Picking The Suit

I laid on the bed, my body undergoing the healing process on my throat.

"Stupid mates," I cursed and sat up, feeling the fabric of the cotton sheets. It was comfortable.

"You seem awake." I jumped in shock when Margaret spoke. "Sorry. I was assigned to guard you until you wake up."

"What?" I quirked my brow.

"You're almost due, Klyde. And Olivia… she's still out there," Margaret said. "Let's just wish she wouldn't come to us."

"She will," I said. "But we're not going to let her win."

"That's why I think we should just do a very small intimate wedding for now," she said. "Just until Olivia is caught. Then we can have a grander wedding."

"You know my mates will not allow that." We got downstairs and into our favorite spot, the kitchen.

Brandon and Bryce were already there along with Gaither and Erwin.

"Great, you're awake," Gaither said. "I couldn't wait for you to become my in law."

"Yeah. Me too," I said, completely flustered. I forgot that Gaither was Aaron's father for a moment. I could often see him as a man in our generation since his– argh! Erwin is even older. I also forgot about that.

"Why are you thinking so deeply?" Aaron asked from behind me. They ran their hands down my arm that sent shivers down my spine.

"I-I– just… sex," I blurted out. Everyone looked at me. I covered my reddening face with my hands in embarrassment.

Why can't Aaron and Stephen keep their arms to themselves when we're in public?!

Margaret clicked her tongue, "Must be the hormones."

The others echoed her in unison, "Must be."

After my 30 seconds of shame, we started planning the wedding. From the outfits to the date, to the venue. Although we knew the Witxh has only been lurking in the corners, we wanted our first wedding to be the most special.

Our pack had requested support from the neighboring and allied packs. Even Bryce's coven and his Fellows were up for guard duty.

Unlike wolves who address their acquainted packs as "allies", Wiccans used "fellows". This was only one of the distinction of the races.

Margaret, Brandon, Avery, and Erwin were showing me the designs of the suits I would be choosing from. My mates were with the other pack members while I was stuck with these four who are like children.

They have chosen different clothes and wanted me to wear all four of them. Neither of them wanted to back out.

They stood in front of me on the alpha suite living room, thoroughly debating like they were talking about how to end world hunger.

I only shook my head and scanned the book. A designer from the pack sent us the book where we would be choosing from. He will be tailoring the dress himself along with his mate.

Of course, since my mates are overprotective, they assigned four guards to the designer in case Olivia would target him.

'Are you both done?' I asked my mates through the alpha link.

'Why is it so hard to choose the clothes?' Stephen sighed.

Aaron only chuckled, 'Remember that our motif is gold and silver. The theme is moon. Like there's any other theme to choose from.'

'Okay,' Stephen and I chorused before shutting the link off.

I flipped through the pages and gasped at what I saw.

It was a beautiful white suit that has shiny gold detailing. There were also golden sequins on the collar and cuffs. A subtle gold moon-shaped detailings and curves paraded all over the suit.

"It's beautiful," I said that made the four look at me. They placed their chosen suits down and walked over, only to gasp at the sight.

"I'll call the Stephen," Margaret said. I looked at her in confusion and she added, "Let's tell him we found the appropriate suite. The designer can mix-match the designs using this suit as reference. Unless you want to look ridiculous in your wedding while wearing three completely different suits. Your pick."

"Touché," I told her and she only snorted. "Hello Stephen? We have chosen the perfect suit. Let's just ask the designer to tailor yours and Aaron's from this design."

"Finally," I could hear Stephen from the phone. "Tell Klyde I miss him and I love him. Thanks Marge."

The four cooed and teased me.

"Someone already won," Brandon teased.

Avery called his brother and told the same thing. I could also hear his voice from the phone.

"Thank you Ave. Tell Klyde I miss him and I love him."

The four even got wilder. If they could, they would push me around and scream like they were summoning our patron god or something. But since my baby bump is getting even bigger, they opposed from doing it.

"How long is it till you're due anyway?" Erwin asked. "Your kids are technically my grandson."

I grimaced at what he said. "That's sort of disturbing."

"I'm over 60, Klyde. Get over it," he snickered.

I chuckled and answered him, "I'll be due next month. By then, I hope this Olivia thing is solved. It's too stressing for me."

"You have no idea how it was so stressing when Aaron and Stephen were still in their mothers' wombs," Avery said.

"True," Erwin said and told me the tragedy that happened in the past.

Maybe calling it a "tragedy" is too much but something happened, all right.

When Aaron and Stephen's respective mothers were pregnant, there was a disease that scattered like plague. A lot of wolves had red marks on their noses and their face would get pale.

Although no one died because of it, everyone looked like clowns in the two packs. Erwin even showed me some photos and it looked ridiculous.

"I think I'd rather face that than Olivia," I said and flipped through more pages until I saw someone familiar.

It was two men holding hands in the background. The light was against the camera so if you don't look at it clearly, you wouldn't spot them.

"Hey Erwin who are these?" I asked.

The smile on his face fell. "Those are London and Paris. 40 years ago, they said they were mates. But then we did not believe them since we weren't as progressive."

"Oh," I let out. "What happened to them?"

"I think you better hear it from your mates, but please be careful upon mentioning their names," he said.

My forehead scrunched in confusion "What? What did they do?"

"I can just say that… they became rogues," Erwin said. "And killed someone."

I couldn't stop my gut from falling. There was one name that popped into my head after hearing Erwin.

Celestine.
