Please explore the wonders of the time loop genre. Stuff like Groundhog Day can be really novel to a story and let you as the author explore a multitude of options for your protagonist. It also lets you kill them off for a reason because they will come back to the beginning if they die. If you need a pretty good example look at "Groundhog Binks" by Terrier on Webnovel because it gives a great idea of what you can achieve by using it. Although, the aforementioned story doesn't have that much deviance from the original story it is still really good and can help prospective authors understand the idea behind it.


I am also pretty sure that there is a forum/group on Fanfiction that is dedicated to this genre.
