The Way To The Throne Of Chronos

The Grandmaster wizard stood on the shores of white sand looking out at the ocean. The waves smashed against jagged rocks, in the distance, creating a spray of water and a rainbow.

Luke walked out of the house and realized that he was in the gallery of a wooden house. Luke then walked down the wooden steps and towards their rescuer. After walking a certain distance, he turned back and realized that the house he had just walked out of had vanished.

Shocked, he walked back and realized that the house seemed to be under a vanishing spell which kept it hidden at a particular distance.

Forgetting about it, he continued his walk to The Wizard. When he had walked up, The wizard said "Timea used to enjoy coming here."

It was her favorite training ground, he continued with a saddened tone.

So how can I help, The Grandmaster Wizard asked Luke? It is something that I know Timea would want?

We are trying to get to the Throne Of Chronos to put back this, Luke responded, showing him the gem on the chain of the necklace.

How did you get those, The Wizard asked with a hint of joy in his voice.

I have not seen them in ages.

Huh, Luke asked curiously? So are you able to carry us there?

Yes, The Wizard responded. I know exactly where those gems have been.

The keeper of those gems is a good friend of mine who might be quite old now. I don't think he takes any visitors though.

Well the fact that these gems are out, means that something has happened there and we need to get back there.

You are right, The Wizard answered. You are a smart young man. Would you be interested in being my apprentice?

Luke let out a shy laugh while looking at Melinda who was now walking towards them. The wizard looked at her for a bit and then said "I will leave you too alone!"

Come to the house when you guys are ready to talk about the next step.

Melinda and Luke walked along the beach, not venturing too far from the spot that they had marked, where the house was situated. The house was the only one on this entire, beautiful beach.

The couple said nothing while they sat on the sand, letting the water touch their feet. Then Luke broke the silence, "When all this is over. I would like to go on a real date with you!"

Melinda just leaned on him and said "Ok."

I will remember the ice-cream he laughed.

'Elsewhere'

So you know where they are heading, Lord Jamie asked?

Yes, answered Jaiden. They are heading to the place where I was before.

"The throne of Chronos," asked Lord Jamie?

Yes, was the response.

What is that place anyway, asked Lord Jamie?

That place resides outside the effects of time. A much more powerful magic keeps it in a magical state, protecting it from the effects of time.

A magical state?

Yes. Based on the last state that it was left in, would be its current state thus protecting it from the ages of time.

It's last, current state is what it was left in while I was there so going forward in time or back in time does not change its state. It will remain the same way unless someone goes there and resides for a short time.

That's very powerful magic! So can't we just apparition ourselves back to that place and lay a trap for them, asked Lord Jamie.

It's not really that simple. Most likely the wizard would be with them and I am definitely not strong enough to handle the wizard from this timeline. He would definitely be in his prime, at this point in time. .

I understand. I can send a scout to check the location, if you want? Ensure that they have not made it yet. By then, it would be too late then. We need to act now.

Understood! Wait, I am trying to figure out, how did you get stuck in there before asked, Lord Jamie?

After the wizard buried the gateway in my past battle, we continued our fight for a short time. After it concluded, and I left, I scoured the earth for another way to get in. I found a way but it's what brought me to this pitiful sight that you see before you.

So we won't be trying that way. Do you have a plan then? We will need to ambush and outnumber them after they have arrived at the gateway and before they enter it. Do you have the men to spare, asked Jaiden?

I do, responded Lord Jamie. I have many men to spare.

'Back at the safe house.'

When Luke and Melinda walked into the home, Fiora and Greg were sitting at a table talking to The Wizard about how he knew where they were?

I received a message from an old friend of mine nicknamed 'The Peddler.' He sent me a message on the behest of a man who was Timea's 'Right Hand.'

Finding her and you guys was the easy part, after that, the Wizard continued..

After a pause, Fiora asked, so tell us about the Throne of Chronos,

The Grandmaster wizard began to tell them about what he knew about the place.

"Think about time as a flowing river flowing one way. Traversing back or moving backwards in this river is extremely difficult but not impossible. There are certain ways that one can, which are known as loopholes in this river of time. For instance, one can use certain gateways to travel back in time, based on the different types of moons. Depending on the type of moons will determine how far one can travel, ranging anywhere from 50 years to 500 years.

"That is how we were able to come back in time,'' added Fiora."

I figured that much, when you said that you all were from the future. What the throne of Chronos is however, is a place that exists on the outside of time and space, unaffected by it.

From there one can jump directly to specific points in time of their choosing. Anywhere & anytime is available.

Looking at Greg's face, The Wizard said that The Throne Of Chronos is like a spring board which allows someone to jump into the river at any point in time.

That makes it more visually descriptive, responded Greg.

So what is the plan to get to the gateway and to the Throne of Chronos, asked Luke?

Tomorrow, we will venture to the gateway and see what has happened to it and to my friend.

We will reconvene after that, said The Wizard! So rest up for tomorrow, he continued.
