Just Another Ghost Story 

It has been a month ever since Variys Took down Queen Valerya , after he leveled up to the 99th Level , he decided to take on the Different High Dungeons that appeared out of nowhere , these new ones were on another level , The monsters were more powerful and the traps were closer to every corner , even the mastered hunters had difficulties clearing them up .

But all that didn't matter for variys as he made his way to the eastern side of the Largest dungeon that appeared near nozomu , the guild personally asked for his help with this one because they knew the true scale of his power , and they were right ,

'' Lightning Magic : Thunder Bolt '' Chanted Variys his spell firing a lighting streak towards a bunch of monsters that were standing between him and the upper stairs that lead to the top floor .

The monsters screamed in pain before vaporizing in thin leaving nothing but Germ Stones behind them ,

'' Let's Go Girls we have a lot of levels to go through if we want to clear it today '' he said turning around

Behind him followed Celestine and her Sister Naomi alongside with Cana who Heaved her Magic Stone Firing a Giant Beam

'' Holly Nova '' destroying a couple of Vicious Dogs that tried to sneak from behind them

'' Variys Sama , it seem that you have forgot a couple ones behind , could it be that you are getting sloppy , or perhaps even tired '' Cana Stated Scoring

'' On the contrary Cana , I'm just getting warmed up , plus I don't need to pay attention to every creature in this dungeon , that's why I have you guys ''

As he stated that Celestine Breach her way forward taking down more monsters using her Sword at immense se speed ,

'' Variys Kun , I'm afraid that Cana might have a point , I never seen you so careless about clearing a dungeon like today '' Naomi Stated

'' Careless , Hah , no , I'm not careless , I'm just in a rush '' he replied

'' in a rush , why is that variys sama , it's not like there is a time limit to clearing a dungeon or anything like that ''

'' your right , there isn't , it's just that someone challenged me back in the guild , and I'm not planning on loosing , I'm the Famous Demon Lord Variys After all ''

Variys remembers his time in the guild few days ago , he was looking at the Quest Board looking for a Nice Paying Job To Take on , where his eyes have matched a perfect quest for him

''30 Thousand Gerzan , This Might actually be a good Job to take on , especially that Celestine had managed to dry out half of our tournament reward , for a Beautiful elf with her Physique , she sure eats a lot , and she doesn't seem to gain any weight so the question is , were all that food goes to …. '' Variys thought to himself as he gazed at Celestine sitting by another table devouring more food that most hunters in the guild ,

Everyone stared at her biting on a giant piece of meat on one hand and slurping right after . all while mumbling

'' that girl sure can eat huh ''

'' if she keep this up , I doubt there would be enough food for the rest of us ''

'' who cares about the food , can you at least protect the drinks , I can't do missions without drinks ''

Naomi Who was sitting next to her , with a smile asked her to keep her loud munching voice a little bit down

'' Cele , Don't you think you are getting to much attention to us , ''

'' I'm not doing anything Naomi Sama , it's just that the food here is really good , ''

'' I didn't , but I thought that if I managed to defeat the Demon Queen , people will recognize my position as a demon lord , and I would be one step closer of becoming the greatest villain in this world , and yet here I am , looking for a job in a Peacefull town with a cheeky brat who can't stop eating and dre=ainign my moeney '' he said while pinching Cele by the cheek as she apologized for her over exsesive apetite

'' okay , okay , I get it variys sama , I'm sorry , I will ease it down on the meals , we can go on this job as soon as I'm done I promise ''

'' I know who you are lord variys , your reputation precedes you , but this isn't a dungeon that you can clear uing power , ''

'' don't you know , the eastern dungeon is cursed , even hunters with level over 70 came back scared for their life ,, talking about a ghost that hunted them away , it is said that there is an evil spirit of an old hunter living there , the hunter never got to finish his quest and vowed to never let anyone do the his job , that dungeon is here to stay my friend ''

'' a ghost you say , hah , what can a ghost do to a demon , you think that such a story could scare me , well I will have you to be mistaken ''

'' fair enough , it seem that you are not someone who gets scared easily , but what about them '' the hinter points at the girls , finding Cana and Celestine Shivering from fear

'' in that case you have nothing to lose , so what's the bet ''

The guild Hunters stood in shock , this bet is over the top and impossible to pay , surely variys will refuse , yet and without any hesitation , variys smirks once again ,

'' well then , it seem that we have a deal , the journey will take a Days To Reach The Dungeon and get ready , so in two days , we will meet here and make sure you have my money ''

The hunter laughs is off

'' and if you don't , please don't go off running from the town ahahahaha ''

Back at the dungeon Variys Take Down another Monster with a Wind Blast Enchantment

'' Tempest ''

The One Eyes Monster Couldn't Keep his ground , flying against the wall and getting knocked out easily .

'' so that's why variys sama is in a hurry , I totally forgot about the bet and thought that he was becoming careless , turn out he just want to reach the top and clear it '' Celestine said to cana

'' that's right , it said that this dungeon has a Giant Gate , Protected by a Minotaur , if you defeat the minotaur and managed to open the gate , the dungeon is cleared , we have 7 Hours Left , and 5 Floors To Go ''

'' do you think it can be done ''

'' knowing that it's variys, there is no doubt it , we will clear it with no effort '' Cana Replied as she blasted another monster , and making their way through the top taking down the monsters that came in their way and clearing up More Levels alongside their traps as they did .

Few Moments Later , variys Took Down The Last Monster who turned out to be a massive Grey spider & who managed to do quiet the damage for the girls .

'' you should take a rest here , we are on time and a little stop wouldn't hurt , '' said variys as he turned to the girls

Sometime passes by as everyone sat to take their breath

'' haaah , thank god , I was getting tired of killing off monsters , I'm Starving , I want some meat and beef , and chicken would be nice , '' Celestine stated as her stomach groaned

'' if we don't finish this this in time , there wouldn't be any beef for you to eat ''

'' don't worry about it , we will manage , like we always do , am I right , Variys '' Naomi Stated as she reached for variys arm , Who had been scratched somewhere on the way .

'' Naomi , that won't be necessary '' he said

'' Don't give me that , if you want to clear it as fast as possible , you would need to be in full power ,''

'' it's just a scratch , what can it do ''

'' you never know , fufufu '' she said as the wound totally healed and followed it by a kiss on his right arm .

'' if you even needed me to heal you or anything for that matter , you just have to ask , fufufufu '' she stated erotically as she got closer to him

'' variys sama , you don't think that this was all the doing of the …. ''

'' you know , The Ghost That the hunter tried to warn us about ''

''don't be stupid Cele , he was just trying to scare us away from the quest , perhaps because he couldn't finish it himself ''

Just as Naomi tried to ensure the girls that there is nothing t be afraid of , a loud reverbed spooky voice could be heard across the Level , the voice shivered the girls and put variys in a fighting stance

'' Who Dare To Enter My Realm ''

Celestine shouts in fear '' it's him , the ghost , he's angry and he came to curse us and claim our souls ''

'' shut up stupid , ghosts don't claim souls !! '' variys replied

'' who are you show yourself ''

'' you dare speak to me in that tone , demon '' the voice shouted in anger

'' I'm the Demon Lord Variys , I can speak to you however I wish to , show yourself Coward ''

'' Coward !!!! '' the voice shouted followed by a huge blast of wind turning off every light source in that level , variys and the girls all stand in darkness , with Celestine shivering in fear .

'' I'm the Cursed Ghost of this dungeon , nobody shall clear this place as long as I exist , leave right away demon , and I shall forget your insolence and allow you to escape with your life , ''

'' leave , huh , don't make me laugh , I didn't come all this way to get scared by a ghost of some sort , we will not leave ''

Just as variys said that he hears the girls mumbling behind him , he turned swiftly only to see Celestine making her way down , and cana packing their stuff , both of them ready to make a run for it

'' you girls !! you are really running away with no hesitation ''

'' you heard what he said , variys sama , I don't want to be cursed , the bet isn't worth it ''

'' Celestine has point variys sama , this bet isn't worth the curse that this ghost might unleash upon us , we should leave ''

'' shut up and get back over here you cowards , we don't even know if he is powerful or not ''

'' I don't want to stay and found out ''

Variys sighs annoyed by the cowardness of the girls yet Naomi seems calm and standing her ground .

'' you should follow after your friends demon , I will not give you another chance ''

'' Demon Lord Variys , I see that you have chosen death , very well then , I shall make you an example , for the coming creatures of your kind , Die !!! '' the voice shouted as black mist covered the whole level , blurring variy's vision until he could barely see the girls .

'' tshk , I can't see shit thanks to this weird mist , where is he '' variys thought to himself while hearing the girls calling for his name , but before he could even react a figure of a man wearing a black cape covering all his body began to take shape , and soon after it turned out that the man is actually a skeleton .

'' what! ! '' variys uttered in surprise .

'' Demon , You refused to get out and now you will know my wraith ''

'' I Should Say The Same to You , Infigar !!!! '' Variys Chanted blasting the Figure with an explosion that destroyed everything in its way , variys smirked , thinking that he got him , but soon his smile faded away as he saw the skeleton coming out of the flames un-phased by his attack

'' what , he took that attack head on and it didn't do any damage ''

'' he is a ghost variys sama , I think magic doesn't work on him '' Celestine shouted

'' what can we do variys '' Naomi asked as she came to his side

'' I don't know , but running away isn't on the table , I Guess I Should Try This Next , Lightning Magic : Lightning Bolt ''

Variys Fired another attack , and just as the previous one , it had hit the target head on , but still he walked out of the rumbles few moments after , unscratched .

'' impossible '' Cana said in disbelieve

'' you creatures seem to not have understood the true scale of my power , so let me show you , why I am the true cursed king of this dungeon , Dark Magic : Aragente !!! '' as the skeleton Chanted The spell a heavy thick black fog covered the whole level once again only this time it brought back an unexpected life-forms with it , variys and the girls were in shock as they were now standing in front of a Hundred monsters from each sizes and species , all of them having a shade of blue covering their body and their eyes were glowing red . they were cursed spirits , Large Snakes , Goblins , Orcs , Wolfs , Giant Spiders , even more skeletons . Hundreds of them .

'' what is this , this is impossible , I have never seen a dungeon level having so many monsters , what should we do Variys sama '' Celestine stated , variys was surprised yet he didn't stand back . He calmly addresses Cana and the Girls .

'' everyone , things are about to get messy , if you want to leave , leave , I will see what I can do , ''

'' variys sama …'' Cana uttered impressed by his bravery

Just as variys was thinking about how he would take down these monsters , Cana steps forwards to his side followed by Celestine and Naomi

'' everyone , I thought you were scared . '' he said

'' we were , but i know that there is no enemy or dungeon who is at the same level of variys sama , therefore there is no need for me to run , we will take them all out together , like we always do '' Celestine stated

'' Cele … ''

'' Don't be stupid , you can't possibly think that you can fight against all of these beasts , I will give you a chance , run now and I will forget about this … '' the skeleton stated

'' there is no way I'm running from a fight , especially against a weakling like you '' variys shouted as he charged at the monster army head on

'' no wait , , you can't possibly …. '' before the skeleton could even finish his sentence variys had already went to attack on of the Ghost Orcs Punishing him from Above , the Orc tried to Fight but he was no match ,

'' Eat This '' variys shouted as he brought down his fists on the beat , nut he was up for a one hell of an unexpected surprise , because as soon as he punched down the orc , the monster vaporized in the air like he was never there ,

'' huh , what is this . did I kill him , no , there was no impact , it's like there was no physical encounter , could it be …. !!! '' variys thought to himself , then turned to cana as she fired one her holly beams the giant spider and it also vaporize s, soon after the girls also caught on to the situation ,

'' what is going on , I can't hit them , it's like they aren't here …. Could it be , Naomi one sama …. ''

'' yeah , your right cele , it seems that these are all nothing but mirages '' Naomi Stated

'' hah , I was wondering why was he so fixated on making us leave without a fight , it seems that we have our self an imposter here . '' variys stated scoring as he stared at the hoard of the cursed spirits

'' im…imposter , know your place demon , I am the king of this dungeon , and you will regret not running away . Kill Him !! '' the skeleton shouted as his eyes turned red followed by the whole skeleton army unsheathing their swords and going straight for variy's head from each side . the girls shouted for him un controllably , although they knew what would happen next , because as soon the those buddies started dropping above variys they would instantly disappear , soon after variys was standing in his place , he didn't take a single step .

'' impossible you didn't move , although you were being attacked by my cursed spirits '' the skeleton uttered in shock

'' it's because they are mere spirits , I didn't feel like my life was in danger , after all these were nothing but a mirage , and illusion you created to scare me away , you have underestimated me , and for that you will pay a heavy price , Naomi '' Variys shouted as he turned aside , he gave a signal to Naomi and she immediately called for the girls to stand next to here ,

'' Cele , Cana come here , !!'' she said

'' what is it , is there something wrong ? '' Celestine asked

'' no , it's just that thing might get messy and you need to be by my side if you want protection …'' Naomi said as she made an enchantment creating a large green magic circle followed by a large Dome that covered both her and the girls .

'' Light Magic : Force Dome Of Faith '' She Chanted

'' what is this , what is she Planning , '' the skeleton shouted once again

'' she isn't planning anything , she is just protecting herself from what's to come … ''

'' huh … protecting … why what's going to happen …. ''

'' I know that this isn't your real body and you are hiding somewhere in this level , and I'm not going to waste my time playing hide and seek … '' variys started as a devilish look drawn on his face once again putting the cursed ghost in alert and fear wanting to flee for his life , but it was too late for that as variys had already started making his enchantment as he gripped his hands together and his eyes lit in violet glow . Uttering only Two Words in a raging voice '' Sōdaina kōhai ''

Suddenly a huge shock wave bursted out of his body sending everything away from him , the ground shook from the impact and the whole dungeon trembled from the power of the enchantment , the shockwave created by this spell sent everything up to smithereens including the cursed spirits who were nothing but mirages , disappearing instantly in the air , everything got destroyed in that level , the only one who were protected were the girls , thanks to no one but Naomi who realized that variys was about to make this devastating enchantment and saved them from his rage . the blast was so big it was even seen from outside the dungeon , the people in the city saw the upper floor gets shattered , but little did they know it was the doing of The Demon Lord Variys .

Soon after the rumble ended , and the dust cleared , Naomi ran towards variys followed by the girls as they called his name in happiness .

'' variys sama , that was amazing , I had no idea you had such a spell hidden . ''

'' hahah , I'm sorry I wasn't able t show it to you , the only one who was able to see it was Naomi because she is the only one who can make a protection dome to withstand the blow . what do you think , amazing huh ''

'' saying that it's amazing would be an understatement , you truly keep surprising me , variys sama ''

Variys laughs and let his ego out in front of the girls , but was interrupted by the sound of something trying to get out from the destroyed level .

'' variys sama , what was that , do you think it's the ghost … '' Celestine asked .

Variys walks toward the source of the sound and find a Leg , a human Leg .

'' I think that we have already established that there are no ghosts or cured spirits in this dungeon …''

He said as he reached for the leg and pulled it out ,

'' it's just a bunch of fraudster who think they can outsmart me , am I right my gambling friend '' variys said with a smirk as he raised the man responsible for all this mess , it was the hunter who he previously had gambled with , who is now of course almost knocked out .

Some Time Later That Day , the hunter bowed down in tear and in fear in front of variys asking for his forgiveness .

'' I am sorry , I am really , really sorry , I thought you were just another low level hunter , I didn't know things will end up this way ''

'' you say that but just moment ago you were trying to trick me into running , so let me guess that what you do , you deceive people into placing bets with you and then you make them run away using you magic , '' variys said

'' yeah, that right , I Can use illusion magic , wish cannot be really useful against those monsters since they basically don't have any fear , so I trick other hunters into making bets with me , that way I can make some money and help my family , I have children and I can't find a propose job to help them , please don't kill me lord variys '' the hunter begged

'' I didn't ask for your whole life story , I could give less crap about your family , you tried to trick me , me the demon lord variys ! '' variys said with a grin

'' variys sama , what should we do ? '' Celestine asked

'' isn't it's obvious , we will report this to the guild , they will take care of him , I bet he was the one that secretly initiated the quest , so that people keep trying to clear it and placing bet with him '' Cana replied but variys disagree with her

'' yeah , your right , thank you , thank you variys sama '' the hunter said in tears

The man gasped in fear

As the man ran to get variys his money , variys could feel the girls staring at him unhappy with his decision .
