chap 5 the hunt

The moment i touch the ground the rope falls to the ground as i coil it up and hang it across my chest " Wish I had a plan I crouch and sneak clos to the woods applying the masker before I go I muttering to myself " damn I hope this works." i creep along for a few minutes before find 20 griffins sleeping on their nest i quietly sneak around and find one unguarded as i look inside i find a mass of shiny objects but what I find that catches my eyes is 12 rings.' No way this isn't some wuzia world but if these are what I think I'm going to shit bricks.' i think to myself as i p ice up the 12 green jade rings and I slowly guide the same pulling sensation to the rings as one of them opens a light screen showing swords ,spears, bows and ammo, medical supplies and armor, while the rest are empty smiling i slide the one with all the goodies on my finger and put the rest in my pocket ' ok this is great now how to.' i think before I spot a egg and grins evily quietly i grab the egg and sneak around to where I came setting the egg down i pull my bow and draw a arrow and firing it at the closest griffin which sreeches loudly as it turns to dust waking the rest up as i hold up the egg and turn and taking off sprinting towards the cliff praying to Artemis " Ok i got their attention help please !!!"

I sprint out the woods and see the hunters blowing a horn as the draw their bows, i glance behind me to see the griffins still chasing me for the egg slowly gaining ground, when a rain of sliver arrows perice their necks turning them to dust i slow down to a stop setting the egg down and sitting beside it breathing heavy. " That was a stupid plan boy." i look up to see Artemis and her hunters standing over me " Truth be told there was no plan after getting down here." They all look at belike I'm crazy " Your crazy." the girl that brought me to the camp says I just laugh " yeah I am its more fun."

They shake their head" Lady Artemis what do you want do with the eggs?" i ask the goddess pointing at the egg with my thumb" Let the eggs be if we destroy them then the wildlife association will get on me." i shurg " I have already taken what I want from the nest so can I get some safe now?" i ask as she nods and waves her hand as my vision goes black and when my sight comes back I'm sitting in a amphitheater surrounded by dozens of kids and a centaur staring at be shocked " I take you are the child that lord Hermes said was coming." he says as he approaches " I'm chirion the activities director here at camp halfblood and you are ?" i stand up and look him in the eyes " zak Bradley nice to meet you ." He smiles " Tonight stay with the Hermes cabin and the come find me in the morning till then enjoy the campfire." i nod as he walks away as girl with bark brown hair walks up " hey the name is silena I'm from the Aphrodite cabin." i nod and take a small step back as a guy walks up and claps my shoulder " The name is phill I'm the headcousnler for cabin eleven of the Hermes bunch...why did you jump away?" he says as i start backing away shaking " Please don't touch me." Everyone looks confused but shrugs and keeps singing a weird song before splitting up to go to they cabins.

" Come on zak lets go " phill says as he motions for me to follow to which i do as we come the cabin and walks straight in " find a place to crash we'll get you stuff tomorrow." he says as he climbs on a buck and passes out i make my way to a spot in the corner and sit down with my back to the wall and fall asleep immediately and have a dreamles sleep before waking up the next morning before almost every one to find phill crouched infront of me and whispers " Come on lets get you some stuff from the camp store." I nod and we both sneak out the cabin as the sun comes up and I follow him to the store as he picks the lock" Come on lets be quick." we slip inside and quickly make our way to the clothing and he hands me a orange shirt and blue jeans and shoes that I quickly fold under my arm as we make our way and we swipe a sleeping bag and toiletries and grabbing a backpack and stuffing my stuff inside before sprinting out the store and back to the cabin " You were quiet have you stole before?" Phill asks as we sit down I shake my head " First time but I have had to sneak out of my old house before." i replied as i pull my lights in close and my knees he nodsand doesn't ask as a horn blows and every one wake up slowly " Ok people lets get breakfast!" phill stands up and yells as we all make our way to eat and get our food " I haven't eaten proper food in days." I mumble as i see everyone scrapping a part of the food in the fire " Go on buddy give some to the gods." I nods and scrap some off as the smell of pines come out the fire" For the gods" i turn and walk away to start eating as chirion walks infront of the tables " Everyone go about your schedules today there will be a game of capture the flag on Friday so keep to your training Dismissed." Everyone starts going about their business as i walk up to chirion " well here I is." he motions for me to follow " Silena you come to you will show him around after we are done talking." he calls out as she runs up and nods as we make our way to the big house " So is zak your real name?" silena asks as we walkin the door " No my real name is Zachary Bradley but once I ran away I called myself zak to hide." i say quietly as she jumps infront of me with star in her eye and chirion looks at me.

"Bradley as in Tina Bradley the country singer?!" She asks Leaning in close i just nod and lower my head to where they can't see my face as silena sqealls and tries to grab my hands but I pull them back" Don't touch me please." i say quietly as they both look confused before chirion speaks up " Alright is there something you have against contact?" i turn " I'll show you on the condition that what you learn doesn't leave this room." they both nod and both say "" i swear on the river Styx that what we learn with not leave this room."" as they say this thunder rumbles outside.

I nod at turn my back to them and slowly pull my qiuver and bow off before pulling my shirt up to reveal the scars on my back as silena and chirion inhale sharply " This is what she does behind closed doors, each scar is a time that I embarrassed her in public." i look back over my shoulder to see that both of their faces are pale as i pull my shirt down and turn and face them " And chirion I have questions for you?"
