chapter twenty.

"The late lady Herlington, you and her were friends weren't you?". Morgana asked, pacing around the office of the duke.

"We just happened to be people of the same cycle, but our acquaintance cannot really be termed as friendship, why do you ask?". The duchess asked, still not getting any of whatever Morgana was talking about.

"The late Lady Herlington was the protector of the secret portal. For years that portal hasn't been used but i think someone might have discovered it or is about to". Morgana explained. The duchess slowly rose from the chair and stood at the window.

"Why do you say so?". The duchess asked clearly not getting whatever Morgana was talking about.

"My granddaughter has been having dreams of the future, where she and Alex are involved in a road accident. If we don't want that to happen we have to make sure that nobody knows of that portal, because if anyone uses it, it'll disrupt the balance and you know what will happen to Alex if that happens". Morgana explained.

"When we think we have everything under control then boom, something else happens. When will all this be over Morgana?". The duchess asked but Morgana just shook his head.

"I'll go over at the Herlington's and see what i can find out, make sure my granddaughter is kept busy throughout the day, it'll be easier to get into her dreams at night".

"Of course, tell me if you find anything at the Herlington's".

"I will, if you'll excuse me, My Lady".

The duchess was left alone thinking about everything that was going on . There were so many secrets she was keeping from her children, and now after almost thirty years, the truth was about to be revealed. Ever since she arrived in this time, things have never been the same again. Everyday, a new mystery was revealed, adding up on the number of secrets she was already keeping. Her husband, the Duke, leaving for a few days, for reasons only three of them knew. By three, I mean, Her, her husband and Morgana. Praying everyday that Alex will turn out to be different from whatever her husband was, including her younger son, but now, the portal that has been keeping everything at balance was threatening to disrupt the universe, and if that happened, the world would never be the same again. After all the secrets and everything they'd worked so hard to maintain the balance she wasn't just going to sit down and watch everything fall down. She called the butler and asked him to deliver a letter to Lord Herlington. It was time she knew what that sneaky bastard was upto now. She had her men following him for some days and there was certainly something fishy going on.

"It's time to get my future daughter in law busy". She said to herself as she rose from her husband's chair. She had everything planned out for the day she just hope her future daughter in law wouldn't hate her for over working her. The fate of the whole world was now on her hands, and her dreams were the key to solving them.

"Maurice, kindly ask Lady Morgan to meet me at the barn, and ask the maids to get the snacks ready, we'll be going out for a while".

"Yes, My Lady".
