chap 38 a new hunt

I march to the car and slam the door behind me " Savanah drive." I snarl and she pops the car in gear " Went poorly?" silena asks as I shake my head " It went alright but just being around him made me feel filthy." I reply leaning back against the door " Ok but i asked Savanah to take us to a clothing store not far from your corporate office." I just nod and let my thoughts drift till I feel us come to a stop. The moment I get out the car I see a woman wearing all sliver sitting in the waiting room of my office as the secretary runs out the door and up to me " Sir glad I was able to spot you, you have a visitor all she said was her name was Artemis." I see silena glare at me as a shiver runs down my back " Well its rude to make a goddess wait, Savanah go with silena use one of the private accounts." I say walking into my corporate office and up to the woman " Lady Artemis forgive me for making you wait let us talk in my office." I say respectfully as she stands up " Its no problem i have a few things I want to talk with you about."

We walk in my office and I set a cup of tea down on the table for her to drink. " So what can I do for you?" She smiles " Firstly I want to personally thank you for allowing my hunters to resupply at your stores its be a great help plus your network helps us narrow down the search." I chuckle before taking a sip of tea " Your most welcome M'lady." Her smile fades as she leans forward and interlocking her fingers " Secondly I have a monster for you to hunt its the chimera recently it cause trouble in Saint Louis for Mr Jackson but it has been let lose so I want you to hunt it." I set me cup down and nod " Yes i heard about something happening in Saint Louis but I didn't know the specifics but as you command I'll hunt it immediately." I say as I start to stand " One moment Mr Bradley this hunt comes with a reward as well." I turn to look at her confused.

" What reward M'lady?" I ask as she grimaces but shakes her head " You will be the first male to receive my blessing however it will not grant you immortality like it would for a maiden but you will still be able to communicate with animals and your archery will get even better." I kneel down on one knee with my head down " I'm not worthy of it." she chuckles " This was something both Zoè and I agreed on however you will not join the hunters." I look up and her " Very well I'll leave immediately I'll hunt this one alone." She nods and the next moment she is gone, I stand up and walk up the door of the building to find silena and Savanah exit the building " Savanah get us back now I have a hunt to do." she nods as silena pouts some.

After a few minutes we arrive back and the house and Savanah and silena walk in as I jog up the hill and into camp as chirion is standing on the big house porch." Chirion I have a hunt from lady Artemis I'll be headed out to Saint Louis." I say as I jog pass and down to my cabin and grab my armor and bow and quiver after storing my armor and slinging my weapons on my back they morph into a backpack and walk back out the camp as I hop back in the car and Savanah drives me to the airport where I climb on my plane and take off .

After a few hours of flying i land in Saint Louis and catch a taki " Pardon me sir but has there been anything strange like disappearances since the arch?" I ask as the driver looks at me in the mirror " The police are on it boy leave it to them." he says we drive up to the motel and I pay as I get out and walk inside with my my bag on my back " Ma'am I will need a room for a week." I say as I set my card on the counter she just nods and rings me up before handing me a key" 501." she says plainly " Ma'am just wondering the higher-ups asked me to investigate the recent attack on the arch I need to know if there are any disappearances." I say as I show her my "seal" and she nods " Surprising there has been four but the police can't find anything." I nod and walk out and to my room and set the bag holding my clothes down before walking out and down the road. " First thing I need is to find out where it likes to hide." I mutter to myself as a cop walks up to me " Son what are you doing with those arrows?"

I look up at her in shock " You can see them?" she nods " Ma'am can we talk I was sent by the Vatican to hunt the beast that has caused the recent disappearances." I say as I show the "seal" and she nods " Then follow me we have another one." we hop in her cruiser and speed to the sence and as I climb out I un sling my bow and walk over to the sence with the officer following as I kneel down and place my finger in one of the claw marks. " What made these?" she ask as the C.I walks over to take pictures " Its not human if that is want you are looking for but judging by these its a demon taking physical form a beast known as a chimera." I explain as she looks at me confused you can tell all that by these marks?" I laugh and point and the snake like bite marks on the edge of melted concrete " By that there is only three demons with such poison but only one with snake like fangs."
