The Best for Her Daughter

The Empress was entertaining her guests when her maidservant entered the room anxiously.

Seeing that the girl was acting rudely, the Empress's expression turned darker. Before she could reprimand this maidservant, the girl had inched closer and whispered a few words.

Her eyes widened in surprise. However, the Empress was quick to cover the expression on her face. She whispered a few words to the maidservant and watched as the girl left.

When she was facing her guests again, the Empress continued to smile as if nothing had happened. She placed the teacup in her hand gently and chuckled. "I'm sorry. Madam Xu, Miss Xu, it seemed that we will have to end this meeting."

Yan Ying flashed an amiable smile. "It's fine. Your Highness, as the mother of the country, you are a busy woman after all."
