Tension

The stalls weren't entirely exclusive so I worried about anybody seeing the glow coming from my stall, and if they would be curious enough to come looking for what was glowing. System what were those notifications earlier?

Murderous intent level up. Murderous intent now level 3. Damage resistance +1. Murderous intent level up. Murderous intent now level 4. 25 xp awarded. 205/200 xp. Leveling up.

That was a lot of notifications at once. Looks like Luke gave me something I wanted while he was being a jackass. I was one stamina away from being able to transform twice in one day. I frowned as the burning sensation went away. Now I was just left with the pain in my hands as the glow faded.

I leaned off the wall looking around quickly as I walked for the stall door. Unlocking it hurt my hands. My watch beeped as a notification popped up.

"Psychological exam," I groaned, "In an hour."

System exchange mp for hp.

HP 30/30. Mp 53/60.

I felt the difference immediately. My hands didn't have a single scratch on them anymore. No pain either. I clenched my fists, and slowly loosened them back up. I shoved my irritation away, and stepped out of the bathroom.

I started walking towards the office number on my scheduled psych exam. I hoped they wouldn't ask too many questions. I didn't want to talk to them all that much, but since I didn't want to stick out I had to go. I ended up lingering in the small waiting area outside his office until I was called in. I hoped he would just stay on mental health, and away from the subject of my body.

He'd probably be able to spot it if I lied to him. Especially if I did it more than once. I was called in, and I sat across from him calmly. I was still angry, but it didn't reach my face yet. If he said anything to irritate me it would show itself again.

"I need to talk about that incident you had in fitness class this afternoon," He looked at me steadily, "About how you attacked a student."

"He's been coming after me for weeks," I leaned back into the chair, "Or did you miss that part."

"You broke four of his ribs," he continued, "You could be court marshaled for this kind of behavior."

I clenched my fist, and held it up to him. Glad I'd taken the time to wipe the blood off my knuckles.

"Does it look like I punched a guy with a hardening ability hard enough to break his ribs?" I smiled tensely, "Seriously. I would have had to break my hands to do that much damage to him."

He stared at my knuckles for a few seconds.

"We have witnesses confirming that you hit him," He flicked his eyes back up to my face.

"He probably broke them doing something else," I smiled falsely, "Then pissed me off so he'd be able to blame me for it."

"That confirms that you have an anger issue," he leaned back, "You'll probably get court marshaled for an anger problem eventually."

"I'll try to avoid that," I leaned forward, "Is that all you wanted?"

"No," he looked me up than down, "You seem to be emotionally detached as well. It wouldn't be a problem if you didn't show so much potential as a sniper. As a marksman. If we train you, and you turn on us."

"That would be stupid," I yawned, "Luke, and his buddies have been coming after me for weeks. I'm short tempered, and he's been stepping on my nerves for weeks. I'll avoid him for now. At least until I cool off a bit." I frowned for a second, "I don't feel like I fit in here just yet so I haven't been expressing myself very well, and all these workouts." I yawned again, "I just don't have the energy to act all energetic all the time."

He stared at me for a little while.

"I'm not sure about you kid," he focused on me for a second, "It would be nice if you would just open up to me."

Ability use detected. Would you like to block the ability?

(Yes) (No)

Yes block it. I smiled warmly.

"I don't know what you're talking about," I kept up the warm smile, "I told you everything already."

"Alright you're free to go," he leaned back in his chair.

"Thank you sir," I kept the smile up as I stood up, "Goodbye."

I left the room quickly. Dropping my smile the instant I closed the door. I ran for my room. System What ability did he use on me?

Unknown. Insufficient data.

That's great. It would be bad if I'd responded wrong. I stopped at my room, and opened the door. I stepped in, and closed the door quietly. Ethan was there waiting for me.

"What happened to you?" Ethan asked.

"I broke my hands," I walked to my room, "I didn't want them to see them healing so I went to the bathroom. Then I had to go talk to some psychologist for hurting Luke. Did they give you trouble after I left?"

"I mean what happened with you, and Luke?" Ethan continued.

"Oh," I pulled my shirt off, "That nasty business. He punched me, and I lost my temper."

"You lost your temper," Ethan sounded a little disappointed.

I closed the door, and finished stripping. Trading my dirty clothes for the clean ones out of the bin. I switched forms, and opened the door. Going back out into the common area. I was bigger now, and my wings were now fully formed.

They were still tiny, but now it was obvious that they were real wings.

"You grew again!" Ethan rushed towards me.

I was now up to a little taller than his belly button. Ethan grabbed my horn, and pulled my head down a little as he sat down cross legged in front of me.

"You're little horns are big enough to grab now," Ethan smiled.

"I'm not a puppy," I pulled out of his grip.

"You're just as cute as one," Ethan grabbed both sides of my face as he leaned in close.

"Stop it," I yanked back, "Quit touching me like that. Weren't you angry that I attacked Luke earlier?"

"Worried actually," Ethan frowned, "You're not usually that aggressive."
