CHAPTER FOUR: The First Disaster
He took off his sweater and said
"Here, take it."
That made her blush for a bit.. maybe a lot.
She took his sweater and said
"Um, Thanks" while avoiding an eye contact with Gelvin.
They enjoyed walking around the supermarket while having some random chats. She has almost forgotten all of her troubles since she started hanging out with him. She forgot her troubles specially Marcus.
After a couple of hours, they decided to buy a cup of milk tea for each of them before leaving the supermarket. While drinking their milk tea, they suddenly laugh together as if they knew each of their thoughts.
They laugh because it's raining outside and the people started staring at them because there they are, drinking a cup of milk tea full of ice.
They looked at each other then started laughing so hard even though they tried to conceal their laughters.
Then they started walking towards the terminal just like a sweet couple, sharing a small umbrella while keeping each other close as possible to prevent getting wet by the rain.
They kept the silence while walking, but then they accidentally held each other's hand while holding their umbrella.
They stare at each other, moving their face closer and closer, but then reality slapped her so hard. It's not right, starting a new flame shouldn't be a part of her plan.
So she resist the spark that she felt---they both felt. She started minding the way she held her umbrella and begin to walk towards the terminal. When she got home, she noticed that her lips carries a sweet and wide smile.
She felt butterflies in her tummy as she remembers their few precious hours together.
After a few days, they got invited to visit Elise's home. They accepted that invitation and rode a tricycle together. Inside the trike, Kelvin asked a very awkward favor.
"This might sound crazy, but I'll ask anyway." he said.
"Alright, spill it." she answered.
"Uhmm will you hold my hand?" he asked nervously.
"Only if you don't min...." he added, but before he finished his sentence, he felt so giddy. Evangeline already held his hands!
Evangeline become so confused. She just held a guy's hand!
They held hands 'till they reached Elise's house.
Their visit becomes so relaxed that Gelvin slept a bit with his face laying on the table. He had no idea that someone is watching him.
"Hmm" Evangeline left a sigh after imagining some thoughts with Gelvin. Yes, she's the one who stared at him while he slept. She suddenly ends up imagining being with him. But she resists her feelings for him.
She erased the way she craves for his presence. But it seems like destiny's finding a way for her to walk towards his path.
When they were heading back home, Elise suddenly had something to do so she let Gelvin walk her friend Evangeline home. So they started walking down a very steep hill.
Gelvin seemed to notice that Evangeline is having a hard time walking down.
A few steps later, he couldn't resist himself so he offered her shoulder so that she could walk less worried about rolling down the hill.
Evangeline tried her best to strengthen her legs, but the hill is too steep for her. So she ends up having no choice. She grabbed his shoulder going down to his arm. She ended up holding Gelvin's arms along their way.
"Why is this happening!" she whispered to herself.
She's slowly falling in love with him, but she chose to deny it again and again.
The next thing she knows is that Gelvin suddenly becomes the 1st man to wear a necklace to her neck.
"I want you to have it." he asked while sitting behind her.
Evangeline froze a bit and didn't have a chance to refuse. So she took the necklace. It's not just any necklace. It's a locket. The kind of necklace that she always dreamed to have. So she tried to wear it, but something keeps getting wrong. She couldn't lock it herself so Gelvin grabbed both ends and lock it right away.
That few seconds felt like an eternity for her as she felt his warm breath from her ear down to her neck.
She felt the chills that she never had.
She tried to wake herself from a very romantic scenario. She did!
But little did she know, it's the last time that she's gonna deny how she felt.
A few days after that time runs fast like a wind. She woke up being in love. She woke up being captured by his gestures. She looked at the mirror, she saw herself differently. She looks so happy that she can't see a sign of her broken soul. That's when she finally let her feelings out. That is when she gave him a chance to enter her life.
She's so happy without knowing that something else was revealed. A jealousy, a bit anger and selfishness. All came out of her soon to be...
Most exposed disaster-----Marcus.
The next day after giving her sweet "yes" to Gelvin, a storm came towards them. Marcus went out on his town just to suddenly expose himself to Evangeline's school.
She was so nervous and embarrassed at the same time. She didn't expect a scandalous scenario!
" Oh my he's outside what am I gonna do?!" she asked Gelvin nervously.
"I was gonna talk to him." he answered as he intends to calm her.
As they walked down their room, Marcus faced them. He walked with them asking Evangeline about her feelings and their promises.
Evangeline couldn't even move for a while. All that she handled to say is that she's sorry.
Then they told Marcus to wait for their class to end, then they'll talk.
But when their class end, Evangeline felt so out of the weather. That made her leave and let Gelvin and Marcus to talk.
She's so nervous as she walked home.
She's thinking about what the worst that could happen?
