Chapter 64 - Hidden Lineage(2/3)

"The sealing ritual will remain in effect as long as Feng Huang's soul maintains dominance over her vessel right? what do we do if she chooses to never awaken, wouldn't that give the Fire Saint an advantage?" Agyth asked in confusion

"We can't wait for that to happen. If Miss Huang wishes to hide we will have no choice but to force her to awaken" Ein said solemnly while looking in Yue Chen's direction "We need to find the monk that supressed the Fire Saint inside Miss Huang before, if its him he might have a way to bring her back"

"..." Yue Chen who sat next to the two tapped against the desk while lost in thought. The events of yesterday had left him with a lot of questions that he needed answered.

"My Lord is there something bothering you?" Ein asked as he took notice of Yue Chen's distant gaze "It seems as if there is something on your mind"

Yue Chen shook his head at Ein's question before getting up from his seat " Its nothing for you to worry about, take the time here in the city to tend to your internal injuries Ein, ill find you if I need your help"

Ein nodded in silence at Yue Chen's words before making his way back to his room

The Asura were the leaders of the Shura race and were known as Moonlight Demons. It was said that they drew their strength from the moon itself and were feared by the humans from the City of the Pasts. A long time ago there had been an incident in which a shura that had broken through to the Human realm, in a fit of rage consumed the flesh of more than three thousand humans residing within the city walls after which he was said to have ascended to the realm of the saints. The Asuras who were aware of this also sought strength and consumed the flesh of humans hoping to achieve sainthood. The human relations with the Shura race had broken down and they were merely treated as livestock to improve their cultivation.

"...…." Yue Chen flipped the pages of records he had received from Xian Fei. The woman he met yesterday had no hostility towards him, was she an exception among the Shura? Placing the records onto his bed Yue Chen sat cross-legged and started to cultivate.

Shura Domain, Chu Family Grounds

Upon a certain Tearwood tree at the extreme corner of the Chu family ground a young woman seeming as if she was in her early twenties with beautiful silver hair rested, her gaze distant as she looked up at the clouds.

"Do you really intend to meet with that human again, my lady?" a man sitting at the root of the tree questioned.

"Chu Hao there is no need to watch over me, should anything happen to me there is nothing you could do to stop it" Lady Ris replied nonchalantly.

The guard named Chu Hao lowered his head in silence, his fists tightening as he acknowledged his own weakness. Lady Ris who was already above the Sky realm would never need the help of someone like himself that was only at the Nirvana Realm. If she was unable to escape danger then he would be as useful as a log.

".....Im sorry Chu Hao, I was just feeling a bit agitated, forget what I just said" Lady Ris sighed helplessly

Chu Hao shook his head "I am at fault for being too weak to protect the one I serve, your words are nothing but the truth my lady"

Lady Ris looked down at Chu Hao that sat at the tree's root then back at the clouds before letting out a sigh "That boy we met yesterday, he looks just like Chu Qian"

Chu Hao frowned at the mention of the name 'Chu Qian' and his gaze shifted to a figure that was approaching from the distance.

A shura dressed in a dark blue armor with his long silver hair tied behind him approached the two briskly. Despite wearing armor his footsteps were fast and silent and in mere moments he had made his way to the Tearwood tree. Looking up at Lady Ris that was sitting on the branch of the tree the man narrowed his eyes with an undisguised look of disgust on his face "Chu Xinyi, I hear you intend to bring a human onto our sacred grounds? I see you've grown brazen after being granted the title of Matriarch"

Lady Ris glanced at the man at the foot of the tree, unbothered by his words "Is that all you came to ask, brother?"

"Tch!" angered by Chu Xinyi's indifferent attitude the man turned to leave "only death awaits humans beyond the gates of the shura and I will see to it that it stays that way"

Watching her brother leave Lady Ris hopped down from the branch she was seated on and headed towards the entrance of the family grounds.

"Lady Ris, where are you going?" Chu Hao stood up and chased after the departing Chu Xinyi

"Im going for a walk" Chu Xinyi responded.

Yue Chen exhaled, releasing a puff of icy fog from his mouth as he opened his eyes. He was on the verge of breaking through to the second sky of the Disaster Realm but had suddenly hit a bottleneck. Suddenly there was a surge of true essence in the air which made Yue Chen immediately alert. Moving into the the main room where everyone was already gathered Yue Chen spotted a figure that stood at the entrance of the Blood Sword Pavilion.

Agyth's fangs extended as she preapared to attack the figure yet her body refused to move forward it was as if her instinct had taken hold of her body.

"Yue Chen stay back!" Xian Fei shouted while hurrying to his side "this person is too strong, even for me"

Chu Xinyi entered the Blood Sword Pavilion slowly, her gaze fixed onto Yue Chen "I knew I said two days later but I guess got a bit impatient to see you again"

"Everyone lower your weapons, she's not here to fight" Yue Chen said slowly as he made sense of what was happening "If she wanted to kill us we would have all died already"

Chu Xinyi smiled at Yue Chen's words while taking a seat "You really are the spitting image of Chu Qian"

After informing everyone of his prior meeting with Chu Xinyi, Xian Fei and the others soon regained their composures.

Chu Xinyi's smile soon faded as she stared at Yue Chen once more "Yesterday you asked me about Yue SoRan, I'll tell you everything about you and your parents under the condition that you assist me in saving my disciple Chu Qian"
