CHAPTER XXXII

The crackling of the flames had long since stopped, leaving the room in a silence broken by our breathing and Sarah's soft sigh against the skin of my neck.

"Mmm," she murmured against my neck causing a shiver to run through me, "I needed you so much."

"And I need you, my love," I replied in kind as I caressed her soft back, "It's going to be cold soon, let's go to bed," I said as I tried to get up, which she stopped me from doing.

"Noo," she said in a moan "I'm very comfortable here Matt" she complained.

"You'll be more comfortable upstairs, with me," I said as I slowly slid out from under her, "I'll be with you in fifteen minutes, OK?"

"Fifteen minutes Matt Dunbar, not a minute more," she said authoritatively as she opened her eye a little and looked at me as serious as her totally relaxed face would let her.
