The Prince of the Vampires

It's been three days since my announcement and my mates are still hyped about being dads.

"I love you," Aaron said to my baby bump, both he and Stephen were placing small kisses over it.

Just above the baby bump, dark purplish marks were sprawled. On my nipples, on my collarbone, on my neck. Everywhere.

“You know what,” Aaron broke the comfortable silence that coated us. “Let’s buy our pups some things.”

“Isn’t it too early for that?” I asked.

“Nope,” Stephen said. “It’s never too early. Besides, we needed to buy something too.”

“Something?” I asked and they both shrugged.

There was a soft knock on the door, "Alphas, Luna?" It was Bentley.

"What is it?" Stephen answered.

"Prince Jewel from the East Sanctum is here," Bentley said.

We came downstairs a couple of minutes later with Landon leading us to the Grand Hall, where a long table with food is prepared. A man in a black suit stood at the large window, facing back from us

Prince Jewel is a vampire. The vampires have a different type of society from us. While werewolves have packs, they have covenants. And since the almost extinction of vampires versus humans two hundred years ago, they settled on four large covenants. North, West, South, East (which are ruled by Dukes) and Haverhill (ruled by the vampire king) sanctums.

‘I could feel that he's a very strong vampire,’ I told Klint.

‘He's weaker than Avery though,’ he remarked that made me smirk.

"Prince Jewel, what can we do for you?" Aaron greeted, shaking Prince Jewel's hand.

He raised his eyebrow and looked at me. He's staring at my soul, "What is this abomination?" I gulped at what he said.

Holy steaks. Is he one of those stereotypic bad people? Those who couldn’t accept people from the lower class. I think he is.

But then he burst out laughing. Together with my mates.

"I'm only kidding!" Prince Jewel said, still laughing. "Luna," he held my hand and kissed it, "I am Prince Jewel Haverhill, running Duke of the East Sanctum. But you can call me Jules."

"Jules, what can we do for you?" Aaron asked. There was a slight intimidation in his voice.

"Oh, come on Aaron. Don't give me that–," Jules rolled his eyes. "Look, I would like to invite Uncle Avery for–"

"Wait," I cut him off, "Uncle Avery?"

"Oh, gosh," Jules rolled his eyes playfully, "Princess Ophelia Haverhill was the daughter of Vladimir Haverhill, the King of the Vampires."

"W-What?"

"She was the eldest child, and that would make Uncle Avery next in line," Jules said. "That is if he has a vampire ma–"

"I don't," Avery walked inside, Charlie held his hand. He held a stoic look, one that says ‘Don’t even bother talking, I'm not gonna agree’.

"You've already seen your mate," Jules muttered under his breathe. He held on one of the chairs and gulped. The distress in his aura was evident. As if he was scared for his life.

As if he was scared for everyone’s lives.

"I'm sorry Jewel, but my mate is a werewolf," Avery said.

I quirked a brow and asked my mates, "What's wrong with that?"

"Well, since we're vampires, we need a vampire heir. Dad agreed to let Avery have the throne when his mate is a vampire, but he's not," Jules answered and was about to tear up.

"And, what's wrong with that?" I asked him, a bit insulted. So what if Avery did not have a vampire mate? And what if he doesn’t want to rule? Even when I didn’t know Avery for a very long time, I know he didn’t crave power.

"We're all gonna die," he mumbled. I only raised my brow and was about to say something when he cut me off, "The one who is next in line, my older brother, hates other races. Like at all."

Klint rolled his eyes and muttered something under his breathe.

‘Klyde, ask Jewel if he has someone with him.’

Normally, I would ask Klint why. But after Margaret and Sophia’s rescue, I didn’t question him anymore. He knew things more than me and I still have to extract those information from him.

I just need a good timing.

"Jules, is someone accompanying you?" I looked at him who sat on one of the chairs and eating a turkey leg, he's clearly panicking. He was eating everything like a hog.

"Yes, I have my convoy and a Lord with me, why?"

We all faced the door where voices of people arguing outside.

"You can't go inside," I heard Margaret argue.

"I am Lord Orson Firefang! I need to get inside!"

The door busted open revealing a skinny teenage vampire. He was wearing a black suit but it was messy, he's messy. After opening the door, he looked like he could finally breathe after a very long time.

Margaret was pulling his hand, trying to drag him away. “Sir, please.”

"Orson," Jules called out, "Was there an attack–"

"Mates," Avery, Charlie and Orson said at the same time.

"Oh, my goddess," Margaret said in shock. She was shaking her head.

We all chimed, "You've got to be kidding me."
