“Uh I never thought that you would actually call me, so I didn’t have anything planned but how about I take you to the movies this Friday?” he asked hopefully.

Denise rolled her eyes from beside me probably unimpressed by his confession and lack of smooth talk. It seemed like he was not very experienced in talking to girls and getting their attention which is odd because he looked very cute.

If I wasn’t on a mission to hurt boys, I might have given him a chance. 

“Friday works fine for me. I’ll send you my address so that you can come pick me up.”

Now that the deal was made, I had no longer any interest in talking to him.
I had already entertained him for way long and although it was fun while it lasted, I had places to be and people to meet.

Damn These Boys!

I didn’t even realize that it’s already past eight. The screen of my phone illuminated as it showcased another message notification. It was from Blu informing me that she won’t be back home until late as she was busy with her dance practice for the upcoming competition. 


I sighed. I was planning on calling her to come pick me up from Denise’s place but now I guess my only option is to take the bus home. As far as I remember the last bus that goes to the bus stop near my place leaves at half past eight, I will need to hurry if I don’t want to miss it. 


Taking one last look at the ginormous building where Denise lives, I start making my way to the bus stop. On occasions like these I feel grateful for my sneakers; they are the best if you need to reach your destination on foot.
