Silvie's POV
"Was? Where is she now?" His face became a mixture of sadness and slight happiness, at the mention of the little girl. "She...she, was in pain for a long time- and the black hole in the universe pulled her into it, to stop her from going more pain" I tilted my head, his voice was becoming sad and tired. "So if I get a put on my finger, and Mommy puts the stingy cream on it and it hurts, will the black hole pull me towards it like her?" A smile brifley made it's way onto his features before fading. "No, it's only for people who are in a lot of pain, for a very long time" I nodded and sat on the bed next to him.
"So, Trudy's gone?" He solemnly nodded and turned to look at me. "My name is Derek" I nodded at him with a smile, hopefully lifting his mood. "I'm Silvia, but everybody calls me Silvie, my middle name is Talia, because Mommy said that she was a brave and kind person who took care of her family before the black hole took her. Mommy said that Talia was the most generous and most c-courageous person she'd ever known." Derek smiled at me. "Yeah, I knew Talia too, and your mother's right, she was brave, and she was a very caring person" I smiled proudly at him.
"How did you know Talia?" Derek's face became sad once more. "She was my mother" I didn't question the was because I knew the black hole took her away from everyone. "Silvie, I wanted you here, to talk to you about something" I nodded and sat cross legged- ready for what he was going to say, but nothing could have prepared me for this. "Silv, everybody here, is...different, we arent exactly normal" I tilted my head in confusion. "What do you mean Derek?" I questioned. "I mean, that we all have certain... abilities" I wanted to make him talk more about these 'abilities'.
He closed his eyes, and reopened them again, they were a bright and electric blue, I couldn't help but stare at the unique colour of his eyes. "Lots of people came make their eyes go a certain colour, so Scott can, Peter can, Malia can, Isaac can" As he listed on, I only caught onto two names. "Mommy! And Grandpa?" He nodded meekly, turning towards a stuffed giraffe. "But grandma said that my grandpa lived in San Fransica place" He chuckled and turned back to me. "You've been told a whole lot of lies throughout your life Silvie, and I want you to know the truth." I nodded, trying to prepare myself for what's coming.
"Silv, your mother was adopted, her actual father, your grandfather, is sitting downstairs. Your mother and him dont have the best relationship, I will admit" I felt betrayed, Mommy didn't tell me about any of this, she didn't tell me that her actual family was here. "Can Max make his eyes glow?" I asked, expecting it to be a no. "He can't, he's human." He continued to mutter thing under his breath, "The ugly little-" He was interrupted by the door banging open and an angry Mommy standing there. "Silvia, we're leaving." She said in an dangerously quiet voice. I know its really bad whne she uses my real name.
I started scurrying towards her, but Derek placed a hand on my shoulder, stopping me from going any further. "What are you doing up here Silvie?" Amazingly, her voice was still calm. "I was talking with my new friend Derek" She didn't look too pleased with my response. "You shouldn't be up here, no matter who you're talking to" I shyly nodded. "This is my house Echo" Derek protested. "You are not to talk to him again Silvie" I furrowed my eyebrows. "Why not?" Mommy looks like she could kill somebody. "Because he isnt a good person" I heard a scoff behind me.
"That's cheap, coming from you" Derek sneered while looking at Mommy. Okay, they must not get along very well. "How so?!" Mommy yelled, pointing an accusing finger at Derek. "You left me, you left me mateless, and you start yelling at me?!" Derek snarled, stalking closer to Mommy. "You were a mess, you needed to change" Derek's face became hurt for a quick moment before becoming emotionless again. "I changed, I tried so hard to change for you, and you just shut me out?! How could you do something so heartless, after I tried so hard for you." The room went silent. "You haven't changed, I know you didn't, if you did, this room would not be decorated the same way after five years Derek. You would have gotten rid of it like a man would have!"
I saw a stray tear roll down Derek's face. "The last words you said to me before getting on the train, those last words hit me like a knife, those last words were the last thing you said to me for five years, Trudy wouldn't have wanted this, you said, well, would she have wanted you to end up with some human that doesn't know anything about you, a human, that's doesn't know how to control shifts, a human who knows nothing about Mates or who is actually able to help and love you." Wow, that must have really hurt.
"I need space, away from you, this sounds childish, but you have to think of what you've done, you have to think of what you've destroyed, how many lies you told just to make sure that I never even got a second glance at them, so many lies that will build up until the truth is told, and the I will be the one to tell them, not you, you'll only tell them more lies, and more twisting the truth until the truth is completely gone, until you're nothing but a filthy liar. Whose too selfish to even say that the stupid human you've been dating, isn't related to them whatsoever." His smirk grew.
"Too selfish to tell them who their father is"
