#Chapter 35

*Rose's POV*

Hermione remained in the hospital for several weeks.

There was a flurry of rumour about her disappearence when the rest of the school arrived back from their Christmas Holidays, because of course eveeyone thought that she had been attacked.

So many students filed past the hospital wing trying to catch a glimpse of Hermione that Madam Pomfrey took out her curtains again and placed them around Hermione's bed, to spare her the shame of being seen with a furry face.

I went to visit her during all my breaks, not getting used to the fact that she looked like a cat. Every time I saw her I burst into laughter.

I was, as usual, with Hermione. She had reached under her pillow she was sleeping on and brought out a letter that she wanted to show me.

"

To Miss Granger, wishing you a speedy recovery, from your concerned teacher, Gilderoy Lockhart, Order of Merlin, Third Class, Honrary Member of the Dark Force Defence League and five times winner of Witch Weekly's Most-Charming-Smile award."

I looked up from the paper and handed it back to Hermione,"You are soo lucky."

It was not fair that she had gotten a letter from Lockhart she wasn't even sick. I had gotten hit by a buldger and no one even came to visit me.

Hermione smiled at me.

*

Having Potions once more, I went to Sev's class.

Today, once again, we were to be in our groups.

I sat down waiting for everyone to arrive.

"Morning Rose."

I looked up to see that it was Rosie.

"Morning Roseline," I replied.

*

"Easy, just put one of these," Draco said. He then put some red berries into the cauldron.

It has been a while and Draco had insisted he takes over in making the Potion this time.

"Wrong berries Malfoy," Roseline said.

"She is not wrong," Blaise said as he looked at the cauldron,"That Potion looks deadly."

"That's dumb of you, Draco! You were supposed to put Mistletoe Berries," I stated.

"Umm, I think we should back away. It looks like it's going to blow," Harry said.

"I don't think it wi-" Draco was cut off by the exploding cauldron.

"THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT MALFOY! IF YOU PAYED ATTENTION WE WOULDN'T BE IN THIS MESS!" Harry shouted at Draco.

"IF YOU HELPED, WE WOULDN'T BE IN THIS MESS, WOULD WE POTTAH?" Draco screetched back.

"SHUT UP! BOTH OF YOU!" I said, but I was ignored the quarreling boys.

"SHE SAID TO SHUT UP! IT'S BOTH OF YOUR FAULTS!" Roseline said making Draco and Harry stop quarreling.

"What's going on in here?" Sev asked us.

"Malfoy here but the wrong berries in the potion," Blaise explained to Sev.

"You should have paid attention, Mr Malfoy. Five points from Slytherin. And all of you will stay to clean this mess up. Also, detention for all of you."

"Great job Draco, you got us detention."

"Arg. Why couldn't you just let me and Roseline deal with it. You three are no good at Potions," I said to the three boys as the wiped goo off their hair.

*

I sat there in detention with Harry, Blaise and Draco, waiting for Roseline to join us.

At that moment, she came into the room.

"So is Snape coming or not?" Rosie asked us as she sat down.

"Don't know. Kinda hope he doesn't though," said Harry.

"Ooo. Let's check out the Potion's he's got!" Blaise said.

"Yeah, and get fifty million months more of detention, sure," I said sarcastically.

"More like years," Draco said making us laugh.

"Wow, Malfoy laughs?" Roseline asked.

"He's a human too, ya know?" Blaise said.

Roseline rolled her eyes,"Cool, totally didn't know that."

We talked for a while. However, Harry didn't join in with our conversations looking like he would rather be somewhere else.

"You know, you're not so bad, Malfoy," Roseline said.

"Really? You're just so nice Rosie," I said to her.

The Potions door flang open revealing Madelyn Greenwood, her friend, and a few more people.

"Arg, them," Roseline said rolling her eyes.

"I know right, they are awful gits," Blaise said.

"Why's Snape given so many people detention?" Harry asked.

As if on cue, a Professor Sprout walked in.

"Evening students, I believe you all have a reason for being here," She said.

We were all assigned in groups. Each group had different jobs to do in different classes. My group, which consisted my Potions groups and five more people, were to clear the Potions class.

"Easy. Just use this spell," Roseline concluded and then she flicked her wand.

"Wingardium Leviosa," she said making the bottle float to Madelyn. Just hen, I caught a quick glimpse of Draco nudging Roseline, which made her drop the Potion.

The Potion poured on Madelyn and her friend. They screeched in disgust and trien to wipe it off themselves.

"Oh my gosh. Draco!" Roseline screeched at Draco.

"Sorry," Draco said.

"Got to admit it though, that was funny," Blaise said high-fiving Draco.

"You!" Madelyn walked towards us,"This is your doing!"

"And what are YOU doing to do about it?" Roseline said back.

"I'm goi-" but Madelyn was cut off by Professor Sprout, our supervisor.

"Miss Greenwood," she said talking to Madelyn.

"Um. Professor Sprout," Madelyn said.

"I do not tolerate any of this behavior. Kindly, go back to your position."

"Bu-" Madelyn tried to argue back.

"No buts. Go back to your position."

Madelyn walked back to where she was assigned to be, even angrier than before.

As soon as Professor Sprout walked out of the classroom, Draco, Blaise, Harry, Roseline and I burst into laughter.

"Good job you did there," said one of the Slytherin boys.

"Not really what I did," Roseline replied,"But thanks."

"I'm Noah Miller, by the way," he introduced.

"Roseline Greenwood," she said. Then she joined us in working.

I thought Noah had a little crush on Roseline. The thought made me smirk.

*

I laughed once again with the group, after telling them what had happened in detention.

"Wow," Tracey said,"Makes me want to wish that I had gotten into detention with you guys."

I laughed.

*

I traced my steps backwards to where I had met Roseline in the room with the piano.

I stood behind the door, once again, listening to her sing.

"We're not in Love,

We share no stories.

Just something in your eyes.

Don't be afraid

The shadows know me.

Let's leave the world behind.

Take me through the night,

Fall into the dark side.

We don't need the light,

We'll live on the dark side.

I see it,

Lets feel it.

While we're still young and fearless.

Let go of the light.

Fall into the dark side.

Fall into the dark side.

Give into the dark side.

Let go of the Light.

Fall into the dark side.

Beneath the sky,

As black as diamonds,

We're running out of time.

Don't wait for truth,

To come and blind us.

Let's just believe their lies.

Believe it,

I see it I know that you can feel it

No secrets worth keeping

So fool me like I am dreaming.

Take me through the night,

Fall into the dark side.

We don't need the light,

We'll live on the dark side.

I see it,

Lets feel it.

While we're still young and fearless.

Let go of the light.

Fall into the dark side.

Fall into the dark side.

Give into the dark side.

Let go of the light.

Fall into the dark sid-"

She sang so beautifully, I had to interrupt her. I started to clap for her.

"You need to stop scaring me like that Rose," she told me.

"Oh well," I said, then giggled.

"Umm your a Weasley...Right?" She asked.

I replied,"Was..."

Then I sighed, thinking back to the day when I got my howler.

"Oh... Ginny kinda dropped this today. But she ran away before I could give it to her," Roseline said.

"I want to read it," I replied grasping the diary in my hands.

"No-I think it's rather private," Roseline stated.

"Oh come on," I said,"One peek won't hurt."

I opened the book. The first page was empty. Perhaps she had started on the second page? I flipped through the whole book, but it was empty.

"Nothing," I said.

"What do you mean nothing," Rosepline asked curiously.

"There is nothing in it," I said giving the book to her.

"Doesn't make any sense... Unless," Roseline stated.

"Unless what?" I asked.

"Hand me the ink and quickly over there," she said.

"Here." I gave it to her.

"Look," Roseline said, moving to the side so I could see.

"Did it just write 'Hi Roseline, I am Tom Riddle!?' How in the world is that possible!" I exclaimed.

"I read about this in a book once. Some wizards or witches enchant their diaries making them like this," she said.

"Cool. Can't wait to learn a spell like that," I replied, my mind already going in dreams.

"We need to give this book back to Ginny. But first we need to find out who Tom Marvolo is," Roseline said standing up.

"Where are you going?" I asked.

"The library," Roseline said, the walked out.

I sighed and stood up to the Slytherin common room, hoping that she would find out who Tom is.
