friends during online learning.  


  Ad is in India right now since he promised to be with his family for a few months till school was open again; I live in his apartment in the meantime because I have nowhere else to go, but he was ok with it.  He and J aren't on good terms since the whole cheating thing, and they kind of hate each other.


  I haven't seen Nicole in weeks- she's been distant and seems to ignore my attempts to get together.  Alyra, on the other hand, has been dating a real cute stud for a while now, so I get she's busy.


  J and I have been chilling the whole time other than when he has summer school- he ended up failing last year.


  He has been taking online summer school, so I help him every now and then, but his grades don't seem to be getting better.  He might just fail again and be a freshman once more- poor guy.


  "Hey Sue, have you seen Eli?" I pulled up my glasses to see my new friend Daniel- "No, I thought he was with you, Danielle and Anthony." he shook his head at me as I glanced at the ocean and saw a hand waving from the water!


  "ELI!" We both yelled, jumping into the water and swimming over to him as quickly as possible.  I arrived, grabbing him and pulling his tiny body to land.  I started to try and give him CPR, but nothing was working.


  Daniel tried again, and I now watched in horror- realizing the sad truth that Eli isn't waking up... Ever.
