I stared at the ceiling when bedtime came. The wedding will be in a week but everything was already planned.
But what wasn't planned was my knowledgeable of Celestine's murderers.
Two same-sex wolves that was banished from the pack who turned rogues.
It wasn't clear what they wanted. Did they wanted revenge or acceptance?
"Stephen?" I called out. He moved his arm that was over me. As always, they were wrapping their big, strong bodies on me, afraid to let go.
"What is it, babe?" he whispered with slurred words. He was obviously sleepy. What am I doing? I think I'll just– "Rules, babe. Tell me anything."
I sighed and looked at him. He was already facing me. His intense look from his light brown eyes that still seemed to lit even the dark.
"Don't get mad but… could you tell me about the gay mates before?"
His eyes widened, lips agape and his arms loosened. There was a moment of pause before he took a deep breath and sat up.
Aaron was already awake, watching us while his arms remained over me.
"How did you know about those bastards?" Stephen asked with a sharp tone. Yep, he's angry.
'You're so low on feeling the air, Klyde,' Klint snickered that made me scoff.
'You should've warned me then,' I retorted.
'You know I can't,' Klint argued.
'And why is that?'
'Because I'm as low as you. We're both stupid about feeling the air beforehand.'
'You betcha.'
"They…" Stephen trailed off that made me refocus my attention to him. "They were nice people. But then they said they were mates. Our pack wasn't as open at that time so we decided to discuss it thoroughly. We often asked them that was it really the Pull?"
"They always said 'yes', so we didn't minded it. We said maybe the Moon Goddess made them for each other. That was until they said they met Howl."
"The Patron God of Shapeshifters?" I asked to which Stephen nodded.
"Yes. They said to–" he stopped that made me worry. "I– err, it's kinda stupid but I kind of swore to tell things regarding Celestine by her grave."
So, it really did involved Celestine.
"Would you mind a late night run?" he offered and I nodded.
The three of us got off the bed and left a note in the kitchen.
'The three of us are out by Celestine's grave. If we don't make it back by dawn, send backup.
–A&K&S'
"I want that for our wedding," I said. Aaron chuckled, finishing the note and placing it on the packhouse island counter.
"Let's go?" Stephen asked to which I nodded.
We shifted and ran to the grave. Although I could sprint, my mates forced me to slow down because I was pregnant. Even in my wolf form the bump was evident.
'You gained weight,' Aaron said.
I pouted. Will they not like me any–
'You look so f*cking sexy when you gain weight,' Stephen followed with a wink.
I shook my heads to remove the negative thoughts. Once again, these are my mates. Anything I would do would only make them want me more.
I know it sounds like I'm bragging but whatever. It's true.
We got to the grave and reverted back. We were all naked that made me get flustered.
Celestine, I swear we won't do vulgar things in front of your grave.
My mates yawned and stretched. Their muscles were flexed that made me lick my lips and gulp.
Although, I won't promise anything.
"Where was I?" Stephen asked. "Right. They met Howl. London and Paris seemed to get… crazier as days passed by. They said to worship Howl instead of the Moon Goddess. They said that we deemed a sacrifice for our Patron God. They were both saying crazy things that worried the pack."
"Not long after, they burned several houses as sacrifice to Howl. The only good thing about that was that no one was hurt. They did it on a full moon and we were all at the grand hall, praising the Moon Goddess. It was the last straw. We decided to kick them out and then they got angry."
"So, they kidnapped you for revenge?" I asked.
Stephen pursed his lips and shook his head. "They said that I should be sacrificed because Howl needed my soul. Because it was–"
"Part of the Key," Aaron finished. "I was almost kidnapped by a group of rogues and they said the same thing."
"What?" I asked. "What does that even mean?"
"I don't know, babe," Stephen said and looked at Celestine's wolves. "I was exploring that day and they took it as a chance to kidnap me. Celestine knew so she went after me. There were a lot of them and–"
I crashed my lips to Stephen. Who was starting to tear up. I didn't know the right words to say. My hormones are preventing me from saying anything right. I already told them that so I did the only thing I know.
"It's perfect," Stephen said.
“You’re perfect,” Aaron added.
My mates never fail to make my heart flutter every single day. It was like every day I spend with them pass, I only fall deeper in love. I just couldn’t help this feeling inside me.
I just love them so much.
“I also want a kiss,” Aaron snorted. “Or do I have to cry too?”
Stephen scoffed and smacked our mate. “Jerk.”
“Let’s jerk,” Aaron wiggled his eyebrows.
I shook my head and pulled them closer together. We sat on the gentle grass and laid on the ground, feeling the cold dew of the grass.
“I feel sleepy,” I whispered.
“Let’s sleep here,” Stephen said. “Good night.”
“Good night,” Aaron followed.
“Good night.”
With that, I closed my eyes only to open them and find myself in a bench. Everything was white and endless.
“Hello?” I called out but no one answered.
‘You’re here,’ a female voice said.
I turned and gasped at what I saw.
Celestine was standing in front of me.
