"I'll join you downstairs later," Lucas stated after they stepped out of his room and Imani looked up at him, wondering where he was going.

He wanted to go to his study so he could finally join the council meeting. He was sure some of the Alphas would be extremely pissed that he hasn't yet and he could choose not to join them this night because he didn't want to hear them talk about how rude it was of him to join the meeting late but he wanted to know what was so important that Aida had called him.

"Work," he added when she kept staring at him and he lightly touched her cheek.
