Chapter 4 Problems

Angelica

"Mommy!" Zeke ran to me with a huge smile on his face,

I hugged him, "Hello, little buddy. Did you miss mama?"

"Well, Hello," Rodrick piped in and I rolled my eyes playfully, "He misses me more. I'm the fairy god mother in here,"

"Uncle Rodrick!" Zeke exclaimed and went to give him a hug, "I sure do miss you!"

Sarah on the other hand is cleaning the living room where all the popcorns was scattered around the floor, "Have you eaten dinner, Sarah?" I asked.

Sarah smiled, "Was about too. How about you? I can cook some if you want,"

"I bought some food we can heat them up in the microwave, how about Zeke?" I said as I unpack the bag.

"Yeah, he already did. What about you sir Rodrick?" Sarah said and grab the food on the table and put it inside the microwave.

"Sure, Sarah. Don't call me 'Sir' sister, Rodrick is fine, don't go all good manners with me." Rodrick said, "Here you little nugget have some cookies, I was about to give you some sour spray but your momma was in a hurry because she saw someone she didn't expect,"

I widen my eyes, Rodrick looking at me, I mouthed him, "No, don't you dare!"

"Really?" Zeke said as he open up his bag of cookies.

"Oh yeah," Rodrick said, looking at me, testing me, Eyeing me, squinting his eyes like a damn bitch.

I mouthed him and frantically waving my hands at him, "Don't you dare you mother fucker! Don't you dare! Friendship over! You hear me? Friendship over!" I hope Zeke didn't hear me curse while his back is facing at me.

"Who?"

Oh my fucking Gosh.

I form an 'x' on my forearms in front of me, and kept on mouthing, "No," at Rodrick. I know he's playing but what if he's not.

"She saw a ghost," Rodrick said and burst out laughing. Well... His not wrong.

"A ghost?," Zeke looked at me and I hurriedly plastered a fake smile and he look at Rodrick again.

I raised my middle finger at him and he just give me flying kisses, "Yes, A ghost. That has been gone for 5 years and came back and then gone again, magic is it not?"

Zeke with a confused face and me giving Rodrick death glares, "That's not a Ghost," Zeke said, "That's a magician,"

Rodrick tapped his chin pretending to think of something, "Oh yeah, silly me. It was a magician, your so smart aren't ya? Just like your mama."

Zeke giggled, "I know,"

Rodrick came at me and give me apologetic kisses, "Get away from me you bitch, I'm still wondering why your my best friend," I whispered and smacking his shoulders.

"Yeah, I know. I love you, too." Rodrick chuckling as he made his way to the dining table with Zeke.

"Angela, Dinner's ready," Sarah called,

I look at my watch and it is almost 9 pm. It's very late for Zeke, it's time for his bed.

"Zeke, it's way passed your bed time." I said as I sat on chair,

"I'm not sleepy, Mama," He said clinging the bag of cookies in his hands. "I wanna eat ice cream,"

"Your gonna have some sugar rush if you do. You can eat it tomorrow, okay Love?" I said and grab some food for myself.

Zeke nodded and said, "Okay," and yawned,

"I thought you weren't sleepy?" I playfully said,

Zeke rubbed his eyes we, "I am not,"

"Yup, let's go brush your teeth young man. We do not want cavities in your teeth now aren't we?" Sarah said as he carry him upstairs,

"When are you going to tell him?" Rodrick said frankly.

I shrugged my shoulders, "I'm not planning to,"

He showed me a sympathetic face, "Don't let the kid figured it out by himself, Angelica. You know better."

I sigh and looked at him, "I know Rodrick but I still don't know, when and how and... I don't know," I slump my shoulders, "I'm not ready at all. I don't wanna think about it anyway because I have Jeff. I don't think I should tell Zeke anytime soon. He doesn't need to now that Jeff is around that would be a bit uncomfortable,"

"If your thinking of your boyfriend's feelings being uncomfortable with your son looking for his dad then the problem here is 'you' Angelica," He disappointedly point at me, "You are better than that, don't make me slap you," Rodrick said coldly and firmly.

"I know but I just don't want to talk about Nicholas today or any day. I don't want him in my future, Rodrick not ever. I had enough of him, he left so that means 'no' He does not want me and Zeke to be a part of his life." I said,

"Uh huh," He chewed and swallowed up his food, "But sis let me tell you, what if your son realizes that he wouldn't be alive without a Father and start looking for him, what are you going to do? There's at least 50% chance that at this certain age of him, he is gonna ask and he is gonna get confused why all the cartoons he watch has Mom and a Dad while he does not have it," He cocked his head and stare at me dead in the eye.

"Damn it," I cussed. "I just hope that day won't ever come," I said, massaging my temples.

"Oh, It will come." He said.

"What will I tell him?" I asked looking at him.

He gave me a look, "The truth?" It came out more like a question than a statement. He dropped his spoon and look at me, "You are the smartest person I know but when it comes to Nicholas, you are the dumbest bitch I know."

I stare at my plate, hoping it would help me fix my problems but all I see is a greasy microwave food that I bought at a random store. "I know. I just hope that day won't ever come."

"You can never escape reality," Rodrick said and continue eating his food.
