Chapter 30

"I'm going to be sick, Dolly."

I have been hyper-sensitive for three days, pacing back and forth, thoughts disconnected.

"Just stick your finger down your throat," Dolly looks serious and pops her gum in her orange spandex. "You have a fever or what? Eat too much?"

I frown. "No, Dolly," I sigh and close my eyes. "Emotionally drained."

"Oh, because you have to tell Jules everything today?"

I stare at her. "Great guess, Dolly." I make a face like she's mentally disabled.

I take a breath and look down, willing the feeling of dread to leave me, wishing I had this confidence that he will not hate me. Please don't hate me. I wipe my nose as I sit in my room, the beautiful one that they gave me at the Castle. This grand room feels empty, almost like a prison. I am back at the Sky Colonies, arriving here late last night. Milli said this is my home now, even though there is no major threat to my crystal anymore. My protection is still a top priority.
