Noire's p.o.v.
Kid left to go look around.... I'm all alone. My mother left me here.
"TEDDY! DON'T YOU EVER ABANDON ME!!!!! I think I need a nap. Let's take one together.... I miss mommy..." I hugged Teddy then realized something. You smell like Kid damn it! Ahhhhh! I gotta wash you! He touched you! Damn it! But then again... he was the one that brought you here and came for me.... I guess I can wash you later. It's nap time. I curled up into a ball crying myself to sleep.
"Noire! I'm here for you! Don't cry! It makes me wanna cry!" Someone was cuddling me as I slept. Holy shit! Is that Kid?!? No, it's Fade. When did she get here? Where's my... she's gone. I can't ever talk to her again.... The last time she saw me I was running from Kid who was shooting at me.
"Fade? When did you get here? Why hasn't Kid taken me home yet? Oh... I can't go home yet can I? All the movies I've seen with murder always has someone who asks questions. Is that what I'm still here for? Why can't they ask me somewhere else or leave me alone until I feel better? Fade, why are you in my bed? I mean, it's nice that you came to see me. Oh what the heck! Come here!" I started cuddling her back as I cried.
"It's ok Noire. I came as soon as i heard! Kid told my daddy and he is sending some people over to ask questions and find out who did it. When it is done i will take you home.How does that sound?"
"Thank you Fade.... Can I sleep now? I'm so tired...."
"I WANT TO SEE MAKA! I DON'T WANT TO INVESTIGATE WITH YOU STEIN! YOU'RE SO SCARY!!! MAKA ISN'T NEARLY AS SCARY AS YOU ARE!!!! FIND SOMEONE ELSE!"
"Spirit, we were asked by Lord Death to investigate. If you leave now, you will be a disappoint to Lord Death and whoevers house this is."
"You mean you don't even know who DIED?!?" Who is in my mommy's house? I jumped out of bed leaving Fade.
"I'll be right back." I looked over at her and left the room following the voices. Kid was in the room with two guys. Holy crap it's the screw guy! Is he gay? The guy who I am assuming is Spirit and Stein sound like a married couple. I'm gonna kill these idiots.
"What are you doing here? You two are so loud, and I can't take it. Why don't you two leave?" I tilted my head to the side and smiled at them.
"Hey Noire. This is Stein and Spirit, my dad must have chosen them to investigate." Kid faced me and shrugged.
"Stein's scary! Kiiid! Why him? I don't wanna talk to him! Fade is scared of him too! Fade! That doctor guy is here!" I ran back towards my room to safety.
"What? OH MY GOSH NOIRE WE ARE LEAVING RIGHT NOW!" I heard Fade yelling.
"I don't care anymore! I just want my mommy, Fade, and Teddy! GO AWAY KID! I AM NOT FORGIVING YOU FOR MAKING TEDDY SMELL LIKE YOU!"
"Hey don't go anywhere otherwise we can't do our jobs and we will be in trouble!" I heard the screw guy tell me.
"Will you go away if I answer the questions? That would be nice.... Can I hold Teddy while you ask?"
"Well of course you may hold your teddy! Awe Stein she reminds me of Maka!" I whirled around.
"How do you know Maka?" I said my voice dripping with poison. I gave him a fierce look and stared at him.
"Maka is Spirit's daughter. If you answer the questions we will allow you to go home."
"And if I don't wanna because you're scary?"
"Please don't give us any trouble."
"I'm gonna go get Teddy before you start asking questions." I ran to my room and snatched Teddy away from Fade and went back into the living room.
"Well let me begin. How did you find your mother?" I sat down on the couch and looked at Kid as Stein asked. It still smells like you!
"I found mommy on the floor. Sh-she wasn't moving, so I went over to her.... Kid, can I hold your hand? He's too scary, and I miss mommy. I want Fade too! FADE!" Fade was already walking into the room and sat down right by me looking like she would pass out at any minute.
"Sure." Kid walked over and sat on the other side of me giving me his hand as he faced me giving a slight smile a bit sleepy looking himself.
"Fade, if you need to, you can go to sleep. Ok, next question." Fade shook her head no.
"When you got to the house did anything seem off to you? Is anything in this room missing or out of place?"
"Ummm... Mommy didn't greet me with a smile if that's what you mean.... The lights were off, and... well, she didn't answer me when I got home. I didn't hear anything except for me. Umm... nothing appears missing. Wait, I take that back!" I stood up and went over to the shelf where mommy kept the pictures. "Someone stole my mommy's picture of me making cookies when I was three! Why would someone want that?!? I'm gonna kill the bastard myself!"
"Calm down, Spirit. Make note of that. Next question, do you have anyone in mind that might be a suspect?"
"Everyone I knew who knew my mommy liked her. How could they not? She was always smiling and making things better. I don't have any idea who would kill my mommy.... My stepdad is overseas right now. Someone should call him and let him know what happened...." I went and sat back down with Fade and Kid.
"Why is he over sea and when is he supposed to come back, what's his number?"
"Well, he had to go overseas for work. I don't know when he will be back, and I don't really care. His number is in my phone, so here." I handed Stein my phone with his number already pulled up.
"Spirit, trace this number while I call him. Let's see where he really is."
"OUR FIRST SUSPECT. How sweet. Whatever you say boss."
"Wait, you think my stepdad did it? Why would he do that?"
"Everyone is a suspect until further proven not guilty."
"So Kid, Fade, and I are suspects? Wow, just wow."
"OH MY, DOES THIS MEAN I AM ONE TO STEIN?"
"NO you moron."
"How lovely. Are you two a couple? You act like you are, and how would you know Spirit didn't do it unless he was with you. I'm not accusing you Spirit by the way."
"Well i know he isn't, I've been with him all day working."
"Uh huh... Working."
"Don't think like that."
"Why do you care? You aren't my mother.... Mommy.... Crap, I don't wanna cry in front of you people."
"Well if you-"
"ILL BE YOUR MOMMY DONT CRY!" Spirit started walking over towards me and Stein held him back.
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"
"Never mind, I'm not scared of Stein anymore. Spirit scares me!!!!! Fade! Don't let that guy near me! I can see why Maka doesn't like him now!!!!"
"Maka don't like me?" Spirit started crying and curled up into a corner.
"Now look at what you done, Spirit I'm coming!" Stein started to comfort Spirit. "Maka likes you i swear!"
"I'm gonna be quiet now.... Teddy! Where'd he go! DAMN IT! GIVE ME MY DAMN TEDDY BACK! WHO TOOK IT?!?"
"Here you go." Fade handed teddy back to me.
"Thank you. Next question please. I wanna go home soon." I hugged Teddy and curled up next to Fade and Kid waiting for Spirit to recover.
"Who else do you have, how about your father? Where is he?"
"He died on my 9th birthday in a car accident trying to come home to see me."
"WHAT NOIRE YOU NEED A DADDY TOO? I WILL MAKE STEIN BE YOUR D-" Stein glared at Spirit.
"NO THE HELL YOU WONT"
"Damn it."
"Anyways, so how about any other family members or close friends. Anyone that seems jealous... or did she stick close to just being alone and had no company besides you and your stepdad over the years?"
"Well, I'm an only child and my mom doesn't have any siblings. My stepdad never had any of his family members over, so I never met them. My mother had a lot of friends though. Her company would make everyone at ease, and she was always pleasing to be around. Everyone who met her liked her almost immediately. She would have her academy friend over all the time. Her name was Natasha Brooks, but she was a nice person, almost like an aunt to me."
"So we should investigate on her too?"
"Pfft. She wouldn't hurt mommy! She was my mommy's meister when she went to the academy. Too bad mommy never became a death scythe like she wanted."
"Let's write that down spirit and make sure you put to look into their history at the academy later. Alright you three carry on your way, spirit and i have a lot to do here, we wont need you for it. if we need you later we will stop by and chat with you. i suggest you go directly home and stay there for your safety. Lord Death will be there waiting."
I stood up and went to get my things. "Hey guys? Should I leave what I brought here?"
"No, doubt they need it. Let's just go with it." Fade suggested and walked out to my bike and Kid followed behind.
"Hey Stein. Find the bastard. And please don't hurt my mommy. Stay out of the album over there. I promise there is nothing in it except pictures of me, mommy, and daddy." I walked out of the house and started up my motorcycle. If he looks, my life will be ruined. Spirit seems obsessed with children.... I'm gonna go home and take a long shower. Today is ruined. I miss mommy....
Fade's p.o.v.
Who would want to kill Noire's mom? Nobody that I know of. When I had found out I was so close to being finished with the show. I haven't slept in a while and we are about to be back at the mansion. Noire will probably want to sleep when we get back home and so I will let her. Knowing her she will make me lay by her while she sleeps, of course I will. I don't want her to get hurt if someone snuck into the house without anyone noticing. That killer will probably come after her next, and I will be there to protect her. We arrived back at the mansion and walked inside.
"Well how did it go? Tell me it went well and Spirit didn't distract Stein to much from his duty I assigned them." Lord Death asked and greeted us at the door. Noire just looked at him and went upstairs holding Teddy by his arms.
"It went fine. I think they already have a few suspects, now if you excuse me I am needed upstairs." I scooted around my dad then hurried upstairs and went right into Noire's room. "Do you want me to lay with you?" I asked her softly as I watched her crawl into bed.
"It doesn't matter anymore. You can do what you want, but I'm going to go to sleep." I nodded and sat down in the floor leaning against the bed.
"I will stay here till you fall asleep."
"Get in bed with me silly! Of course I care! My mom just died, and I was the one who found her! Get up here, so I can cuddle with you instead of crying by myself into my pillow! Teddy can't help me right now either! I don't care if you like Kid over me! I just want you and my mommy, but I can only have one!" I looked over my shoulder at her before I crawled into bed with her and she laid her head on my stomach and started crying.
"I don't prefer my brother over you, your too special to me. You are so cute sometimes, it's ok to just cry. I am here to protect you. Fall asleep and dream something good. I will be here when you wake up."
"Thanks Fade.... Don't tell anyone that I cried ok? Please? I'm so tired right now...."
"I won't tell a soul."
"Ok. If I find your brother cuddling up next to you in my bed, I'll be pissed."
"No one will enter this room with me awake."
"Hey, is she alright? Lord Death told me to watch you two.... Why are you glaring at me? What did I do?!?" Kid had entered her room as soon as I had finished my sentence.
"GET OUT." I started to sit up as I made a fist.
"B-but I need to check on her! Lord Death asked me to! Plus, I thought I would sleep on the floor to make sure nothing happened in here like a guy killing you two! It couldn't hurt more to do that!"
"Sleep in the hall then. I don't want you in here, understood?"
"What's Kid doing in here? I'm too sleepy to tell him to get out of my room. Fade, if he is going to fight, just let him do what he wants. No...more fighting...." I sighed and laid back down and closed my eyes.
"Fine, you do what you wish, Kid." I am too tired myself to fight.
"Before I nod off, LIZ PATTI! SLUMBER PARTY IN MY ROOM! Just to keep Kid from being alone on the floor." She fell asleep with her head on me. The twin pistol girls came in making a pallet and fell asleep making kid sleep in the middle. I stayed up listening to Noire breathe. I can't sleep even though I'm tired.
"Fade.... Mom...." I looked at Noire. Is she sleep talking? I wrapped a arm around her to comfort her as the other arm went behind my head to lift it up in a comfy position.
"Mommy, don't leave me...." She started crying in her sleep and curled up into a ball against me.
"Noire...shhh, I'm right here." I comforted her and then ran my fingers through her hair and smiled softly.
"Fade...better....not ever....leave me....like mommy." I never will Noire. I glanced around the room to make sure they were not awake and then whispered to her.
"I will never leave your side till the day I die, if I die it will be for you." I closed my eyes and sighed. This will be a long night. Noire cuddled up to me and finally quieted down for the rest of the night. When dawn approached the light shinned into the rooms from her windows and I stretched out from bring so stiff in order to let Noire sleep. No one stirred not even Noire. I'm glad it was a calmer night then I expected. I moved out of Noire's arms slowly and went out into the hall to check around the house just to be safe.
"Hello! You are up early." My dad said as he passed me.
"I didn't fall asleep. Too worried for Noire's safety. Are you heading off somewhere?"
"Ya! To the academy. Stein and Spirit said they have found a lead, plus I am going to assign you guys a guardian/ butler until we have the person in prison." WHAT?
"Why can't Kid do it?"
"Because I figured I would put in someone who don't keep secrets from me."
"Sure. I think I will go make breakfast." I walked off down the hall in the wrong direction to the stairs hoping he wouldn't notice.
"ARE YOU OK? You seem tired."
"I don't know what you are talking about." I shrugged and checked every room and closet seeing no one, when I finished I went back to bed right next to Noire.
"Hey you. Where'd you go? Please get some sleep. I feel terrible for keeping you up last night crying. Look, I'm better now! Nothing is going to come for me, ok? I'm perfectly safe. It was just an...incident. Maybe it was just some crazed killer who just wanted to for no reason. Doesn't mean that I'm next. Get some sleep while I go take a shower. We should all go out and get ice cream today." Noire sat up in bed and looked at me.
"I don't know what you are talking about, I went to sleep last night. Honest, it isn't fr- I'm fine. I think I will wait right here while you take your shower then we can go make breakfast or something."
"Hmm... Please don't lie. You should see yourself before saying that you slept. Go to sleep, or you'll make me worry. I will be fine, and If I talked in my sleep last night, please ignore it. I meant nothing I said.... Did I talk in my sleep? I know that I ha- I'm gonna take a shower. Go to sleep before I have Kid cuddle with you. He'll make you go to sleep." My eyes widened for effect.
"S...S...SURE, I will go to sleep if that is what you want." She smiled at me and went over to the sleeping Kid.
"Hey sweepy head! How are you this morning? Do me a favor will you? Go cuddle with Fade and get her to go to sleep. I think she is scared and needs you." She smiled as she shook Kid trying not to laugh.
"Huh? Fade is scared?"
"She's scared some big bad monster is going to jump out from under the bed and kill us all. You know because of yesterday? I'm gonna take all of us out for ice cream today too! So go comfort your twin before she looses her mind. See, she looks so scared over there!"
"OH FADE! Hold on KIDDY IS COMING FOR YOU!" Kid started to sit up and I backed away to the wall quickly and held my hands up.
"NO! DON'T YOU DARE TOUCH ME!" He started coming towards me pity on his face and I seen Noire smirking. DAMN HER.
"I'm gonna take a shower Kid! Make sure she gets some well earned rest!" She winked at me and walked out of her room with a pile of clothes. Kid made his way into the bed and I kicked at him. No way am I going to fall asleep in the SYMMETRICAL LOVING DORK'S ARMS! He grabbed one of my feet and pulled me down into a laying position then laid down himself pulling me into his arms and held me tightly. NO WAY IN HELL I WILL FALL ASLEEP.
"Sleep Fade."
"No." He rubbed my head.
"Go to sleep, go to sleep.." I turned towards him and yawned then shoved him out of Noire's bed.
"NO!" I jumped to my feet and he grabbed my ankles and made me fall back down on the bed.
"NOT SO FAST!" He laughed and somehow he managed to get back into bed and had me in his arms again. "GO to sleep, go to sleep..." I sighed and closed my eyes pretending to fall asleep and he let me go slowly and crawled out of bed waking Patti and Liz up telling them to get out of the room and stand by the bathroom door while Noire takes a shower, they told him right and left the room then crawled back into bed with me and held me close again. I could feel him watching me sleep, it feels so creepy! DAMN HIM. Why didn't he just leave me alone in this bed?
"Get your hands off of me." I said as I looked up at him into his eyes.
"I knew you wasn't asl-" I shoved him off the bed then ran out the room and towards my own as he followed me.
"IF I WANT TO SLEEP WITH YOU THEN I WILL TELL YOU THAT MYSELF, NOW LEAVE ME ALONE." I yelled at him as I reached my bedroom door and walked in slamming the door shut behind me and walked over to my bed laying down on it staring over at my door. I seen him sit down in front of it and heard him lay his head against the door.
"Fine, I will stay here if you need me just call for me." I sighed and tuned on some music and waited patiently for Noire. I will not fall asleep.
Noire's p.o.v
I climbed out of the shower and dried off getting dressed. I had the radio turned up so that way I could get my mind off of everything. Demons was currently playing. I started to sing along with it while I blow dried my hair. By the time I actually had it dried and put up in a pony tail, the song was already over. Awww... I like that one. Oh well, I need to get out of the bathroom anyways. I turned off the radio as it started playing If I Die Young.
"Alright! Time to get this day to be my bitch! Yeah! It's gonna go my way today! Well, unless Fade and Kid decide to rain on my parade. They better not! I mean it! You hear me world! DON'T RAIN ON MY PARADE! I'M GONNA GO TAKE THE OTHERS OUT TO GET ICE CREAM AND NOTHINGS STOPPING ME!!! THEY DESERVE IT!!!! YOU HEAR ME?!? THAT'S RIGHT! I'M LEAVING THE DAMN HOUSE TODAY!" I walked over to the door and threw it open only to see Liz and Patti staring at me with a what the fuck just happened face. Ummmm.... Hi there! That wasn't me a minute ago....
"Um, hi? I'm gonna go to my room and die from embarrassment. The bathroom is yours if that's what you wanted.... Bye." I ran to my room and slammed the door.
"What was that about Noire?" I heard Liz ask outside my door.
"You never saw me. You never heard me. You don't even know where I went. I don't exist anymore." I hid my face in my pillow.
"Hey Noire, when will we go get that ice cream?" Patti asked. I got up and ran over to the door grabbing my wallet and put on a smile.
"Never mind, I exist! Let's go get that ice cream! Where is Kid and Fade? I thought I left them in my room together...." Liz pointed down the hall towards Fade's room where Kid is sitting in front of the door. "Hey Kid, mind moving? I'm gonna go get Fade, and then I'm going to take us out to get ice cream!" I smiled at him as I approached. He jumped to his feet and opened the door for me.
"There you go-"
"GET OU- Oh hey Noire." A sleepy Fade yelled and then hushed as she saw me.
"Don't yell at me! It makes me sad!" I started crying and ran down the hallway downstairs and threw myself on the floor. "If Fade doesn't want me, then I must be trash! Terrible, terrible trash! I thought she loved me! Damn Kid poisoned her mind! I'm going to go out by myself now! Screw all of you!" Fade walked up to me and got on her knees.
"Sorry Noire I thought you were Kid! I swear I didn't mean to yell at you, your not filthy trash at all." Just as she said that a knock came from the front door.
"Ok, I forgive you! Let me go answer the door and shoo off whoever it is! Then lets go get ice cream!" I stood up dusting myself off and fixed my pony tail. I straightened my white shirt and walked over to the door. I opened it just as Kid came rushing downstairs.
"Hey! Do-"
"Hi there! What do you want?" I looked up at a guy with orange hair and green eyes. Is he supposed to be a carrot? Seriously, people today. Wait, he's kind of cute.... But what is he doing here? I don't know anybody that reminds me of a carrot. Maybe Kid knows who he is. He looked down at me with a smile on his face. He doesn't appear that old. Maybe he goes to the academy?
"Hi, is this where the Death family lives?" He rubbed the back of his head. "I get lost sometimes."
"Yeah, what do you want? Are you here for Kid? Kid! I think this guy wants yo-"
"No, I actually came here on business. Lord Death sent me to watch you guys because of the incident." I looked at him again. I narrowed my eyes.
"I want proof." I don't care if he is cute! I will kill him if he is lying!
"He thought you would say that... You are Noire right?"
"Proof." I held my hand out to him as I kept one hand on the door to shut it if he was lying.
"Here. I don't really have a use for this anymore now do I?" He handed me a piece of paper that had a note on it. Hmm.... He really was sent by Lord Death. He isn't stopping me from leaving in two minutes.
"Hey Kid! You don't have to babysit anymore! Too bad because I'm kicking you out of my room too! Fade, I'll let you stay! Safe haven from Kid! Yay!" I ran back into the house with the note and left the door open.
"She really is careless isn't she?" Carrot followed me into the house and shut the door.
"WHAAAT?!? I WANTED TO BABYSIT YOU TWO!!!! DAMN IT DAD!!!! DO YOU REALLY THINK I AM THAT WORTHLESS?!? WHO IS REPLACING ME?!?" Kid was pacing back and forth as he screamed. I pointed to the guy behind me.
"Carrot here was sent to babysit. Hey, I'm going out for ice cream, so don't try to stop me!" I turned around to give him a glare.
"I'm not a carrot! My name is Adrian! I-I go to the DWMA!" He was blushing as I turned back around to view the scene before me.
"Well, if carrot head here is babysitting us then I just will have to make his life hell for now on instead of Kid's." Fade said then yawned as she stretched.
"Awwww Fade! You can go back to bed if you are so tired! I'll buy you ice cream later, ok? Liz, Patti, and Kid, let's go!" I patted Fade on the back then started to leave while carrot head's mouth dropped open. Fade turned back around to address me again.
"No! I'm coming with you, I'm not tired I swear, I was just...just waking myself up." I smiled at her.
"Hey Fade, can you take your skateboard? I probably have to take dummy on my motorcycle with us before he says no. You know how people that Lord Death assigns to deal with us act. They won't let us do anything fun! Speaking of that, any word about leads?"
"Dad said that they have their suspects. I guess I could ride my skate board. Let's go."
"Alright! Hey Carrot Dummy? You're coming with us or you can stay here! Kid, stop crying and let's go before it gets too weird here! I can't take all of this!" I smiled at everyone as I pulled my keys out of my pocket.
"I'm not stupid! I already told you my name was Adrian!"
"I'm changing it to Carrot Dummy until Kid gets his job back. For now, you have my complete and upmost disrespect. That's what you wanted right?" I watched him as he went pale and fainted. "Well, he's worthless. Ok, I got rid of the babysitter! Let's get this show on the road!" I giggled as I ran out of the house leaving Adrian behind on the floor. Kid had Liz and Patti transform for the trip and the Death twins summoned their stupid skateboards. I started up my motorcycle, and we all went to the ice cream shop.
