CHAPTER 8
Emery's POV:
Pin drop silence was what I heard. Don't come at me, saying you don't hear silence. You get what I mean, right? And just 2 seconds after the said silence, a glass shattered. Marco turned to me wide eyed, only then did I realize I was the one responsible for breaking the glass bottle which was previously handed to me.
*Why did you break the bottle? It's not like you are related to anything that has happened in these past few hours.*
I just feel his pain.
*Hah now playing the sentimental card as an excuse for glass breaking? Stupefying.*
I suggest you shut up before Chanel points out your dumb self arguing with me. And they are in the middle of an intense conversation.
*Saved by the 'intense conversation' AND I ROLLED MY EYES AT YOU IF YOU MUST KNOW.*
I have eyes, you on the other hand are far from visualizing from them or 'rolling' them. Hah at you.
"We are playing the name shame game then?" Luke spoke in a calm tone, much to our surprise. Hearing him, Chanel's expression dropped and she looked at him almost pleadingly.
"Why did you call us here, Chanel? Why is this mundane with us?" Marco initiated as Chanel was awfully quiet which was so unlike her.
"Why must you know? As far as I remember, we were not answering any questions." I was astonished as to how quickly she composed herself.
"Because it involves us. Ezra on the other hand has no business with you, not that we know of." Marco replied again and I could not help but wonder how unexceptionally quiet was Luke, or Lucas.
"Don't call me Lucas. That's for the people I have absolutely nothing to do with and for whom I hold major hate." muttered Luke in a low, gruff voice. I jumped in surprise, not literally and stared at him. He possessed a bored look on his face as he said, "Mum is from the Siren family. I inherited those super powers of hearing thoughts from her. Don't worry I know you think I am a pretty face, I think so too." he winked. He seriously winked. For the first time this night, he was not serious and I found this delusional and a figment of my imagination as I kept gawking at him.
"It annoys me." he said again.
"What does?" I was finally able to find my tongue.
"Cat gave your tongue back?" he laughed. "It annoys me when people keep staring at me like I am the most precious specimen alive" I rolled my eyes at that but stopped abruptly with the words that flew from Chanel Preston's mouth.
"You really want to know right? I wanted you here because I want a new start between the two rivals. And this girl is not a mundane. She is my daughter and the future Queen for Sirens."
