Chapter 17 - Outcast

King Daniminga sat on his throne. His faithful team of elders sat around him with their old eyes low but grey hairs exposed. On their left knees were their symbolic red hats and in their right hands were white canes. They silently whispered amongst themselves and King Daniminga looked on patiently.

After much hushed discussions, one of the elders stood up with his right hand on his chest. He bowed to the king who nodded at him in approval. The rest of the elders leaned back and calmly waited for the speaker to air out their collective views.

'Our king, almighty ruler of Maviki, may the gods of our land continue to bless you. May they impart even more wisdom into you for you are the entire kingdom's protector.' the elder began.

'Speak.' King Danimiga permitted—clearly pleased by the praise.

The elder cleared his throat, 'We all agree with you. After everything that has happened, we cannot honestly sit here and wait for Elionis to ambush us. We have to prepare for war.'
