Chapter 8: The Prophecy

I coughed on air, causing an explosion of spasms to run throughout my head. I grimaced in pain and tried not to move for a few minutes. Willing myself to sit up, I got my head off the ground and was forced back down by something strapping my arms to the floor. I glanced down... I was restrained! Restraints covered my rests and my ankles, keeping my limbs glued to the floor pavement.

Panicking, I tried to will Rosa to take control and break us free. I can't, Nova. I've been trying to keep us alive, I have no strength to do much else. You lost too much blood for me to just sit around and watch.

I groaned and tried to think of another way. I didn't get very far as a door to the room opened and someone shuffled inside. "Hello, my dear. I'm sorry we couldn't have met under better circumstances."

I sat my head up, willing myself to see who spoke to me. "Who are you and what do you want?" My head flopped back down not having near enough strength to hold it up and longer than a few seconds.

"I'm appalled. You can't even recognize one of your own family members? And to think we used to be so close." He clucked his tongue as if he was tisking me. He didn't step any closer so I could not put a face on the voice. I considered for a while, the silence becoming sickening. The voice had been deep and scratchy almost... There was only one man that I could think of that had a voice like that!

"Uncle Dan? We all thought you were dead!! What happened to you?" I was so surprised by this revelation that it took a while for me to realize that he was the one that had me strapped down to the floor. "Why are yo doing this to me?!"

Uncle Dan stepped up beside me, so he was looking down at my face and smiled,"You should absolutely know that answer to that question, deary. Your mate." As he said the last two words, I grimaced and looked away. What did Abe have anything to do with this?? He couldn't of possibly done anything to my family could he...?

I considered a million questions in my head before I looked up and met my Uncle's eyes again. "What could he have possibly done that was bad enough to tie up your own niece?" My eyes squinted into a scowl.

This made Dan's smile grow into the widest smile, like it genuinely made him happy. "He met you."

I gasped. This is what this was about? Was he going to punish Abe by hurting me? All because we found each other?

"Now, I can see those questions running through that little brain of yours, so I will just cut to the chase and tell you why. I wouldn't want my entertainment for later to be asleep the entire time," He reached down and ran a finger along my jawline. "It's a shame really. I really wished it wouldn't of come to this. You really are my favorite niece in the whole wide world."

"I'm your ONLY niece," I spat out through clenched teeth. This man will regret what he's doing to me.

"I know you haven't had much to do with your pack since your parents aren't much involved either, BUT I want to tell you a little story that has run down our lines for centuries. It involves you and that twat mate of yours." He flicked his fingers, like he had touched something unpleasant. "It's a prophecy that we all now realize is the both of you. 'The joining of two, one light, one dark, will become one and bring forth a ruler that will be the undoing of all.'"

I was shocked. I had never heard of this prophecy before. Why didn't my parents ever keep me in the loop about these things? Rosa spoke, light and dark, meaning your wolves. It clicked. Abe's color was rare but mine was damn near unheard of. The last white wolf as over a millennium ago. It made sense, but how did this man know of this? Abe and I had only met 5 days ago?! "I had only just recently met Abe, how do you know that we are your prophecy?"

Dan rested in his chin in his hand, as if he was deep in thought. "Well, it's the simple fact that a few days ago, there was a ripple throughout the land. I'm not sure what it was, but it sent a shock wave of shivers throughout all of the wolves in the area. I traced it back here and found you, my dear white wolfed niece, which brought me to consider the prophecy. It only made sense that you mate would have to black, and sure enough, he shifted to reveal his true color in front of my men only the night before."

I thought back and remembered our kiss from a few days ago. That had to of been what caused the shock wave! My thoughts reversed and thought about the attack from the night before.... "Abe. Omg, Abe! Is he alive?!" A million thoughts were running through my head and my question had sent Rosa into overdrive. My wolf started to take control of me, I had no choice but to let it happen. I was too weak to control her. I'm sure my eyes started to glow yellow and Rosa neared the surface.

Sure enough, Uncle Dan backed away, growling as he went. "You will not get away from me. I am not finished with you."

My white fur started to sprout through my skin and my claws erupted through my fingernails. Rosa didn't shift any further; she had more than enough control to do what she wanted. She yanked up my arms and tore the restraints from their positions, releasing their hold on us. It wasn't a second later, the same thing happened with my legs. I stood, rubbing my wrists where there now were dark bruises forming. "If you hurt my Abe, I will kill you." I seared through my clenched teeth as a got into a lower position in case my Uncle decided to spring on me.

"This is not the last time you'll hear from me, little one!" He yelled as he shifted and took off through the door.

I scoffed and stood from my crouch. Let's go! Rosa shouted, still not calmed down from the encounter. Her thoughts rampaged through my skull as she fretted about our mate. I let her take control as she shifted the entire way this time, ripping my clothes to shreds. We took off with lightening speed in the direction that she knew her mate would be.
