Some days after the incident between me and David, I noticed that Mrs Philips had increased the workload around the house for me. She decided to give sister Kate some days off to take care of her nephew, while I did all the housework. I never complained about how she treated me. In fact, I saw it as a blessing in disguise. The workload took my mind off all the things I was going through. It actually gave me some peace of mind.
I did all the work she wanted me to do, yet she was never satisfied. When I cooked food for the family, she would complain there was either too much salt or pepper. When I washed her clothes, which she made me do by hand even though there was a huge washing machine in the house, she would say they were not washed well. Even when I clean the house, she will still find dust and complain.
