Light pierced through the window as the Sun rose. It was a new morning and it was my third birthday. The memories of my past life surged into my brain. I remembered everything. With all of the past knowledge, I now had a goal in this sword and magic life, become the strongest in the world.
"It seems the goddess was correct. This is my third birthday. There are things I want to do and try."
I recollected my thoughts about my current situation. My new name was Brandon Vetsk. My family consisted of my parents, an older brother, and an older sister. My father held the position of a Baron but a low class one. I looked into the mirror and saw that I had white hair with one black streak as one of my bangs. One of my eyes was a light blue and the other was a bright pink. It appeared that I had heterochromia but I've never heard of pink eyes.
"First thing's first, I need to find out more about this world. Let's see where the library is at."
I got out of the bed and looked around the room. The room was somewhat medieval but nicely kept. Standard toddler toys and puppets were on the floor and there were children's books on a wooden shelf. As I exited the room, I stepped into a large hallway where I saw the house maid, Sherry. She was a pretty 34 year old woman with a nice and motherly personality. Her hair was long, brown and straight and was about the average height for a woman. Her rosy smiling face came into view.
"Good morning Young Master Brandon." She greeted from down the hall.
"Good morning Sherry. It's really early but do you know where the library is?"
"Now why would you want to go there?"
"I just want to read some more children books."
"Well, I'll show you the room." She walked down the hall and down the stairs. The hallway was only lit by the sun that was spraying through the window. There were a few rooms which were the other bedrooms and down the stairwell was where the past ancestors were. I was met with a wooden door with a label simply stating 'Library'. I thanked Sherry and she left to clean around the house.
I got to working. There was a book named "Past records of Archidon".
'It seems like this world is called Archidon.' I thought. The book talked about the many wars that Archidon had seen. For example, the Holy war between the humans and other mortal races against the demons and the Monster rampages which terrorized the human nation until the Grand Holy Knight was announced and pushed back the waves of monsters. 'Holy war? Monsters? Are these fairy tales? No this is clearly a history book so there must be some fantasy stuff.'
After reading through the rest of the book, I went through skimming some of the books of the library till I found what I wanted. A book titled 'Introduction to Magic' by Merion Linyl. The book first talked about what magic was. 'To first know how to use magic, one must know about the particles in ones body and in the air. Mana. Mana is present in all living beings yet this doesn't mean anyone can use magic. To use magic, you must have an affinity for the elements. The elements are fire, water, earth, wind, dark, light, life, and contract/summoning.'
'That is a lot of elements. I hope I'll be able to make use of at least one of them.' I thought to myself. I kept reading and it briefly said the ways to tell how to know if you have an affinity. Simply it would be to say the magic word for each element.
I put the book down and exited the library. Thirty minutes had past since I was reading but it was still early morning. My family seemed to be asleep so I went to step outside. Standing at the door was the butler. I recalled in my memories that his name was Sam.
"Good morning, Young master Brandon." He greeted.
"Good morning, Mr. Sam. Can I go outside to the yard play." I replied. 'I must remember that I am only three years old.'
"It is quite early but you may go outside. Make sure to return within twenty minutes for breakfast and stay within the fences. Oh, and happy birthday Young master Brandon."
"Thank you!" I took my leave as he opened the wooden door.
