Third Person's POV
Qalif's hand closed over Jake's, squeezing it hard. Jake looked up and finally noticed him. He tried to conjure a smirk but ended up wincing when Qalif tightened his grip.
"Ah, I remember... You're working here. So stupid of me to forget you're a secretary now." His voice was mocking him, yet the other remained composed and merely let go of his hand.
"I'm surprised that it took you so long to realize that." Jake's smile dropped and his jaw hardened.
"Don't feel so high and mighty just because you're wearing suit and tie, Qalif." He snapped, his eyes drilling holes on the expressionless face in front of him. "That's a downgrade compared to the military attire and combat shoes you wore a year ago. You've stooped so low."
