Emery's POV

We were seated in a terrace. I don't know if 'terrace' is a mundane word in front of these non-human people. I still don't know what to call them, they say 'mundane' like that's a disgusting word to even speak. Truth be told, normal human beings are way better than them.

*You wish.*

Can you not interfere in everything I speak for God's sake?

*Let me think. Nah.*

I regret listening to you.

*I regret being with you.*

Mutual.

"You really love arguing with your conscience, don't you?" I looked at Chanel, surprised to see her looking at me smugly as she passed me a smirk. I just stared at her, wide eyed.

You are always told to watch your tongue before you speak, I can't even think without the doubt that this God knows what lady knows exactly what is going on in my brain. Could this day get any better right now?

The scowl lady who greeted us at the foyer came to me holding a bottle of mineral water.

*You are gonna drink that?*

I am questioning my decision right now.

*Thought so.*

Never would I drink this water, how can I? Not in my right mind at least. What if it is spiked?

*Hah spiked? I beg to differ. They are NOT ordinary human beings. Think big. Out of the box.*

Out of the box? You are kidding me right?

"I am going to go insane if this continues. Let's discuss business shall we?" Chanel broke my train of thoughts for the third time tonight. I am starting to hate her, no wait despise is the correct word. No one, I repeat NO ONE interferes with what I am thinking.

"Despise is an over the border word, sweetie. Anyway Marcus, are you willing to truthfully testify whatever I am going to ask you now?"

"Where are we? In a judiciary? You very well know you can't ask us questions whenever you feel like. And you sure as hell cannot hold us accountable for something you are not sure of. It's against the edicts of the dark world. You know so too." Dylan prompted.

"Very well delivered, you delirious boy. Now if you stop thinking with your baby mind for a few minutes and actually listen to what I have to say. It has come under my concern that Ezra has been a bit of a wreck, causing total demolition in the mundane world. Now are these rumors true?" Chanel finished off with a sarcastic smile.

"Look at you, being so in control. Last I checked you hated anything that had to do with Ezra." Smirked Luke.

"You had no right to bring that up, Luke".

"We are talking about rights now, huh? Also I was named Lucas if you must know, but I think you already know that since you called Marco by his full name." There was still a smirk on his pretty face.

*Stop calling everyone you met today a pretty face.*

It was a reflex action. I am sure I did not mean that!

*Of course you didn't!*

Fine, he has been gifted in the looks department. Personality? Not so much.

*Haha how would you know? He has not given you a second look the whole night.*

Stop making me feel stupid.

*Always.*

"Do not sass me, Luke. Answer me."

"It's Lucas. And what Ezra does is none of our business, not anymore."

"Why is it none of your business? Isn't Ezra your-"

"All of this is none of your business. Don't you dare complete that sentence." Luke almost growled. Wait, not almost. HE ACTUALLY GROWLED, PROPER LION SOUNDS. I don't know what Luke meant by this 'growl' but it made Chanel smirk as she uttered the next words which caused a glass shatter.

"Why? Afraid your precious reputation will be ruined if I tell them that Ezra Carter is actually your brother?"
