Scarlet’s pov
Pulling my car up on the driveway beside another similar looking one I realized that I had yet again been late to meet them.
A blue Ford Fiesta shined beside my black one as if mocking me to say that it had yet again been on time and I had not.
The cars were a graduation gift to Blu and me from our parents. Even though we insisted that they didn’t have to spend money on us they were never the one to listen.
I vaguely remember mum saying something along the lines that we shouldn’t teach them what to do as they were the parents and if they wanted to spoil us with something then they would, no matter how old we get.
I chuckled at that memory.
She had always been like that and I knew there was no one who could ever win in an argument with her.
Without wasting more time, I got inside the small house using the key given to me.
Twisting the knob I paused and said a quick prayer to god to help me face the onslaught of drama I knew was coming my way and then slowly turned around.
“Finally, she graces us with her presence,” his voice was full of sarcasm and when I looked at him, he already had his hand placed on his hips like he was angry at me for being late.
Blu was standing behind him with a hand covering her mouth, trying to control her laughter at what was going to happen.
This was never good.
I sent her a pleading look to help me, but she shook her head letting me know that I was all on my own.
“Don’t you dare ask for her help!” He must have caught on to the fact that Blu was behind him because he didn’t even spare her a glance just stared at me as if he was trying to burn holes in my head.
“Who said I need her help? What do you think you are going to do huh?” I said already knowing that I had to play along to end this. There was no other escape.
“I had already warned you the last time that if you turn up late to hang out with us I will break all ties with you. Now you see, I don’t back down on my words. You have left me with no choice unless you apologize,” He said a betrayed expression playing on his features as he melodramatically put the back of his palm against his forehead while tilting his head a bit.
I rolled my eyes at him, already used to his dramatic ways.
“I guess this friendship ends here then,” I said already knowing what’s coming next. It was almost too simple to guess his actions.
He gasped just as I had thought and looked as if my word had physically hurt him. Putting a hand to his heart he staggered towards me and then fell on his knees in front of me as if it was too draining for his body to stand straight.
People are so lucky they don’t have to witness his pathetic acts. Thank god we had stopped him from taking up acting as a career, it’s better if he stays as a nurse.
“Your words wound me. My heart, it pains. I thought you will fight for our friendship, but I guess I never really meant much to you. I suppose its goodbye, Blu, my only best friend. This monster has injured my heart,” He said as he put a hand on the right side of his chest.
Giggling silently Blu took his hand and placed it where his heart actually was and said in her most believable sad voice, “I know, I will miss you Lee. You deserve someone so much better someone who respects you and your friendship, a person who values your time and efforts.”
She said that as she sat and placed an arm around him as if giving support to a person speaking his last wishes.
Oh how I wish it was his last!
“Drop the act Charlie. You are a grown man now!” I shouted, highly irritated now. This only caused him to whimper and gasp for breath like he was actually dying. Blu shot me a look that clearly said to give up. She let a smile slip before getting back into character and looking distressed and sad.
Sometimes I feel like she is his twin instead of mine.
I couldn’t take it anymore I knew what they wanted to hear, and they wouldn’t stop until I said it, “Okay fine! I am sorry, and I’ll try to be punctual.”
They both immediately got up and grinned at me, “See that wasn’t so hard.”
He then turned to Blu and raised his hand to high five her which she returned with the same enthusiasm.
This guy never acts like a twenty-one-year-old.
Why was I surrounded with dramatic people?
“Guys, Is this necessary? You both act the same way, as when we were five,” I scowled at them; making fun of me was their favorite pastime.
“Aww grumpy, don’t be a killjoy you know you love it!” Blu said as she pouted at me.
I could never stay mad at them even if I try to. I might hate boys right now but Charlie was clearly an exception to the case and will forever be.
“Now come here and give your best friend a big hug, I missed you,” Charlie says as he opens his big muscular arms wide to give me a bear hug and although I secretly loved them. I made a face at him before letting him pull me in.
I felt Blu trying to wrap her arms around both of us from behind me.
And right then and there, I felt the happiest I had felt in a while now.
“Now that we have you trapped. Tell me all about your latest boy drama and whether I have to beat someone up or not?”
I groaned.
This was going to be a long sleepover.

*Interview time with the characters*
Author: You really like teasing Scarlet huh?
Charlie: Yeah! Its funny how easily she loses her temper sometimes. (laughs)
Author: But you don't mind her rude words, do you?
Charlie: Nah... not even a little. I know she doesn't mean them. She is just not really good with expressing herself well.
Author: Maybe you are right... Well let's stop here for today. We wouldn't want to tell the readers all about her in a day, right? Let them get to know her on their own. (smiles)
Charlie: Yeah you are right! I'll be taking my leave then. Bye everyone!
Author: Bye Charlie! And see you later my lovely readers.
