Heaven

Caleb opened his eyes when he heard her heart beating calmly in a steady rhythm. He knew she had finally fallen asleep. He smiled as he watched the weak barrier she had made with the blanket. She really wasn't giving him any openings on her own. It's okay, that just made things more exciting for him.

He would have to work harder to win her heart and have fun in the process. Who didn't like a good chase? Especially when there was such a reward at the end.

He moved towards her slowly and lifted the blanket to get rid of the barrier. He lay down behind her and slowly placed his arm on top of her. He waited a few eternal minutes before wrapping it around her, and pulling her against him snuggly. 'Heaven,' he thought as he closed his eyes.

This was one of the dreams he'd had for the past few years, having her in his arms all night long and sleeping comfortably. Well, maybe not sleeping since he didn't sleep much. As a vampire, he didn't need to sleep in order to live like humans did; it was only done now and then if he was bored or tired, which wasn't often.

He sighed contentedly and slipped his other arm under her head, letting her rest comfortably on his bicep. He felt his own heart beat rapidly and a huge smile crossed his lips. He inhaled her scent and wrapped his arm around her to pull her tighter against him.

He swallowed hard as her soft curves pressed perfectly against his hard body, making him instantly hard. He knew she wasn't wearing anything under his shirt. He mentally praised himself for being so clever and making her wear his shirt instead of letting her wear her own clothes.

A chuckle escaped his lips. He couldn't believe his own actions towards her. He felt like a hormonal teenage boy half the time he was around her. He sighed. He would have to wait until she was ready. He would never force himself on her.

He pressed a kiss on the top of her head before closing his eyes. It was so warm and cozy that he didn't notice when he actually fell asleep.

Rose opened her eyes slowly and sighed. She couldn't remember the last time she had slept so well. She felt completely energized, like her body had replenished whatever energy she had depleted yesterday from all the fear and anxiety she had experienced.

The warmth enveloping her melted her body and mind, and she burrowed herself further into the warmth next to her, her eyes slowly closing once again. 'Heaven,' she thought with a smile.

"Comfortable?" Caleb asked with a smirk as he watched her burrowing further into his embrace like a kitten searching for the perfect spot under the warm blanket.

Rose's eyes shot open at the sound of the deep voice and her heart stopped as the memories of the night before suddenly flashed through her mind. She slowly turned her head behind her and her breath caught when she realized she was in Caleb's arms.

"Shit!" she cried out and quickly sat up. She turned towards the edge of the bed and reached for the side table to lean on. To her utter dismay, she missed the table and ended up flying towards the floor head down, ass up in the air. "Ahhh!"

Caleb quickly reached out for her and wrapped his arms around her before she could hit the floor. He bent one leg on the bed while the other was firmly on the floor, holding her over the edge of the mattress. "You must have slept really well, to wake up with so much energy," he chuckled. He knew he shouldn't laugh, but he couldn't help himself.

Rose gulped when she felt the t-shirt slowly riding up behind her thighs and quickly reached behind her to pull it down. She slowly lifted herself to kneel on the bed, cheeks burning red with shame. "T-thanks," she muttered embarrassedly.

Caleb smiled down at her, noting the red tint on her cheeks and the quick beating of her heart. "Don't worry I didn't see anything."

Her eyes widened with his words. She looked up at him and glared. "This is all your fault!" she said as she lifted her hands to bang them him on his chest. She was sure that to him, it probably felt like she was patting him, but she didn't care, she continued to bang her fists against his bare chest. "If you had let me go to my room this would have never happened!" she cried out indignantly as she glared up at him.

Caleb chuckled at her cute outburst. "I have no regrets," he said with a wide smile.

Rose's eyes narrowed further as she looked up at him. She slapped his hands away from her and quickly stood up. "I'm going to my room!" she said as she started to walk quickly towards the bedroom door.

"I'll have someone call you when breakfast is ready."

Rose didn't bother turning. She quickly hurried towards the door, face burning red with embarrassment. She opened the door to his room and quickly fled to hers.

She slammed her door shut and ran towards the bathroom. "Ahhh!" she screamed in frustration as shame washed over her. She was wearing nothing under the shirt! What if he saw something? She could swear she felt steam sizzling from her face from how embarrassed she was. She looked in the mirror and groaned when she saw how red her face was. How could that have happened to her? How embarrassing!

She sat down on the toiled and whined. How would she face him again? "Fuck, fuck, fuck!" she hissed. She sighed and closed her eyes. After a few minutes of trying to calm down, she finally opened her eyes again and glared at the glass shower doors. It was all his fault! If he hadn't forced her to stay with him, this would have never happened!

She stood up angrily and got into the shower, determined to let him have a piece of her mind after breakfast. How dare he make her do whatever he wanted without considering her own feelings! The more she thought about it, the angrier she became until she felt herself sizzling again, but this time out of anger not shame.

When breakfast finally came, Rose was already fuming with anger. She had spent almost an hour in the shower blaming Caleb for the morning accident. She made her way down to the dinning room greeted the other vampires around the table and sat down on her chair.

She felt Caleb's gaze on her, but refused to turn to look at him. She was determined to make him pay for the shame he had put her through.

"Are you feeling alright Rose?" Ian, who always sat next to her asked with a frown when he noticed her fowl mood.

Rose looked towards him with a polite smile and nodded. "I'm alright. Thank you Ian."

"Are you sure?" Caleb asked with a grin. "Maybe you didn't sleep well?" he said as he looked at her, noting the way her body stiffened.

Was he purposely trying to embarrass her in front of everyone?! Her heart began to pound furiously and her cheeks turned red. She gulped and looked over at Caleb with a tight smile. "Now that you mention it, I slept terrible. That's probably why I don't feel good."

Caleb frowned. "Really? You were snoring the whole night."

Her eyes widened at his words. She heard small gasps and giggles around the table and her eyes narrowed at him. "You probably heard wrong. Maybe it was you who was snoring!" she said through clenched teeth.

Caleb chuckled and nodded. "You're probably right sweetheart."

Kat frowned when she heard their conversation. "Are you guys sleeping together now?" she asked and the table fell silent.

Rose wasn't sure if it was possible for her cheeks to burner hotter, but they were, as shame ran through her. "Not really."

"Yes," Caleb said after her, smile widening. He turned to Kat. "Have them move her things to my room today."

Kat ground her teeth together but nodded obediently. "Yes."

Rose's eyes widened. "No!" She cried out, shocking everyone. "I don't think that's necessary," she said as she looked up at Caleb.

He smiled and looked over at her. "Then should I move mine to yours?" he asked with a chuckle.

Rose chuckled dryly as everyone looked at her, waiting for her answer. How was she going to get away from this man when he kept trying to glue himself to her?! Forget letting him have a piece of her mind, all she wanted now was to run away from him and never face him again!
