170 - Athena, Vulcan and the Lions

"How'd you know that I was there?"

Vulcan smothered the silence. He was seating behind her on the horse. The two had been silent since they left Lara's place. Vulcan had just being generous enough to crush his ego. He didn't think she really did worth it.

"This is my land, where could you possibly hide?"

She bragged. He wished he could hold her face in his gaze and see how boldly she had told herself a lanky lie.

He didn't have an objection to what she had said but how she had said it.

Like nobody could stop her or make her quit whatever the heck she thought best.

That annoyed him and he made it into words. Such words he had no idea what birthed them.

"At least, Lara is better than you. She admitted she took me and didn't hide or run away knowing you were coming."

He said feeling the grace of the moment. The horse was running through a path bordered by towering trees on the right and left.
