Chapter 10: Run Away

"Wow. Just wow, Kale. You're so creative," I sarcastically said as I looked up at the building in front of us.

Just so you know, after the long run we did earlier, we ended up in the hospital. He said we would freaking "explore" but he brought me in front of Elysian Medical Hospital.

"What would we freaking explore here?!" I asked irritatingly then glanced at him. "This hospital's wards?" I mockingly added.

"If you want, I can bring you to a neurologist here, it appeared to me that you badly need one."

"Chill, girl," he laughed.

Kale smirked, "You'll regret saying all that when we get there."

He offered his right hand to me, I just looked at it.

He groan in frustration when I didn't take it, then pulled me by my wrist.

We started walking towards the entrance.

He even greeted the guard like they've known each other for a while.

Kale pulled me towards the elevator. When the doors opened, there's no one inside.

I stepped sideways, I'm still quite mad because of the distance we had to run just to end up here.

He was the one who pressed which floor we are heading, I didn't bother looking at it. Minutes passed when we finally arrived.

The cold breeze welcomed us when the doors opened. We're at the rooftop. This was where we met before.

I looked at him—confused. Why are we here?

It seems that he read my mind.

"I know that you so much like watching the roads," he stated. "Here, you'll get a better and clearer view," he gave me a hearty smile.

Wow. I didn't expect that he'll come up with this idea. Knowing him, he never really plan about stuffs. His actions were always all of the sudden, reckless. Kale is the 'go with the flow' type of guy.

And the fact that he thought of this place and idea, it made my heart flutters.

I run towards the railings to see what is happening down there. Thank God it's not that sunny, it's actually cloudy today. It's like the weather favors us.

When I felt that he's near me, I looked at him. He's now holding a guitar.

"Where did you get that?"

"This is mine. I leave it here so I can use it whenever I'm here," Kale answered.

My brows furrowed.

"You often go here? Last time, you said you were visiting someone."

"About that," his hand flew to his nape and smiled awkwardly. "That's a lie. When I want to be lone, I go up here. I also know the guards so they don't get mad every time I'm here," he explain.

I nodded. Then, I look down to watch the place I adore the most.

The strum of the guitar... He's playing a song— Little Things by One Direction.

Slowly, I closed my eyes, slightly lift my chin up, feeling the breeze, enjoying the sound of the guitar.

This is nice. I can stay here forever. I can't help but smile with what i just thought.

Of course I can't stay here forever. I got a life down there. I got things to do down there. There are things waiting for me. I've got problems to face. Dreams to find...

When the song ended, I opened my eyes. Then, glanced at the person beside me.

Our eyes met. We stared at each other for a second. His expression right now is screaming seriousness but his eyes... His eyes is saying otherwise. It looked like it's smiling... To me. Is he happy?

"You sing," there's no hint of asking in his tone.

"K-Kind of..." my voice is shaking.

"Can you sing for me?"

I immediately shook my head, "No, dude. No. It's embarrassing. I-I'm s-shy."

"You're not embarrassed nor shy, you are afraid," I was shocked when I heard that. "It's okay tho. One day... One day, I will hear you sing," he smirked then looked up at the sky.

Afraid...

"How come you think I'm scared?" I seriously asked.

"You're afraid I would be disappointed," his eyes is now back on me. "Don't worry. As long as it's you, I would never be disappointed."

My damn heart is beating too fast. What the hell?

I swallowed hard then look away.

"Stay here," he said.

My eyes flew to him. He put down the guitar then walk towards the lift.

"Where are you going?" I asked. He looked back.

"Downstairs. I'll be back. Don't worry," he gave me an assuring smile.

I blinked twice. I brought back my gaze down on the busy road then lean on the railings .

The whole time I was looking down, my mind is at peace. My whole being is at peace as I mesmerize myself with the view.

There are no questions troubling me, no worries is building up inside me.

My heart is now beating calmly beating. The air striking my face is giving me a good and warm feeling.

I badly want to stay here.

I did not notice that Kale arrive. I got back from my reverie when he offered me something.

"Drink that," I reached for the cold iced-tea. "You look exhausted from the running we did earlier. "

"Thanks," I said.

I open the bottle then drink what's inside right away. I drank half of it straight because of the thirst I felt.

When I looked back at Kale, he's looking up again.

"How was it?" he asked.

"What?" my forehead creased.

"I mean, what did you feel when I left you here for a moment?"

I was dumbfounded with his question. Did he purposely leave me here?

"I felt..." I'm hesitant. "It felt peaceful. My mind is at peace, my heart too." I honestly said while trying to suppress a smile.

"There's no unnecessary questions running in my head, there no what-ifs too. It's overwhelming, to be honest. I can't remember the last time I had this feeling," I continuously said. I also failed to hide my smile.

"I'm glad to hear that. It means you're improving. You're slowly learning to not overthink."

"Thank you," I sincerely said as I look at him.

"Don't thank me yet. We've got a long way to go."

"Even so..."

"Also, you are the one who helped yourself. I just thought that this moment is too peaceful. I tell myself that maybe it would help you. And it turns out so well," he stated.

What he said just made me fell better, it added to the peacefulness I am feeling.

"And here I thought you don't think about things beforehand," I mocked and then smirked at him.

"Right, dude. See what you did to me?! You're making me think, poppet," he retorted while shaking his head.

I was astound with what he just call me.

My heart is beating rapidly. Again. What he just said got a different meaning and impact to me.

"It's getting late. I-I better go home now," I said.

I didn't wait for his response and just go straight to the elevator.

He's now standing beside me.

When we are at the hospital's lobby, he greeted the guards again.

Outside, we kept looking left and right. Hoping we can see a ride that will take us home.

"Now what? We're gonna run again?" I unconsciously asked.

"Want to run away with me?" he said then gave me a sexy smile.
