Hello everybody ☺️. I am back, but not officially. The thing is, I am in the process of getting my work contracted with Webnovel.
Apparently the writer's helper told me to update my book once a week for three weeks. But when I contacted her yesterday, she told me that it was not true and I had to keep updating my book once a week for, god knows, how long.
Well, of course, my dear readers know that I can't do that due to my exams. But if I don't update, all my hard work will go in vain.
So I found a way out, which is that I will update a special chapter. These chapters will be short—only 200–300 words. These will be snippets of Mei Wei and Aman's lives throughout the different parts of the story.
So here is the first special chapter.
*** VISITING MEI SHAO'S GRAVE ***
Mei Wei looked at the bouquet of white roses in his hands. It was his grandpa's favourite flower. He smiled at the memory of him. His grandfather was the only figure in his life except for Aman, who cared for him. Recollecting the old memories with him, a tear escaped his eyes.
He did not even realise that. Until a pair of soft lips touched his cheek. Mei Wei came out of his trance and looked at the person who had kissed him.
Standing in front of him was his Aman, smiling at him. He was wearing a beige-coloured outfit. His black hair was in a torn-top hairstyle. Mei Wei still could not believe that Aman was now his.
Aman lovingly held his hands and squeezed them. "Don't be sad, my prince. Mr. Mei Shao must be happy looking at you wherever he is."
Mei Wei could only nod at that. He pulled Aman's arms into his and cheered up a little. "Okay, I understand. Shall we go now? He must be waiting for us."
Aman agreed. Both of them interlaced their fingers and walked outside.
****
Once they reached the graveyard, they found the gravestone of Mei Shao, which was right beside his wife's. Mei Wei and Aman kneeled beside their gravestones.
Mei Wei picked up the dead flowers from their graves and changed them with the fresh flowers brought by him. After that, he burned some incense sticks.
He started speaking, "Hello, Grandpa and Grandma. First of all, I miss both of you. I am sure you must have missed your only grandson. After all, didn't you always tell me that I was precious? I apologise that I could not visit you for quite some time, but see, I am here now. And the great thing is, I can walk on my own two feet now!"
"It's all thanks to the dear 'caretaker' brought by you. I know the reason why you brought Aman here too. But you didn't expect that this caretaker of yours would take care of me for my entire life, did you? Here, let's talk with him too."
Mei Wei looked in Aman's direction, and Aman took the cue, "Hello, Mister and Mrs. Mei. I know Mrs. Mei; you already know me. You must have asked everything about me from your husband. I am going to be your grandson's life partner. I assure you, I will take care of him and love him with all my might."
"And Mr. Mei I want to thank you for bringing me here. You put me before your own son. And because of you, I met my prince. I am also sorry to inform you that my revenge has been completed. It means your son is no more. I am sorry."
At this point, Mei Wei squeezed Aman's shoulder. Aman continued further, "I am grateful for your help. If that day you had wished for something else, this story might have been completely different."
"On my way to this journey, I found my love. I promise you that from now on it will be my utmost duty to make your Mei Clan prosperous again."
Then Mei Wei said, "Grandpa and grandma, starting today, we are going to start a new life. Please give us your blessings."
A gust of cool wind passed near them, and Mei Wei felt that he could smell his grandpa's smell mixed in with that.
Both of them got up. Mei Wei pecked Aman and said, "Baby, let's go and have some snacks. After that, we still have a lot of preparation to do."
Thus, like this, both of them walked hand in hand. They were starting a new chapter in their lives. This chapter was not filled with revenge.
Hopefully...
