Shopping with Nox

I gave Roslyn a hug, "Please be careful."

"We will," Roslyn replied. "Please take care of our little Nox."

"What happened to him anyway?" I couldn't help but ask. "He doesn't seem to speak a lot."

"He was tortured by his father after the bastard knew that Nox was gay," Roslyn seethed. "I'm sorry. I'm just so angry because I couldn't do anything."

I gently rubbed her arm in comfort, "It's okay. He's with us now. I will do anything in my power to take care of Nox."

"Thank you so much, Luna Klyde," Roslyn said. "We will never forget your help."

"Don't mention it," Aaron said and hugged his friend. "Y'all be careful now, okay? Text me when you get over there."

"Okay, thank you once again."

And with that, Roslyn and the werecats left.

Nox sat in the Alpha Suite living room, watching a cartoon.

"Are you hungry, Nox?" I asked and sat beside him.

Nox shook his head. He refocused his attention back on the large television.

"Did you watch TV back then?" I keep on trying to start a conversation for him. I will do whatever it takes for Nox to open up to me.

I am now his father.

Once again, he shook his head.

"Okay." I gave up. For now. "Just tell me if you need anything, okay? I'll be in the kitchen downstairs to find Margaret. We'll come up here and talk later, okay?"

Nox looked at me, smiled, and nodded. He then returned to the screen.

I smiled and got out, my mates leaning over the walls of the hallway.

"How is it?" Stephen asked.

"He's still not talking much," I sighed. "But he's responding."

"Darn his father," Aaron cursed. "Nox is such a precious boy."

We got to the elevator and went down to find our friends.

"I bet he's only thin because his father tortured him," Stephen asked to which we agreed on.

"King genes requires a strong body. He couldn't just receive the power and not destroy himself if he's weak," Aaron added.

One thing that made me happy is that I wasn't the only one who cared for the boy. My mates were as equally worried too, willing to take him in even when it was last minute.

"We'll go to town later today," Aaron said. "Let's shop for Nox's clothes."

"We had already prepared the papers," Stephen chimed.

I stopped in my track, "What?"

They smiled at me. Stephen spoke, "Well, after we saw how you look at Nox, we couldn't help but process things."

"It was as if you were looking at us but with another kind of love," Aaron said.

I chuckled and all of us chorused, "Parental."

I changed my mind and we all went to town that late morning. We figured that we will eat lunch at the mall or at a nearby restaurant, depends on where Nox will be comfortable.

And someone is with us too.

"How are you, Erebus?" I asked.

"I-I'm okay, Luna," he replied, taking a glance at Nox who was looking at the window.

I was sitting in between them, Aaron was driving while Stephen was in the passengers seat.

"So, why did you come today?" I teased. "You want to buy something for Nox too?"

"N-No," he squeaked. My mates were raising their brows, glancing at the rearview mirror from time to time. "I just want to hang out."

"Okay," I grinned.

We got to the mall and the first time we tried a shirt for Nox, he shook his head.

"Do you not like it?" I asked.

"I-I do…" Nox stuttered. "Don't... want Luna spend money for me."

I couldn't help but chuckle, "Don't worry, little Nox. I'm happy to spend money for you."

He didn't have a choice. We made him pick clothes and he always picks the ones with the lowest price.

Money wasn't a problem for us, he knew that, but he didn't use it to his advantage. He still considers everything

After our shop, we got to a restaurant that was owned by the pack.

Most of the customers were werewolves, including the staff. They gave us a slight nod in respect while we entered and ordered.

"What do you want?" I asked Nox.

He skimmed through the menu and chose the cheapest meal.

"Are you sure?" I clarified.

He nodded his head, "Y-Yes, I am."

"Okay," I said. "Two of the salmon sandwich for us please."

My mates and Erebus took their order and we waited for it to arrive. The restaurant had booths with a square table and surrounding seating area. My mates and I were in the middle, Nox on one side and Erebus on the other.

From time to time, I would awe at the sight of Nox blushing when Erebus would stare at him. He was shy towards his mate and his mate was waiting patiently for him.

My mates, on the other hand, would glare at the squad captain if he looks at Nox.

'He's too old for Nox,' Aaron said through the link.

I scoffed, 'But they're mates.'

'And age does matter. Even for mates,' Stephen fought back.

This time, I scoffed even louder. 'You're both not getting some to–'

"You two should get together," my mates chorused, making Erebus choke on his water, and Nox blush even harder. "Our lives depend on how you two get together."

I facepalmed and shook my heads. Oh, Aaron and Stephen.

'Horny bastards!'
