Abducted By Demons

With a wave of her hand, the other soldiers all lowered their weapons. "Take that down, I'm here to talk, not fight," said the woman.

But Kies continued to keep up his wind barrier and told her, "We can talk through this."

"If that is what you desire, then fine," the woman said aloofly. "I want you to send a message to whoever is in charge to call for a ceasefire."

"Sorry?" Kies looked at the woman with a confused expression. Did he hear that right, a ceasefire?

"We're asking for a ceasefire," she repeated.

"Why? This battle is practically yours, and winning this battle would likely mean the entire war as well."

She pointed at the sky and said, "Did you see that purple flash that came out of the sky?"

"What of it?"

"As we are speaking right now, my soldiers are fighting against demons."

"What!?" Kies didn't understand it. Why would the demons be here? Did they have something to do with the ones that he faced the other day at the festival? But the woman looked serious about it.

The woman crossed her arms and tapped the ground with her foot impatiently. "You heard right. I want to call a temporary truce to deal with the demons first. We can work something else out after."

After realizing the woman's intentions, Kies lowered his wind barrier. Though things didn't add up, Kies needed to report this. But that was going to be difficult. Both his legs have been shot. It was taking all his strength to keep himself from falling over. "I would report this but-" Before Kies could finish his sentence, something flew down from the skies and grabbed him from underneath his arms. In the blink of an eye, he found himself soaring above the ground. Kies tried to turn around to see what had taken him.

"Stop flailing about, otherwise I'll end up dropping you," said a familiar voice.

Kies froze and tried to remember where he had heard that voice before. It was recent, around a couple of days ago. 'Wait...' Kies recalled who it was. It was one of the demons from the other day, the one that had escaped. Kies couldn't turn around to confirm it, but he was sure of it.

"You're the demon from the other day, what are you doing to me!?" Kies demanded.

The demon ignored Kies's question and continued flying. Kies was about to continue struggling again but he stopped himself after looking down. They were far above the ground. If she were to drop him from this height, even his wind magic wouldn't save him from going splat.

"So this is the person we are supposed to capture? He looks like a normal human to me." Another demon appeared from out of nowhere and joined them.

"Go do your job," the female demon ordered him in an annoyed voice.

"Your terrible attitude never changes does it?" The other demon rolled his eyes and flew back down towards the battlefield.

"What does he mean by capture? Where are you taking me?" Still no answers. The demon continued to ignore him. Kies looked down at the grounds beneath them. They just passed the outer walls of the kingdom and were almost over the forest he and Nina were in yesterday. The demon's speed was incredible. It had only been a few seconds and they had already flown this far. Come to think of it, where were the wind spirits? Weren't they supposed to protect him?

"What was that?" The Otanian soldiers, unsure of what just happened, quickly gathered around the princess to protect her. One second the Silvian soldier was there and the next thing they knew, he was gone. Where did he go?

"Careful princess, he might still be around here." The soldiers kept their guard up and formed a tight circle that surrounded Jenabas.

"Where did he go? Did anyone see where he went?" a soldier asked.

"No. It was too quick," another soldier said.

"Princess, your orders?" the soldiers asked while still protecting her.

Jenabas looked up at the skies. It happened in a flash, but she could've sworn that something had come down from the skies and taken the Silvian soldier away.

"Princess?" the soldiers asked again.

Jenabas looked back down at her soldiers. They were waiting for her commands. "I don't know what happened, but we still need to call for a ceasefire. Send some people to the other squads and inform them of the situation."

"As you wish." A few soldiers were dispatched to relay the message, but as they were about to set off, something flew down from the sky and crashed into the ground, sending the soldiers flying back.

"You must be the leader," hissed a voice. The dust cleared, revealing a demon with a sinister smile on his face.

"Attack!" Jenabas shouted. But even if she didn't order them, the soldiers would've done so. The moment the soldiers saw the demon, they flared up with anger and started to prepare their attacks even before the command was given. The soldiers shot arrows and magic at the demon but he just cast them aside with a wave of his hand. He then shot his arm up into the air and brought it down in front of him. Black bolts shot out of nowhere and bombarded the soldiers.

"Protect the prin- AHHHH!" All around, soldiers were blown apart by the onslaught of magic bolts. Jenabas turned to the man next to her and said to him, "Jackel quick, put up a barrier!"

The mage hastily chanted something and a wall of light rose from the ground and enveloped the soldiers, shielding them. The onslaught continued but the black bolts that hit the barrier were immediately dispelled upon contact.

"How disgusting." The demon eyed the mage who cast the spell in disdain. His smirk was now gone and his eyes were filled with hatred. If it weren't for the wall of light that separated them, the demon would've run up and ripped the mage's throat out with his bare hands.

Jackel shivered from the demon's murderous gaze. A second demon flew down from the sky and landed on top of a building next to the first demon. The new demon carried a book and had red spheres circling around her. Upon seeing the second demon, the soldiers shivered a little. One demon was already hard enough to deal with. Now they had two to worry about.

Jenabas bit her nail. 'Ugh, this isn't good,' she thought to herself. Maybe with some luck, they could defeat one, but two was out of the question. Two was too much for them to handle. She looked around and saw that she wasn't the only one that was thinking the same thing. All the soldiers were looking at her with unsure faces.

"Princess, your orders?"
