Chapter 5 Conversation

Angelica

"Bye, Angelica. Thanks for Dinner. We can finally have a two beautiful rest day." Rodrick said as he step out of the door,

"Yeah," I agreed. "Finally a little rest, Thank you again Rodrick for everything." I leaned on the door frame.

"I know, Okay good night, tell Zeke I went home, okay?" He said and kissed my forehead.

"I will, Take care. Drive safe, Bye!" I said as he wen to his car, I waved my hands at him and saw his car disappear down the road.

I went upstairs and went to Zeke's room. He was reading a book, titled, "Ugly duckling,"

"Hey," I said and sat on his bed, he looked sad and I held up his chin, "Hey what's wrong?"

I look at his green eyes that looks exactly like Nicholas. He frowned and said, "The duckling is not that ugly Mom, Look." He showed me the duckling on the book, "Isn't she pretty? The other ducklings are bullying her,"

I smiled, Zeke always sees the beauty of everything, I guess he got that from me, "I know hon because the other chicks were judging her because she looks different."

"But they don't know her yet,"

"Well that's how the world is hon," I gently caress his arms, "Do you want me to read it?"

He excitedly tuck in his bed, "Yes please,"

I smiled and read the book for him when I was in the of the climax of the story he was already asleep, I close the book and put it on the side table along with the 50 children book I bought, Zeke is so fond of books just like me but the more he grows the more he wants to know art with me. "I love you much, Zeke," I whispered and kiss the top of his head, I stared at his face and I slowly see the same features of Nicholas to him. Those long thick lashes, his green gray eyes, the perfectly shape eyebrows, and the hair. Zeke lips and nose are much likely look like mine, "You look so much like your father," I whispered. "Please don't ask about him, Zeke. I'm not ready at all," I plead silently.

I slowly and silently close the door hoping he won't wake up and went downstairs, "Hey, Sarah let me help you,"

Sarah smiled, "You should rest, Angela,"

I sigh, "Do I really look that bad?"

"No," She said as she wipe her wets hands to a towel, "But I know you're tired. I've been living in this house for 7 years and I've been with you for I don't know how long and I know your tired and when you are not,"

I smiled cheekily. "You really know me that well do you,"

"That's what you always tell to you Mother," She grinned at me.

"I miss my Mama," I frowned. No matter how stubborn she is sometimes, I do sure miss her.

"I'm sure she misses you too," Sarah came and hug me, "Anyway thank you so much for the gift you give to my daughter,"

I smiled and broke the hug, I looked at her and said, "Of course, we are all strong single Mom," I laughed, "My boyfriend doesn't count," I jokingly said.

Sarah is older than me, she's in her 30. She's a single Mom too, she gave birth at her mid 20's her boyfriend left her as well but that doesn't stop her.

"You saw him?" She suddenly asked.

I looked at her, "Yeah," I said trying to keep my voice calm as possible.

"How was he?"

I shrugged, "We didn't talk, Sarah I was shocked too. I literally ran away." I chuckled, "I think we both are," I awkwardly laughed.

"Did he looked at you?"

"Yeah he did, he never left his eyes on me." I said, remembering the stupid event happened hour ago.

"He must have been super duper shocked," Sarah laughed, I know for sure Sarah still remember him.

I laughed, "Yeah, I bet. His skin and features and face just look exactly the same, he didn't change one bit but he's a bit muscular." I said, trying to remember every inch of his physical appearance even though it was an unexpected meet up, I did have the time to study his figure.

"You didn't change either. You are still the bubbly Angela I know,"

"Your the only who calls me that," I said,

"I don't think so," Sarah said,

Yeah, I forgot.

"But does it feel like he wants to talk though?" Sarah asked as she sat on the chair on the dining table.

I shook my head and sat as well, "I don't think so," I shrugged, "Maybe we are bit too shock to move or know what to do. But as for now Sarah, I don't think I don't want any closure. I'm completely fine without him, I mean look at me," I gestured myself, "I'm completely fine and healed, I build my own home, a stable job, and I support my son without any help,"

"You are the most strongest person I know, Angela. I hope you know that, I hope you know your worth, I hope your not angry with him, I hope you are not blaming yourself all over again. I just want you to be happy, I'll be here to support you no matter what, okay?" Sarah said as she rubbed my arms, "You are like a daughter to me, I was your nanny in your teens and I am now a nanny to your son, I cared so much. You know that alright?"

"I know, Sarah. You were there through my ups and down, I couldn't thank you enough." I said and kiss her cheeks.

"Now, go to sleep. You need it, Don't think about Nicholas and think of your boyfriend instead. He's the sweetest. Zeke and Jeff may have a couple of misunderstandings but at least he's trying, okay?" Sarah said with a little comfort in her voice.

I nodded, "I'm just gonna throw the memory of today and pretend it didn't happened,"

"Now, go sho and clean yourself up," She waved her hand at me and giggly gave her a goodnight kiss.
