I sat in my bed inside the hospital. My mates were out to process the papers for our pups while I waited for Charlie to come back.
I still couldn't believe what he suggested for Kaitlyn to help us. Did he forget that she betrayed us? I mean, I don’t have a grudge against Kaitlyn. It was just painful for me. Even until now.
"Are you okay? Aaron asked. He got inside the hospital room and sat beside me, intertwining our hands.
"Yeah," I replied, looking at our hands. "Where's–"
"You seem to be dozing off," Stephen cut me off as he entered the room, closing the door. He went to my right side and intertwined our hands.
"Does Charlie's suggestion still bother you?" Aaron kissed my hand in comfort.
"I still couldn't get the look she gave when she looked at me. I feel scared. I could somehow remember Olivia," I confessed. "It held mixed emotions of guilt and sadness. It was eerie."
The room was filled with silence after. My mates like to comfort me in silence because it's the most perfect way for me to cope with everything. Words followed by words stresses me out. They just know when and how to comfort me. That's why I love them so much.
"Where is Charlie anyway?" I asked, finally breaking the silence.
"He's out contacting Kaitlyn," Stephen replied the cold bitter tone. "He still believes she could help us."
Stephen groaned. "Do we really need her help?"
"If it's for the good of the babies, I think we do," Aaron sighed. No one was comfortable in doing this.
I mean, with werewolves, betrayals are one of the worst thing things. Being betrayed with someone you fully trust almost feels like being betrayed by your mate. Our trust and faith in our loved ones are great, but fragile.
The day had passed with me waiting for Charlie inside a hospital bed with my mates. We talked about things from here on. Nox even came to visit earlier but it's the afternoon and he needed to take a nap.
"Kids should take a nap in the afternoon," I nagged like an old mother.
Stephen chuckled, "You sound like a granny."
"Would you still love me then?" I asked.
"Don't even think that we'll ever stop loving you," Aaron said. "That will never happen."
Stephen flicked my forehead, "How many times do we have to tell you that?"
"You know I'm always anxious," I pouted.
They kissed my temples and was about to go lower when the door opened.
The nurse came with our two older pups for their breastfeed. I had to smack Stephen in the face when he stared at me while I was breastfeeding the pups.
"You're such a perv," I narrowed my eyes.
"After our little one is okay, we're gonna do it all week," Stephen said. I scoffed and turned to Aaron to knock some senses into our other mate but he had the same look in his face.
"I really can't believe you guys," I sighed.
"Have you decided on a name yet?" Aaron asked.
I shook my head and thought about it. "I have never really thought of the names for our pups. I was too busy thinking about Olivia, that I almost neglected my children. Maybe this is the reason why our youngest one is in peril."
"No it's not," Stephen whispered. "You still need to control your thoughts, babe. And I need to contain myself."
With a sigh I look out the window. That was when Charlie came barging on the door.
"Alphas, Luna, she's here," he informed. "But the guards won't let her in. I tried to talk–"
'Let her in,' Aaron commanded from the link.
'But make sure to guard her well,' Stephen added.
A series of 'Yes, Alphas' followed.
"We will come down now," Aaron said and kissed my forehead. Stephen nodded and followed our mate, kissing my lips this time.
I grabbed Stephen's hand, "Are you sure about this?"
He gave me a smile, "Yes babe. For our pups".
I nodded, "Okay. I'll follow you later."
They both nodded and went downstairs with Charlie. Meanwhile, I stared at my pops. Their sleeping faces, so small, so gentle, so vulnerable.
I leaned closer and kissed their foreheads and whispered, "I will protect both of you. I will protect all of you. Even if it costs my life. I will protect you."
The nurse came back and returned to babies to the nursery. I gave her and the guards a nod.
"If anything happens, call us."
"Yes luna," they responded.
I went down to the pack living room and felt the heavy tension in the air. There I saw Kaitlyn, smiling at me.
"You look well," she said.
"I am not well," I replied firmly.
"I came here to apologize," Kaitlyn said. "And help you."
"What do you know?" I asked. "Let's start with that. But first, why? Why are you doing this?
"I just want to let you know that I regret it. I regret it everything I've done to everyone," she said with pleading eyes. "I was filled with grief, sorrow, and longing. I'm sorry Klyde. I'm so sorry."
"If you're really sorry don't even try betraying us again," Aaron warned.
Steven held him and whispered, "Are you sure about this? After seeing her, I want to rip her apart."
"We have no other choice," Aaron answered.
"She could betray us again maybe she's even working for Olivia," Stephen argued.
"We need to take the risk. We need to save or pup," Aaron said.
Stephen let out a sigh of frustration, "Fine. But one slip up and she's gone forever this time."
I smiled at him, "Thank you."
"You're lucky I love you," Stephen pouted.
Kaitlyn cleared her throat that made us look at her.
"First of all, let me tell you. I have ascended," she said.
I knit my brow in confusion, "Ascended?"
Kaitlyn smiled, "I am not a werewolf anymore. I am now a titan."
