Adoption

'Klyde,' she called out with an ethereal voice.

"Why are you here, Celstine?" I asked. "Where am I?"

'Between the border of Life and Death, of Creation and End,' she said. 'You should be careful.'

"If it's against Olivia, then I think we're handling it righ now," I replied.

Celestine worriedly smiled but shook her head, 'No. A greater danger is coming.'

"Anothe one?" I whined. "Can't they just wait until I give birth or something? These people. Seriously."

She chuckled and nodded, 'I will halt their movements. But please remember, before the dawn broke the day after your wedding, lives will emerge.'

"So basically, I will give birth the midnight after my wedding?" I asked.

'I wish I could let you savor your honeymoon but you will have to postpone it,' Celestine said.

"Oh, trust me Celestine. Everyday of my life is a honeymoon," I snorted. "Wait, how will I know that you're the real thing?"

'The horse is carved beneath the patched carpet,' was all she said. I felt myself sinking and I woke up with the sunlight blinding me.

"Are you okay?" Aaron asked, sitting up with me.

"Y-Yeah," I said. "I think I saw Celestine in my dream."

Stephen was the one who sat up this time, "You saw her? What did she say?"

"That I'll give birth a few hours after our wedding and something about a horse," I said. Stephen held my shoulders, looking at me straight in the eyes.

"What did she say about the horse?" he pleaded.

"The horse is carved beneath the patched carpet," I repeated what her sister said.

Stephen's hand loosened before they dropped on either side of me. There were tears brimming in his eyes.

"That's what she said," he whispered. I asked him what it meant and he told me Celestine whispered something before she closed her eyes. "The horse symbolizes the her being a Titaness."

Stephen led us to their old packhouse. People still lived here, bowing their heads at us while we roamed the halls until we saw a large wooden door.

"This is the Alpha's Office. An Alpha Suite was non-existent before," Stephen said and opened the door.

Dust greeted us along with an untouched office. Shelves brimming with books, paperworks stacked on the desk. It was a typical office.

Stephen walked in the middle of the room and stared at the carpet. "Once, I accidentally ripped a part of this carpet. My sisters helped me repatch them."

"I also got in trouble because of that," Aaron snorted. "Your father told my father about why it got ripped in the first place."

"So, who tore it?" I asked.

They looked at each other before chuckling. "We were fighting and then Stephen tried to claw me. Instead, he clawed the carpet."

Stephen lifted the dusty old carpet and a carving of two horses unveiled. The horses were running while looking at each other. One was a few steps forward while the other was behind it, seemingly conjoining their bodies.

"These is the mark of Celestine and Kaitlyn," Stephen explained.

The floorboard that the mark was carved was floating slightly. We looked at each other before decided to rip it open. What greeted us were books, old books.

"Celestine did study magic after all," Stephen said. "At least she tried to study."

"But she failed," Aaron said. "A countless times I might add."

"Yeah," Stephen chuckled and brought the books out.

I inspected closer and they were the same as the ones in Olivia's treehouse. Runes, spells, history, and mostly about the Moon Goddess.

"Why did she collected these?" I asked.

"Celestine was always curious of the Moon Goddess," Stephen said. "She had always been fascinated by our creator. She even tried to use these spells."

I could only let out a breath after seeing her collection. "Can I use them?"

Stephen kissed my forehead, "She told you where it was. I know she wanted you to use these."

"But I can't carry them," I pouted.

My mates chuckled and Aaron spoke, "That's why you were given two muscular, capable, handsome, and loving mates."

"I hate that Stephen is rubbing you off with a different kind of influence," I deadpanned.

Stephen scoffed before leaning in, "And I like to rub you off with something else I have in mind."

I could feel my face flush. I stood and pointed at the books. "Pick them u-up. Deliver them to the S-Suite!"

"Yes, sir!" they chorused.

I got out and was greeted by a doll-looking boy. "Hey, Nox."

This boy seemed to make me feel something inside me. Like a hidden maternal instinct. Like the first time he hugged me, I felt like I had to protect him.

Like he was very special to me.

He smiled and hugged me, avoiding the bump in my stomach. "Thank you."

"For what?"

He was about to say something when Roslyn called, "Nox. There you are– Luna Klyde." She bowed her head at me and I bowed back.

"Queen Roslyn."

"Please," she raised her hands to stop me. "I am not a queen anymore. My pride had been wiped out."

"You're still a queen to me," I smiled. Roslyn smiled back.

"Nox, what are you doing?"

Nox looked down, seemingly embarrassed. "I-I…"

"It's okay," I said to her. Nox just hugged me and he avoided the babies too, so it's okay."

"I'm sorry for the inconvenience, Luna," Roslyn apologized. "Nox isn't always the type to talk. He's always shy."

"It's okay, it's no biggie. Had Erebus calmed down yet?" I asked.

Roslyn gently pulled Nox away from me, the loss of his warmth instantly made me pout.

"Sir Erebus had been visiting Nox everyday," Roslyn said. "But he still respected Nox. And he's also containing himself because of Madam Alicia's spell."

I nodded, "Good, good. So, why are you here and not in the packhouse?"

"We plan on moving," Roslyn said. The smile on my face was wiped off.

"What?"

"We're cats. And we hunt in heated environment," she said. "The forest seems to be too cold for us."

"And Little Nox too?" I asked.

Nox shook his head. "N-Not me. Mate here."

"I want to let Nox stay but I don't know who can help him adjust," Roslyn said. "He also has the genes of a king so he needs to train a lot."

"We'll take him in," Aaron said from behind me. My face lit up after he said.

They were carrying the books like I ordered them too and walked towards us.

"Nox is a sweet child," Stephen said. "If Klyde wouldn't mind, we'll adopt him."

I shook my head and hugged them, "I don't mind."

A hug from behind me made me yelp in surprise. I turned and saw Nox hugging me.

"Please. Adopt Nox."
