Ianin sat in the small room engrossed in the book. As he went along he felt an increasing sense of alarm. His family was more wicked then he'd ever known. He knew of Vya's murder by Airabella. Ianin had only ever seen her as a sweet aunt. He knew of the struggles of Alora and her hidden daughter Elsbeth. He felt especially bad for her for he knew her loneness. He also knew the greatest truth, Onicent wasn't the true leader, his brother Maiguh was.
All this information made Ianin feel more and more heavy.
"It's never been easy," Araia said from her bed. "Being a Keeper."
"Did you remember anything?"
Araia shook her head slightly. "It's all dark."
Ianin read on. He reached a point that disturbed him. It was the appearance of what he could only label as 'something'. This 'something' seemed to be pulling strings within his families story. Balyn had simply disappeared to this 'something'.
He was wondering about the 'something' and flipping through pages skimmed to find any other information. Then he found something that stopped him.
Sonnis.
His sister was attacked by Onicent.
Banished. Sent to the nether.
He gasped, and kept going on. It got darker and darker as he read through. Contrary to how he'd been reading before he seemed to be able to will the pages to show him what he wanted. At first he followed Onicent for the sake of Sonnis. But it shifted away from Sonnis and suddenly another name appeared. Elsbeth. Ianin felt dread as he read Onicent's plans.
Slowly he focused on Sonnis, but found her safe enough.
He put down the book slowly, mind spinning.
"I have to warn him," Ianin muttered.
Araia raised her head slightly, "be careful Ianin."
Ianin looked at her, "I can't leave you."
Then something occurred to him.
"ENDERMAN!" He cried out waving his arms slightly.
Quite suddenly one appeared. Ianin stumbled back.
"I didn't expect that to work," he muttered to himself. Then he looked up at the creature. A shudder went down his spine, but he imagined he was speaking to his uncle and straightened up.
"Lord and uncle," he said, "I am Ianin." He realized that Maiguh would know who he was and blushed slightly. "You are being framed, your brother Onicent has kidnapped the daughter of Alora guised as you. He intends to blame you in order to regain some favour by eroding yours."
Ianin wondered if he should say more. He thought of the lovely girl Elsbeth was. feeling he owed it to her he added. "If you can, please rescue her. Onicent intends to harm her. She is hidden underneath the castle in a large room."
The Enderman stared at him.
"That is all, please carry my message, it is urgent." Ianin bowed his head.
The Enderman disappeared in a flurry of particles. Ianin turned around, Araia was deeply asleep again. He walked to her and brushed the hair out of her face. He knew he had to get her out of here somehow.
He walked to the shelf and picked a more battered book and started reading.
