Chapter 4: Convincing Bree

Alex's POV

“Come on Jung, Breannaa! Just come with me. It will be funnn.”

We are at McDonalds hanging out right after class which is 4pm now. I’m trying to convince Bree to come with me at the party. I might have invited Selena as well were it not that I forgot to get her number after she helped me find my room in the morning. Which reminds me, I can also see her there if what Mitchelle said is true. The more the merrier.

“Don’t be such a killjoy.” I said while throwing fries at her direction which she happily caught with her mouth.

“Ar thought wer be hunghing awt two cratch wrup?” Talking and chewing on her fries at the same time, Bree mouthed the incomprehensible words.

“Don’t talk while your mouth is full, silly.” I said while ruffling her hair. She swat my hands right away.

“Hey! I’m not a kid anymore you know.” She pouts.

I just chuckled at her. She’s right. She is not the kid I used to know back then. She looks more reliable now and more mature but still looks cute. I think it’s one of her traits that got stuck with her.

“Okay sorry, come on. We can hang out and catch up there with other people. Besides, it will boost your popularity. Didn’t you mention that you are a part of the school band? You’ll be cool and you can be my wingman, no, wingwoman. Pleeeasssseeee?” I put up my most convincing face for her.

She seems to be thinking before she answered me.

“Answer me this first.”

“Okay, what is it?” I complied.

“Why did you showed up all of a sudden, transferring schools? Wouldn’t your parents get mad? Cut you off?”

The series of questions surprised me. I did not expect her to ask those, at least not this early but I know her. I realized the concern in Bree’s eyes as I look at them. I know she cares. We always care for each other back then, before I left and looking at her now, I realized she never stopped caring. She is still my best friend.

“I guess that’s why I’m here. I don’t want it anymore.”

There was a long stretch of silence. I am waiting for her to analyze what I’ve just said. I know it’s vague and doesn’t really clarify things and answer questions between us, me and my family and why I exactly run off to here. Yet, she wouldn’t push it out off of me.

“Okay.” She just said.

“Really?”

She nods. Yes!

“Then we better find what we are to wear and by the way, do you know this guy’s address? Liam?”

“Yup, the band often played at his house especially during parties which often happens and he seems to like a live band playing most of times but I didn’t have a notice that we’ll be playing tonight so I guess he’ll just have Jackson and Sunny sing some of the songs or a DJ would be present.”

“Wow, you’re definitely a big shot now, Bree.” I said with a big smile plastered on my face.

“It’s not like that. I actually keep a low profile. Aside from performing on stage behind the drums, I don’t think I got out a lot and in front of many people.”

I couldn’t help but notice the sadness tinged in her voice while saying those.

“You deserve to be on the spot light too. Don’t sell yourself short. You’re one of the most artistic and talented person I know. So haul your ass up now and we better get going. We have a party to attend!” I pulled Bree out and we proceeded to go home.

---

Knock. Knock.

“I’m coming!!!” I heard footsteps from the other side of the door.

I’m in front of Bree’s house fetching her before we will go together to the party. I was wearing my black leather jacket over my blue graphic fitted crop top and my black ripped jeans. My top and jeans hugged my curves in the right places. For my footwear, I chose my blood red Doc Martens combat boots. I had a light make up, accentuating my eyes and I also put the same blood red color on my lips. I let my black hair just fall in a messy state. I kinda look like a hot vampire last time I checked my reflection.

The door finally opened revealing Breana with her white graphic loose shirt tucked under her brown plaid short skirt. She wears a cap similar to the design of her skirt and wears a wedge for additional height. Haha. She looks attractively cute in her blonde short hair and bangs lightly brushing her brows. She also has light make up focusing on her sharp eyes. Her lips and cheeks in pink blush.

I was awe-struck.

“Wooow! You look pretty and irresistibly cute in that. Oh god! Jung, Breana, you are so fine.” I said in all honesty.

“Thanks, you don’t look bad yourself.” She bashfully replied. The sight is refreshing to me as well as the way she might have found the situation.

“Come on, let’s use my car. Let’s go!” I announced enthusiastically pulling her out of the house.

---

I parked my dark green Aston Martin on the side of the road along other several cars. We arrived at Liam’s house which is huge and spacious, they even have a fountain on the front surrounded by four statues and a wide backyard pool at the back. Although not as big as our house. Outside, the music is already loud enough to be heard as well as the ruckus of other students inside. Some are scattered outside, chattering, smoking, drinking, making out and doing anything God knows what.

I was walking side by side with Bree as we approached the doorway. Along the way, several students looked at us, probably intrigued and interested. Bree might have joined in some of these parties but never with me by her side. I shoot them with my flirty smirks and winks. Mostly responded with their own low key flirty smiles too, men and women, but no one does it like me. I’m confident enough on my own way. Inside the living room, it was packed with people dancing and jumping to some upbeat pop that is deafeningly playing on the speakers. In the kitchen, some are huddled and cheering over a game of beer pong. Someone was handing out beer on red cups. I grabbed two from him and handed one to Bree.

“Ready to party?”
