The morning came and we waited for Kaitlyn to come back.
I stood in the front porch along with my mates and the guards. Kaitlyn should be back with the cure any moment now.
"You look sleepy," Margaret said, walking over to us.
"As do you," I chuckled, referring to her disheveled hair and the large bags under yer eyes.
"I had to take over while the Alphas settle the trouble," she said. "Freaking Aaron's Beta bailed on me."
"I swear to Jordan…" Aaron sighed and shook his head. "Sorry, Kaitlyn."
I nudged Aaron's sleeve, "How come I have never seen your Beta?"
Aaron visibly cringed at the mention of his right hand. "That man's always missing. I couldn't even get in touch with him like Stephen does with Margaret."
"Why not fire him then?" I asked.
"Well, Jordan is the best Beta when the situation is definitely critical," Aaron said. "He's actually my grandfather's Beta, then my father's, then mine. He only appears when the pack is in real peril."
"He's more of a guardian," Stephen chuckled. "I remembered a time when my dad grieved for our loss of Celestine and Jordan was the one who smacked senses into him. We're not even on the same pack. He just saw that our rating went down, so he talked to my father, and poof. We rose back up. That old fool is one of the greatest wolf I know."
"His strenth rivals that of an Alpha," Aaron said. "No, make that two Alphas. Even when Stephen and I gang up on him, we'd lose not a moment later."
I nodded and thought, "But why didn't he took over as an Alpha?"
Aaron pursed his lips and smiled with a look that screams pride, "If there's another thing with him other than being old is being loyal. My grandfather actually died in his arms. He promised him that he'll protect all the next Alphas until he lives."
"You talk as if he's so great," Margaret scoffed. "If he really was, he wouldn't leave me with all the work. I almost died of exhaustion."
"But you didn't," Stephen snorted. "That's his philosophy. Do what you can do. He knows when he is needed. Let's just be patient."
"Whatever," Margaret rolled her eyes.
"They're here!" Our guard informed.
Everyone assumed battle positions. The cars arrived with Kaitlyn going out first. The squads followed her, surrounding her while.
"I feel so important," she chuckled.
I waited for my mates to call the squad captains for the report when figures started to arise from the earth and the cars. They were wearing black skin-tight suits that hugged their features like a second skin.
One of them walked in front of us.
"Squad Horus Team Leader, Horus reporting," he introduced. "From the 17 hour travel and recieving of the goods, no suspicious anomaly occured. The detailed report is in your office, Alphas."
"Good," Aaron said. He saw me staring at the people getting eaten by the ground again and chuckled. "Babe, they're the secret squad, Horus."
"They watch everything from afar like Squd Arcan," Stephen said. "But their surveillance is more intimate and they have learned the skill or hiding from plain sight."
"They sound cool," I said.
A squad leader took the chest from Kaitlyn's hand. He inspected it, sniffed and double checked before handing it to Aaron.
"All clear, Alpha," he said.
"Good," Stephen said and looked at Kailtyn. "How do we use this?"
"I can help you make it. I'll be away while I instruct you what to do," she offered.
I looked at my mates and they nodded in approval. Aaron spoke, "Okay. But again, one suspicious move and we'll maul you."
Kaitlyn didn't even looked surprised. She knew the consequences of her actions and right now, she's paying for it.
"Let Charlie prepare the lab," Aaron ordered to one of the men. He looked at me and smiled, "Let's save our Little Alpha."
Margaret was surrounded with wolves while she was a few meters away from Charlie and his assistants. She gave them instructions on how to brew the concoction.
Bryce and Alicia also came to watch over in case she use a spell or do something. They're experts in the field of spellcasting especially Bryce.
"None so far," Bryce said and looked at Alicia who shook her head.
"She's not doing anything," Alicia said. "For now, at least."
"Bryce?" I called. "Yes, Luna?"
"Do you know anything about Titans?"
His eyes widened before he regained his composure. "Why Luna? Is there something wrong?"
"Kaitlyn said she's now a Titan," I said. My mates already agreed to consult Bryce and Alicia. They said I could talk to them while they supervise on the creation of the cure.
"Titans are among the creatures that ascended from our realm," Bryce said. "They're the ones over us and under the gods. Saying one is a Titan would mean that they can take all of us here in at the same time."
"You mean she can slay everyone here?" I asked.
"Not everyone," Alicia said. "About a good quarter of us."
"Can I see if she really is one?" Bryce asked. "I have studied about Titans but has never seen one in real life. I want to know if she really is one."
I was hesitant so I asked my mates through the link.
'Bring guards with you,' they chorused.
I agreed and walked over to Kaitlyn with several guards. "We have something to ask you."
"What is it?" she replied. "We have to wait for a couple of minutes to let the serum cultivate. I am free right now."
Bryce took over, "You said you're really a Titan?"
Kaitlyn nodded, "I did say that."
"How can you prove it?" Bryce challenged.
Kaitlyn stood from her chair that made us assume an offensive stance. She raised her hands up and shoved her hair to the side.
"I have the mark."
Bryce's eyes widened, his lips agape. "Y-You…"
"I am the mate of the current Titan King, Kronos the Ninetieth."
