Go to Hell

Gu Zichen closed the file he was reading and picked up his mobile to read the message.

"I want to be alone. I'll be back in a few days"

Those few words made him feel extremely restless.

When he came back home, his wife wasn't there. So, he waited for her thinking she would be home soon but she was nowhere to be seen. It was almost dinner time and now she was saying she wanted to be alone.

Thinking back to the meeting, he understood Wu Jinyan's interference had saved him from several troubles that would have eaten his valuable time.

From legal issues to complaints from the public...who knows when the flooding problems will end?

She came just like an angel to save him from headaches. He was relieved she was smart enough to identify all the flaws in the commercial before he could point any.

When he heard her opinion about team leader Su, he did the same within the next few minutes. He checked all the other employees in the company and fired a few more unworthy staff.

It's just that he replaced the whole advertising team for being reckless while doing their job. He knew it was not entirely Team Leader Su's fault and the whole team was responsible. They agreed on such improper content to publicize a simple product, in addition, they copied someone else's idea.

He did everything exactly as Wu Jinyan said but after rethinking, he realized his behaviour was out of his usual way of dealing with matters. Why did he even listen to her in the first place? He must have gone crazy from seeing her bizarre appearance for too long.

---

Wu Jinyan just walked out of the shower with a towel in her hands drying her hair. She picked up the mobile to see if she had any notifications. But she received none.

"What the...?"

Her expectations were drowned in the wide ocean. She thought Gu Zichen would at least ask where she was or if she had eaten anything. To her surprise, he asked nothing which showed his lack of concern for her.

She was disappointed. She was upset with this man for being unconcerned about her.

She quarrelled with his brainless employee only because that woman misbehaved towards him and spoke ill of him. Moreover, his employee called her a vulgar woman. But he wasn't bothered about her to ask if she was hurt. She realised that she had fought for nothing.

"Go to hell, Gu Zichen" She screamed and tossed her phone and towel aside and jumped onto her bed.

"Ahh...this is heaven" She curled up into a ball for a good sleep.

A few minutes later, a sound from outside disturbed her. She ran out of her bedroom and heard her doorbell ringing.

She was in no mood to entertain guests but someone was already at her door.

She opened the door to find her neighbour's four-year-old son Little Bunny.

"Aunty Wu, why didn't you come home these past few days? I missed you" the kid on the other side of the door asked in a sad voice as he hugged her legs.

Looking at the child's teary eyes, Wu Jinyan was moved. She said in a sorry tone " Sorry, Little Bunny. Aunty will be living somewhere else from now on and might not stay here anymore..."

She had yet to complete the sentence, but the little boy on the other side turned around and ran away from her sight. He must be upset.

"Little Bunny!!" Wu Jinyan cried out but chose not to chase after him. She would let the child digest the news. She simply closed the door and walked back into her bedroom.

This kid became very affectionate towards her since the day she moved into this apartment two months ago.

Little Bunny spent most of his time with her. He would watch TV, play and eat snacks together with her. She would even take him to the nearby park and watch him play with other kids. There were often times when other people mistook her for his mother.

However, in the past two months, she never saw his parents and guessed they were busy with work because once asked about them, the kid would always reply with 'Busy at work' or 'Not at home'

She always wondered who would be heartless to leave their child alone at home all day.

Just two minutes later, she heard sounds from outside again. Thinking it was Little Bunny again, she threw open the door without much thought.

But on looking at the tall solid figure standing on the other side of the door, she closed the door without any delay.

How dare he come here? Fuming in anger, she stomped her feet and went back into her bedroom but soon heard noises again, disturbing her sleep.

As she walked into the living room, she saw the man seated on the couch looking around the place.

She was uncertain how this man had come inside when she closed the door.

"How did you get inside?" Wu Jinyan asked.

"Aunty Wu, I gave the apartment's passcode to uncle because he promised me he would let Aunty live here with Little Bunny" Wu Jinyan heard a childish voice coming from the kitchen.

She then saw Little Bunny trotting towards the living room and handing a glass of water with his cute little hands to Gu Zichen. "Uncle Gu, here. Drink some water"

"Thank you" Gu Zichen took the glass smiling at the child.

Wu Jinyan was speechless. Their actions were too natural and they behaved like they were in their own house.
